Twas very dark, but service was good. Music too loud.

Le St-​Elisabeth, c’est un petit bar bien caché dans une petite ruelle, dans lequel on rentre, on né trouve rien de spécial au premier abord… mais quand on avance un peu et arrive jusqu’à la terrasse, c’est là qu’on se rend compte de la beauté et de l’originalité de l’endroit!
La terrasse est immense, tant en hauteur qu’en largeur, et contient un grand nombre de tables l’été, qui sont souvent toutes pleines ou presque! Si vous êtes 2 à 4, vous pourrez peut être vous faire une petite place entre 2 groupes, mais sinon, parfois, vous devrez attendre un peu.
En tout cas, c’est une super place, où la bière est bonne, les cocktails aussi, et le service est super, par des jeunes vraiment branchés et cool!

Very cool backyard, but when we came over (a party of 3, not big by any means) there was no space for us outside (saturday night). Bummer. The inside is ok, but nothing special. We had a few beers and some appetizers. Nothing special. Beer selection is good, and the appys are so-​so.
I guess the best feature about this place is the terrace/​backyard which we didn’t get to experience. Good music though, alternative rock/​metal, my kind of music.

Crazy crowded… but if you get the chance, their backyard terrasse is beyond awesome. Though without the terrasse, this place is pretty average.

If you’re in Quartier des Spectacles in the summertime, this is hands down the best terrace in the neighbourhood. Beer selection is decent and not too overpriced considering it’s downtown. The music is good, and best of all there aren’t many tourists there, because the pub looks very unassuming and kind of divey from the outside.
It’s not my favourite bar in the city, but if I’m in the neighbourhood and the weather is nice, I’m not going to turn down an invitation to go sit on that awesome terrace.

Great summer spot for the amazing terasse, but I’d only suggest it during off hours, as it fills up very quickly otherwise. Decent beer selection, but charge too much per pint. It’s an acceptable winter option as well, as there’s a nice fireplace on the main floor. Service is pretty slow, though. The 2^nd floor «overflow» bar is not worth it.

In reality it’s probably more like 3.5 stars and that is because the terrasse brings up the rating. In summer it is a great spot to grab a beer as it is closed off from the street and the walls are covered with ivy. The interior is nothing special and their selection of beers is okay but nothing to write home about. Their happy hour specials are a great deal and you can get a pint for $ 4 depending on what kind of beer you choose.

This place has one of the coolest backyards ever. But I’m not telling you anything the other 80 reviews haven’t mentioned. We were a large group, so it was hard to get seated in the yard, so we first went upstairs (there are tables overlooking the yard, but it’s all enclosed). They had a good beer selection upstairs, but it was pretty dead up there, so we went back downstairs. Downstairs was a bit livelier, but we eventually were able to slowly sit down outside at the behest of an interesting mother/​daughter pair. Story for a different time.
All you need to know is they play… interesting music (lots of early 2000s alternative rock, for some reason), they’re known for their Blood Caesar (which is delicious), and the waitresses are super cool.
Not exactly a place to go for dancing, and it can get a bit rowdy, but just overall a nice place to relax outside.
I still don’t understand how that wall is so high though. It was like something out of Game of Thrones.

This is a best kept secret dive bar in Montréal that’s well worth visiting. What makes it a winner is their huge outdoor patio that is to die for. What’s better than drinking with friends?
Drinks are cheap, waitresses are great, what’s not to love?

As others have said… the block won’t entice you to walk down the very short stretch from the main road nor will walking up to the front door… but walk yourself inside and get your butt to the rear garden area and feel like you have discovered something for yourself and live like a native for a spell…

The beer was refreshing but most importantly, the garden is beautiful. I could spend a whole summer night here with friends and be satisfied

A great outdoor beer garden. Great feel to it, good prices. Service is a little on the slow side and some of the girls are a little slow themselves but it’s not a big deal. Can get packed sometimes so try getting there early!

