Frango

3.5… The hubs got the poutine with chorizo and I got the PiriPiri with la soupe du jour: crème du poulet.
The soup was good, I just added a little salt and it was perfect! The chicken on the first piece of the sandwich was good, but on the second half with was dry… Minus 1 star. The poutine was on chips surprisingly, not regular French fries, which was odd but a tasty twist. I loved them. The chorizo was a little dry, minus another star.
+.5 for being a huge bang for your buck, I have to agree that Romados was better, but at least you could sit down in this place and not die of heat exhaustion.

Got it delivered. Chicken was dry, and some of the potatoes were as well. Salad is completely uninspired. I wouldn’t order again considering how many better options there are on the Plateau for authentic Portuguese chicken.

If you want excellent chicken, marinaded in the sweetest of sauces, Frango is the place. The prices are fair (between $ 10-​$ 20) and if you get a chance, order the potatoes. They are absolutely to die for!!!
For the people who say Romados has better chicken, well firstly Frango’s chicken is great and second, you can’t get a seat at Romados. Frango has tables to eat in comfort whereas Romados is based around takeout. Plus I prefer not to wait in long lines for comparable chicken. Ive eaten there twice so far and always walk away as a happy customer.

Un secret trop bien gardé. Très peu connu comme resto, Frango mérite pourtant le détour. Comme son nom l’indique («frango «signifie «poulet «en portugais), la spécialité est le poulet à la portugaise avec sauce douce, piquante ou extra-​piquante, selon les goûts. J’aime bien le fait qu’on peut remplacer les frites par des pommes de terre, succulentes avec la sauce appropriée. Il est également possible de manger des sandwiches au poulet qui sont tout à fait délicieux et parfaits pour le lunch. D’ailleurs, ces sandwiches sont mis de l’avant lors des ventes trottoir sur la rue Mont-​Royal. Ça se mange bien en se promenant dans la rue par un bel après-​midi de printemps.
Le décor fait un peu cafétéria, mais cela donne justement à l’endroit un petit côté «à la bonne franquette «franchement sympathique. D’autant plus que le service est excellent. La dernière fois que j’y suis allé, l’homme qui m’a servi a répondu à mes questions, offert des suggestions et m’a parlé de gastronomie portugaise avec une bonne humeur communicative. Toujours agréable d’avoir un service chaleureux et de qualité.
