I have no complaints about the blinds themselves, they seem decent. However, I do have a problem with the company’s abuse of personal information. When buying my blinds, I was asked for contact information so of course I asked how it would be used. The employee told me my email address would be used to notify me my order was ready, which was handy because I could see my email while at work and pick my order up on the way home. I asked it my information would be used for marketing purposes and the employee told me no.
So sure enough, about a week after I pick up my blinds, I start receiving Blinds to Go spam. Then I started constantly receiving their flyers in the mail, which involves taking them in to shed them since they have my personal information on them, I cannot simply toss them in a recycle bin. I have requested that they remove me from their marketing lists, but they claim there are too many people with my name and I need to send them an order number … why would I keep that information? There are other similar stores that do not abuse personal information, so I have been taking my business there and will never return to Blinds to Go ever again.
The moral of the story? You need to give them personal information to be notified when your order is ready, so to avoid having your information abused, all you can do is not shop there in the first place.
