dive bar with karaōke nights, what’s not to love? the bar is quite small, somewhat cozy with great friendly staff. there’s some slot machines in the back if you want to blow your money. as for alcohol offering, decent liquor selection. as for beer, decent beer I’d say. some Jamaican beer and a disgusting litchi beer(which litchi beer isn’t disgusting?) karaōke nights are fun as they can be when the crowd is big enough and people join in the fun. both times I went, it was fun. nice little gem worth discovering near the market

Small dive bar where you can practice to be your own American Idol(Plateau MTL version) belting out all your favourite tunes. We came here as a small group after dinner and I was amazed how their catalogue of music was quite large. A fellow Unilocaler mentioned to me how you never know what key the song will be in but I guess this adds to the mystery of the performance. I’d recommend this a great place to come with a group of friends who are the karaōke type as its a great place to sip some beers, drink some drinks and bring out your best stage performance. It’s not a pretentious place. Just a local hangout. Drinks, smiles and karaōke. Rock on!

I usually don’t dig karaōke but I’ve come here twice with some friends and we’ve had a good time. Great selection of music but not so much in terms of «delivery» of that music. Ear plugs are advised. The place is as advertised, small and intimate. Just the way you’d want to have a karaōke place to be… after all… you don’t want to embarrass yourself in front of too many strangers, right? They serve alchohol, which is great. but not so much as it lowers inhibitions and people who should never sing, decide they want to sing… a Rihanna song… When the sun shines, we’ll shine together Told you I’d be here forever! Said I’ll always be a friend Took an oath I’ma stick it out ’til the end! Now that it’s raining more than ever Know that we’ll still have each other You can stand under my umbrella You can stand under my umbrella (Ella ella eh eh eh) Under my umbrella! (Ella ella eh eh eh) Under my umbrella! (Ella ella eh eh eh) Under my umbrella! Life is short, come here and have a good time, preferably bring friends, lots of them. Hope they don’t judge you.

Just a small town girl Livin’ in a lonely world She took the midnight train Goin’ anywhere… Okay okay I’ll stop singing now because I can always go to La P’tite Place, an excellent karaōke bar near Jean-Talon metro, for that. The name has to be one of the most literal names I have seen for a business because it really is a petite place. Last spring there had been an Elite event here and I always wanted to come back on a regular night to get a better idea of what the bar was really like. It was just as awesome as it was the first time. The crowd here is lots of fun and the alcohol is cheap. Their beer selection is quite strong as they choose to focus on local beers instead of the usual inexpensive ones like Molson Ex. Their song book is massive so the only problem you will have is narrowing down your choices of song to sing. Also the DJ does a good job of keeping the momentum going by playing lots of retro music videos that are quite catchy and have a good beat to them. This is definitely one of the better places to come to channel your inner rock star.

Friendly people. Kind staff. More opportunities to sing then a larger karaōke establishment. Great place to meet new people in Montréal.

From the exterior, the place doesn’t give too much away. Wait to get in, here’s when the fun starts. The DJ knows what songs to play to keep the crowd always cheering, drinks are tasty and… wine is good(eureka!). Something that’s not often the case for small karaōke pubs. The barmaid was very patient and offered many drinks variations for a same drink, to satisfy my picky needs. Otherwise, the lighting, the 90’s decoration and overall cozy feel of the pub are all reasons why I would go back. I’m thinking about organizing a birthday celebration there with my friends, feel like it would be the perfect venue to have a few drinks and live an intimate experience that’s more original.

Important things I discovered here late last night: — great little selection of some truly awesome local beers! i love love to see this! plus, inexpensive pitchers! — massive song books, but if it’s not in there the KJ will find your song for you, it might take a couple songs but give him time and he can probably play you anything you could ever want to sing. — the KJ’s name is Giz and he doesn’t get up and sing unless you ask him to back you up, and then he reveals that he can freaking harmonize like an angel! — in between karaōke performances Giz plays vintage music videos and amazing weird viral versions of music videos on the screens. it’s excellent. — the late night wednesday crowd of regulars are super friendly and wickedly good at karaōke. — i am right on the edge of being a full fledged karaōke diva addict and the proximity of this place to my place might just push me over. pray for me.
