Centre Père Sablon

I signed up for an aquaform class here and have been super happy with it! I find the cost vs value to be great, and the location is perfect for me, right around the corner from home. The facilities themselves are clean and well maintained, exactly what I would expect from YMCA-​type organization. My only complaint is that the building is a little bit maze like, so unless the gym or other room you are looking for is right on the main floor, you’ve got a bit of searching to do. There is signage, but with multiple different looooooong hallways and stairwells, and multiple changing rooms, you’re bound to take a wrong turn from time to time. Thankfully the staff are all friendly and helpful and don’t hesitate to point you in the right direction.
Although I haven’t made use of it yet, in signing up for a class you need to purchase a yearly membership card (pretty standard), that entitles you to free swim. Nice! They seem to have lots of different options, from a monthly free for as many classes as you want, to weight room and cardio machine use for a few, to individual classes. I like that there are multiple options for people who don’t necessarily want the whole shebang.

This is a sports center with a 25 meter pool, gym, various classes. They’ve recently renovated. The pool has limited lap-​swim hours and the administration is not very responsive when problems come up, but the price is right (nominal yearly pool-​use fee). The pool is surprisingly uncrowded for the morning swim. Judo, gymnastics, swimming classes for kids have been great.
