I purchased a discount massage on-line through Living Social and made an appointment with Maud. This was but one of quite a few massages I’ve purchased at similar discounts through Living Social, Vie Urbaine and the like. I’ve been receiving massage mostly to deal with lower back problems for several decades, mostly through another provider whom I’ve been seeing in another city for the last 15 years. Maud started by interviewing me briefly and taking notes in order to discern exactly how to proceed with the therapy. The massage was fabulous and I’ve been seeing her bi-weekly for the last several months. Not only is her work wonderful, but they offer discount cards for multiple visits. When I make an appointment for the next treatment, I find that I receive a confirmation by email before I’ve even left the building and that is followed up by a reminder the day before the actual appointment.(Because of the discount cards offered, I’ve rated them as inexpensive. They certainly are not cheap.)

I bought a massage deal over Living social. I booked online the week before. When I confirmed, the site named a massage therapist. When I arrived at my appointment the owner was busy talking to someone. He did not acknowledge me standing there. That’s ok. He then proceeded to talk to someone else who came into the room after me. Still no acknowledgement. Not so ok. This is not my complaint! When he finally addressed me, he could not find my appointment anywhere. He asked me if I received an email confirmation. I did not have one. I should have thought of this but felt that since I received a massage therapist name at the time of booking my appointment, it should be ok. Nevertheless, he did not seem concerned for me or apologetic that I drove 25 mins to get there, I parked and I was standing there already 25 mins. I had to suggest calling other therapists, seeing if there was a cancelation. Honestly, he couldn’t care less. He repeatedly told me that I should check before coming to an appointment. He made me feel like this was my fault. I asked him how he could compensate me for my time and effort coming. He rudely said«you only paid 30 $, you want more of a discount»!!! Wow!!! I was appalled! I explained that it’s not about the money, but about customer service, respect for my time. He again let me know I should have checked before coming. When I said that I have zero interest to come back, he said good, you can get a refund online!!! What a jerk! Good luck to him if this is how he treats his clients. Hmmm, maybe I deserve it since I only spent 30 $ ! My bad!!!
