The Wee Chippie Fish & Chips

Just horrible. We went there over a year ago when they re-​opened at this (new) location. The cod (fish) was quite tasty and the fries not overdone either. We said the next time we are in Mission and crave F&C we would come here. The place though, as you can see from their website really looks awful inside and unwelcoming.
Over the last six to eight months, we heard some negative comments about this place. This area (Mission) doesn’t have many reviews on Unilocal.We thought that maybe people visited Wee Chippie on and off day and hence that was why it wasn’t good.
The second time we visited, recently (in May 2015) we found it was very different than before. The fries were overdone, the fish was bitter with a doughy batter taste to it. The price was really high. The coleslaw was a major rip off. It was like a cabbage milk soup, it was gross as well and tiny, especially for a large size which wasn’t large at all. That set us back over $ 6 for just the coleslaw. We should’ve walked out a bit and went to KFC to pick up their slaw instead.
All and all, this has become one of the worst fish and chips places we have been. It’s really a shame they are running a restaurant like this. I guess that’s Mission for you.

Do you like fresh light batter on nice sized pieces of fish that are fresh, served with chips that are the proper size to fry and still hold a potato flavor to absorb the vinegar or hold the tartar sauce?