Walking in, it doesn’t look like much, but don’t let that fool you… The back terrasse is something else. The walls are lined with luscious foliage, which makes you feel like you’re hidden away in a magical tree house or forest. Soo pretty!
Service was pretty good, we had ordered inside and then brought our drinks (which were not too pricey) out. Will definitely venture here again during the Summer!

Le Sainte Elisabeth was something straight out of a story book. The Jungle Book to be more precise. The atmosphere is super trendy and when you’re drinking $ 4.00 pints in a rain forrest life can’t get much better.
The food selection is lacking, but you don’t go for the food.
Sangria is also a great option!

One of the most beautiful hidden gem terrasses in MTL. This combined with cheap 4 a 7 deals make it a busy spot so be sure to arrive earlyish to snag a table. I ordered food without really knowing what the deal was – it is actually sourced from a third-​party delivery service. Would not order again, as it was super average and over-​priced for what it is. But would definitely return for a beer or pitcher of sangria on a nice summer day!

Un très bel endroit pour venir prendreun verre entre amis. La façade n’est pas très attrayante mais la cour intérieure est juste sublime et dépaysante !

Out of all the bars my friends and I hit up during spring break here in Montréal, this one is by far the best. The atmosphere is great, they play awesome music, and it’s not too expensive.
We were put off by the sketchy street, but once inside we were at ease. The waitress was really funny and sweet (she bought us shots!) and the patrons are a good mix of locals and out-​of-​towners like us. I thought the alcohol selection was on point as well. Highly recommended!

Le St Elizabeth, c’est ce petit morceau d’Irlande sur Ste Catherine. Mais bien plus encore.
La première fois, ça surprend. Cette toute petite porte dans cette ruelle sombre… Mais où vais-​je atterrir ?
Jamais on n’aurait pu imaginer que de l’autre côté se trouve un complexe sur deux étages, doté d’une grande terrasse et d’une très belle veranda à l’étage. Certes en continuant Ste Catherine vous trouverez bien mieux si vous êtes à la recherché de la «vraie» ambiance irlandaise… mais au sacrifice de la terrasse… et des petits prix, qui sont ridicules au St Elizabeth: cocktails (mmh le mojito) à 6 $, bières à 4 $ en Happy Hours.
Le service serait un peu à revoir, mais on l’oublie vite.
Quand le bar se remplit le niveau de bruit n’empêche pas les conversations.
En cas de petit creux vous pouvez commander au bar des en-​cas livrés par un autre bar, mais ce n’est clairement pas pour cela qu’on vient ici.

Ce bar veut le détour quand il fit beau. La terasse avec ses plantes vertes au mur. C’est un coin spécial. Par contre quand il fait froid, l’endroit perd tout son charme, car le bar na rien de spécial en soit

This bar features one of the coolest patios in Montréal. We had made some new friends while at the Arcade Fire concert and after the show they helped us navigate our way out of the park via the metro. They suggested we go to this bar for a nightcap. A few nights before while walking around we tried without luck to find this bar, not realizing the entrance was down a small alley. It was fate that we ended up here a few nights later.
We went directly to the patio and found one of the last remaining tables, and a waitress came over right away and took our drink order. The drinks which were strong were also fairly inexpensive. It doesn’t get much better than good drinks, at affordable rates while surrounded by old school architecture with awesome company.
This is a bar that I would frequent if only I lived close enough. I am so glad we were with locals that evening and finally got to see this place. If you find yourself in the area and the weather is nice I suggest you check this place out for yourself.

The terrace is cool, but the service was terrible.
Waitress was curt (borderline rude). We asked what beers they had, she stared blankly and listed a few styles. We chose IPA, but who knows from where. The second beer I ordered, she just never brought. And I don’t think it was because we were Americans – two french-​speaking UQAM students sat down at the next table and left after 20 minutes of no service.
This was the first place we went after driving in from Toronto (since we were staying at the lovely Angelica Blue B&B down the street) and we were worried this was how Montréal was going to treat our freedom-​loving these-colors-don’t-run boy-​howdy American selves. Thankfully, this was not the case – we were respectful and friendly to every other establishment and were treated with absolute graciousness. Not here, though.
Neat spot, but get your act together.

