I was there on Saturday, May 28th around 2:30pm and ordered a mango slush with tapioca. The employee(male, 20s, Harry Potter glasses) took my order, and then asked how I would like to pay. I said credit, and he said he didn’t take it, which is fine. He said they only take debit, which I had in my hand and reassured him that it was debit. I paid, it was approved and then he proceeded to tell me he didn’t take debit and shook his head at me. Then tried to tell me again he didn’t take debit, scolded me, and didn’t seem to realize my card already went through. He then proceeded to talk shit about me in Chinese to his co-worker right in front of me. Little did he know, I was watching him the whole time. When I finally received my drink, I didn’t get the tapioca I had ordered. He said, «I asked you and you said no» I received one of the worst customer service experiences at your store. He was rude, disrespect and confrontational. I will never return to your store again based on this experience and will make sure I tell everyone I know the service I received.

Came here today at 11am which is when they claim to open but the employee told me they weren’t serving any drinks yet. He said they were waiting on «some inspector to show up first«and that he had no idea when he would come. Persistent, I stuck around the mall for a while and went back to check at 12. Still wasn’t opened. I was highly disappointed and left.

Nothing like an icy cold Mango Slush to cool you down on a long thirst building trek around Pacific Mall. And of course, you need something to wash down the Chinese Waffles. Ok, who am I trying to fool… I often stop at the mall JUST for a Mango Slush!

Forgive me, for I have switched Bubble Tea allegiance! I was going strong with Green Grotto for several years, and now I have returned to the arms of Ten Ren’s. I am a traitor, punish me if you must! The last time I was at a Ten Ren’s several years ago, I was treated to the misfortune of seeing tea diluted with water in front of my eyes. I gave it another shot recently, and it seems like they have streamlined their processes across all stores to ensure the quality of the product is consistent. As always, my go-to is Lychee Green Tea with Tapioca. I love the floral jasmine notes in the tea. It really makes the brew fresh, and light. Also, they don’t shake the tea here. Instead they pulse it in an industrial blender. I think I like it better this way, because the tea becomes extra foamy, and all the bubbles that surface to the top help release the perfume of the tea. A winner in my books!

I was very disappointed to discover that this location no longer upholds the Ten Ren standard. The tapioca was undercooked and unsweetened, and there was far too much tea in my milk green tea. The Ten Ren franchise maintains its standards by implementing various controls(e.g. in-flow of ingredients, precise and simple measuring instruments), but even then this location managed to egregiously under deliver. I hope they do better next time.

Love their bubble teas. They are refreshing, not too sweet and taste natural. Service was quick. Prices are average. Similar to other Ten Ren locations in the US. Loads of flavor options and aromatic teas. The tapioca are always the perfect consistency. They have a nice chew and weren’t overly sweet or soggy.

Don’t you just love it when you go to a business or restaurant for one thing, and then try/do something you didn’t expect and it blows you mind? I certainly do, nothing beats an unexpected surprise — that’s what I experienced at Ten Ren Tea & Ginseng Company Ltd last night. A colleague and I had decided to use this location to have a business meeting. It was an odd hour, sometime between lunch and dinner, so we entered the surprisingly busy restaurant with the intention of talking shop over some bubble tea. We were seated immediately by a friendly server and offered a great spot to do work when we mentioned what we were here to do some work. Handed the menu then I was faced with the same problem I always have when ordering bubble tea — What the heck am I going to choose from this massive menu. Time progressed and we procrastinated with our menu selection, however the staff were not pushy and told us to take our time. We decided on a couple of bubble tea flavours to carry us through the meeting. He: Lychee flavoured tea with Tapioca balls Me: Apple flavoured tea with Lychee Jelly’s(MYFAVVVVIII!) The tea’s arrive quickly and promptly and were DELISH! However, we both realized we were starving and asked our server for her recommendation. After a few fact finding questions(beef, pork or chicken, Rice or noodles), she suggested we both try their beef and noodle soup and we both agreed to give it a whirl. BESTDECISIONEVER! So fresh and delicious. This beef and noodle soup came with freshly cut up carrots, cilantro and a whole bulb of steamed bok choi floating amidst the wonderfully seasoned stewed pieces of beef. Between all the veggies, beef, spicy soup and noodles it was almost too much to finish but we pushed through and made it to the end. The best thing was that with all that the bill was very reasonable(my colleague paid under $ 35 for the both of us). All in all a great experience and I am glad that what I came in for led me to trying something I never would have expected I would love. Will be back again — Hungry!
