This is a Great grocery store but it’s a bit hard getting in and out of the parking lot and finding parking I suggest to go early in the morning. This store has a great selection of high end fruits and vegetables. This is a Italian store so they have a lot of Italian goods that you cant find anywhere else. From what Ive noticed a lot of older people work here but theyre all friendly and welcoming. Prices are a bit higher than places like No Frills but then you are getting better quality so you pay for what you get. I will definitely be back here, I recommend this place to those who shopping in higher end grocery stores.

I went to your store last week for lunch during my break and experienced horrible customer service. I had to ask two different workers about what hot soup they had ready and neither of them could give me an answer. I was frustrated because I was in a hurry so I switched my lunch choice to pizza, which once again I had an issue with. I had to wait 5 – 10 minutes and still no one served me so I had to ask them myself if I could be helped. The lady was frustrated with me asking for a slice for a pizza(which she improperly packaged which resulted in half of my pizza of the FLOOR within seconds of leaving the store). Very unsatisfied with my service.

I planned a shopping trip around this place thanks to the reviews on Unilocal.but left the store disappointed and empty handed. For the products I was looking for they had the same selection as everywhere else, nothing special, just more expensive. I’ve grown up going to an independent Grocer so maybe I’m just spoiled, but to me this was just a run of the mill independent and overpriced grocer with not much special to offer and nothing extraordinary in the way of atmosphere either. I was not looking for fruit or meat, so I can’t speak on the quality or selection there, though I hear good things. I honestly regretted coming here. Maybe if I had gone in with different/lower expectations I would have liked them more.

This grocery store has been in my shopping rotation for years and it’s never changed for probably 5 + years and that’s a good thing! The vegetable and fruits are the best quality in Mississauga. It is also one of the most expensive too. The deli, cheese, and baked bread is also the best. Sadly I can’t say the same for their seafood area. The store is fairly small when you compare it to other markets. It’s probably just over half the size of a Longos. This particular store is also pretty old but it is super clean and well maintained. It’s well laid out and you’re never having a frantic moment where you think you’re going to be run over by a cart. The vegetables are all very fresh and they do carry some unique items. When I went they had heirloom tomato, baby artichoke, 3 types of mushrooms that I rarely see, rainbow beets, and purple potato. They’re constantly replenishing the vegetables throughout the day so there is always good selection. The fruit area is large and they have probably over 10 types of Ontario apples available right now. They also had black mission figs, guava, passion fruit, yellow kiwi, and these giant yellow flesh melons. All of them were very fresh and nothing looked like it was under ripe or ready to start rotting. The only thing missing from the vegetable and fruit area is an assortment of organic items. The aisles are filled with a huge variety of olive oils, balsamic vinegar, pasta, sauces, coffee, and cookies from Europe. There are times where I just stand in the aisle in awe of the 40 high end balsamic vinegar choices. The coffee and tea selection is better than any other place in Mississauga. They carry specialities like Mighty Leaf, the entire Illy offering(not just the espresso), the entire offering of Twinnings(it’s like 15 + types) and amazing coffees. The baked breads is better than ACE. They’re warm when you pick them up in the morning and they have the perfect crunchy crust with a soft interior. The French, calabrese, and sour dough are all great choices. The cakes and pasties are just ok. Most of them are brought in. They do carry Dufflet! They have a large selection of deli meats, fresh cheese, and packaged around the world. I live getting prosciutto here. They have over 10 types! I love the cheese area. I’ve yet to try a quarter of what they offer and I usually pick at least 2 new types I come here. The smoked Jarlsburg, jalapeño harvarti, and the fresh buffalo mozzarella from Italy are my favorites so far. As for the fresh meats, it’s a miss on the seafood but a big hurray on the butcher. I bought tilapia once here and to be honest, I was so disgusted with the smell of it that I threw it out when I opened it at home. It was not fresh at all. Seafood is a tiny space here and I do not believe they do fast turnover of the filets. The beef is good quality. I’ve never had a bad piece yet. The check out area is super quick and I’ve never waited more than 5 minutes. They are also friendly and at ease of making small talk. Overall, I think this is a fantastic store to find great selection, specialized Italian items, and top quality bread, pastas, fruits, deli, cheese, and vegetables. It’s definitely one of my favourite grocery stores even though my wallet preferred it wasn’t.

This is the only Michael-Angelo’s in the area, anyone who’s anyone comes here. And if you don’t come here, you’re just plain crazy not to. Absolutely Love coming here and getting a lot of fresh groceries and I love the fact how they have a lot of products and ingredients from Italy. Of course Michael-Angelo would always have them. I always have to get the fresh meats and cold cuts from the deli here. Along with some desserts and gelato to take Home, why not? The only small downfall here is that it is a tad bit more expensive but it is worth it, especially if you’re looking for something specific that you couldn’t find at No Frills ;) The staff here is very nice and helpful, If you need Any help finding anything, you can always go to them. Michael-Angelo’s just blows Highland farms, and Loblaws out of the water, in my opinion. And it’s just a big plus for me that it’s not that far away from me. I don’t just don’t know why I haven’t been checking in here before… but that’ll change soon.
This is a fantastic grocery store. I do think it is probably the best one Mississauga has(though Highland Farms, Planet Organic, and Battaglias are great as well). This one has a HUGE produce section, that is all very very good quality. As well like other reviewer mentioned, they have other great departments as well. I’m just particularly impressed with the produce department, as it is great for vegetarians! Customer service is outstanding, they have tons of employees everywhere that are very helpful. I did notice that I was the youngest person there, I have visited 3 times now, but that may be the time and day that I visit? There are always older and wealthy looking people shopping there. Don’t let the the luxury cars in the parking lot fool you, this place was not overpriced, it’s comparable to Loblaws.

The major grocery stores have pretty well lost most of my business as a result of their growing indifference to quality and variety. Fortunately there’s a great independent grocer in Mississauga that has gained most of our food budget. To me, their particularly strong departments are the produce, deli, grocery and fresh meat and seafood. Volume is fundamental to fresh food quality and this store appears to sell significantly more produce and meat than the much larger stores. This allows them to operate more effectively which creates value for customers. They also substantially reduce prices on any items approaching their best-before date which makes them considerably more affordable overall. There’s one other significant distinction, their friendly and competent people. They uniformly display, no, exude genuine personal interest in both food and service quality. At busy times, like on weekends and before holidays when customers are pressed for time, every check out is open and staffed with a cashier and a packer. Where else do you see that?