Derrière cette porte noire neutre se cache un autre monde. On arrive à l’interieur de ce pub style irlandais, au décor traditionnel d’un pub mais chaleureux. puis apparaît cette grande cour aux murs immenses recouverts de végétation, qui nous mets au calme de la vie urbaine. On goutte alors à cette bonne bière de fin de journée en dessous des chauffages extérieurs (utiles quand le froid arrive).

Nice pub down a side street. The draft beer selection is okay but not great. Bottles are better.
Terrace is nice. There are lots of places to sit inside.

Rue sans rien de spécial…on rentre et c’est un pub normal, comme beaucoup en Montréal… mais d’un coup on sort al extérieur et on arrive dans un terrasse avec les murs verts, des plantes par toooout montant les mures… et là on respire… on laisse derrière un chaleur étouffante pour profiter de une magnifique brise frais pendant que nous buvons un blanche, un réel plaisir en ville!!!

Grande terrasse, intérieur et sofa bien agréables! Pichet de sangria à déguster avec plaisir!!! :) Ce n’est vraiment pas visible comme bar. On n’y tomberait pas par hasard étant donné qu’on est porté à regarder les autres commerces sur la rue sainte Catherine, à ce niveau.
ça vaut le détour et la musique est entrainante! Par contre, fait bizarre: au lieu de monter le volume de la musique, ils le baissent à partir d’une certaine heure… Etait-​ce exceptionnel à la soirée où j’y suis allée?! … De toute façon, c’était suffisamment agréable pour que je reteste l’endroit et avoir ma réponse… ;)

Beau bar parfait pour les groupes ou meme pour une date. 2 etages, terrasse chauffée, grosses banquettes, décor rustique et chaleureux. Service rapide mais on repassera pour les serveuses souriantes et chaleureuses. Un 5 etoiles pour les drinks/​bieres rapport quantite/​qualite/​prix on trouve pas mieux parce qu’on aime boire mais pas se ruiner pour un drink tsé!
Les salles de bain auraient besoin de ventillateurs, c’est un peu degeux!

Le Saint-​Elizabeth? C’est un petit coin d’Irlande dans l’Est de Montréal, c’est la plus belle terrasse chaleureuse de Montréal, c’est un débit de boisson important du Ghetto UQAM, c’est…
Le populaire établissement comporte deux étages d’éclairage tamisé, le classique bar en mahogany, quelques bières importées et un personnel sympathique. Que demander de plus?

Un bon endroit pour un virer une… avec ses spéciaux 5@7 et les lundis-​mardis avec les pintes de Boréale à 5 $, parfait pour les étudiants au budget serré. La musique y est forte, mais il y a moyen d’avoir une conversation plus normale sur l’étage du bas, avec des tables plus isolées et des banquettes. La terasse vaut le détour!

Let’s get right down to it: the terrace.
Yes, the bar is cool enough. Yes the drinks are reasonably priced. Yes, the people are OK enough going up to a stranger in the men’s room to ask him if he would play wingman for an odious third wheel.

Me: «…Um… With you?»
Two strange men: «No no no! We’re hanging with these two girls, but they have another girl with them.»
Me: «Oh. Ha, no thanks. I’m here with my girlfriend.»

Yes, at Le Sainte Elisabeth, you can get drunk and offer to pimp out strangers free from the glaring, shaming eye of social judgment. But what really MAKES this place is the terrace.
Ensconced by the surrounding buildings, ivy crawling up the very tall brick walls, the terrace at Le Sainte Elisabeth has that hidden-​away feel of a prohibition-​era speakeasy, feels almost like the kind of place that should require a password to keep out the riffraff.
It’s loud, sure, and it’s tightly packed, but sitting there and looking around at the people, the wisps of cigarette smoke, the lights giving life to the leaves dancing in the wind that swirls down into the terrace square, it’s what you’ll need after a long day in a taxing city.

4 stars in the summer on the terrasse and well, lower when not. But really, what a lovely hidden spot. If you’ve never been here before you’ll doubt you’re on the right track, but yes, past Foufounes and all the grit and graffiti and closed doors of this bit of St Catherine, up what feels like a dead end alley, and through a small barely marked door and you;re there. A regular old pub that opens onto an completely enclosed terrasse with ivy-​covered stone walls stretching up the floors above you towards the sky, lots of seating, wooden benches, high-​school era tunes, friendly easy going service, a perfect place to forget how old you are and what time it is and just enjoy. This will help you enjoy the food too which is not bad, but not good pub delivery from a nearby joint.
Inside is fine, just a cozyish pub with the occasional good open mic night.

J’y suis allé deux fois, une fois en hiver une fois en été.
En hiver on été une gang de 20 et on avait réservé, on a eu droit a une belle salle à l’étage et le service était bien.
Cet été c’était lors d’un 5 à 7 Unilocal,nous sommes allés sur la magnifique terrasse à l’arrière. Le service a été super, les bières arrivaient rapidement et malgré le monde ce n’était pas si bruyant que ça.
Pour manger, ce n’est pas eux-​même qui prépare mais un autre restaurant sur ste-​catherine. Malgré ça dans les 10min le repas est servi. Il né faut pas s’attendre à de la bonne gastronomie poutine frite etc sont au RDV, mais en même temps t’es pas dans un bar pour manger équilibré.

Le Sainte Elisabeth est le secret le mieux gardé des Montréalais. Situé dans une rue adjacente à Sainte-​Catherine, il se terre bien dans l’ombré et se cache des touristes.
Si de l’extérieur, le bar n’a l’air de rien, c’est à l’intérieur que se trouve une des plus belles terrasses de Montréal. Nous sommes isolés des bruits du centre-​ville tout en y étant et on se sent bien avec des amis. Leur prix sont très fair dans une section du centre-​ville où habituellement tout est overpriced. En plus on est servi tellement vite par les sympathiques serveuses. Une nous a même offert des shooters gratuits juste parce qu’on avait l’air bien gentils (et je continue de croire qu’il devait y avoir une raison adjacente ce geste là…) .
Donc oui pour le Sainte Elisabeth! Le seul problème? Aller au Sainte Elisabeth et tomber sur des jeunes de 16 ans que tu coaches… Et ça, c’est plutôt awkward. Faudrait peut-​être carter un peu plus? ;)

J’ai été par hasard à ce pub au style européen et sérieusement je né suis pas déçu d’avoir rentré à cet endroit. Le choix des bières est tout simplement gigantesque pour ce type de pub mais surtout abordable. Les bières du Québec entre le lundi au mercredi est environ 3,75 $ pour une pinte et environ 6 – 7 $ pour une pinte de Hoegaarden. Il a des bières d’un peu partout en Europe et en Amérique du Nord. L’endroit est très relax et il y a même une terrasse «secrète » qui est très intéressante et magnifique avec des grandes vignes. Le service est courtois et rapide. Je n’ai vraiment pas été déçu de mon expérience et je crois bien que je vais retourner encore une fois juste pour le plaisir.

La première fois que je suis allée au Saint-​Élisabeth, je né m’attendait vraiment pas à voir la super terasse secrète avec ses murs remplient de vignes. J’adore l’endroit pour son décor, son charme et son ambiance d’abord et avant tout.
En plus d’être un pub typique où l’on se sens bienvenu aseez facilement, le service est bon. Vous avez l’option d’aller chercher vos drinks vous-​même au bar, ou bien vous pouvez relaxer et attendre que quelqu’un vienne prendre votre commande.
La Saint-​Élisabeth est aussi bien pour une soirée entre amis comme premier arrêt pendant un pub crawl, ou pour y passer la soirée entière.
