Billy Miner Neighbourhood Pub

Suggested by a friend.
Asked for two samplers of beers. Both out!
Tried a traditional one, flat.
Asked for a «non”-spicy Mushroom pizza.
Beer sausage completely overpowered the mushrooms and cheese.
Commented that their wifi wasn’t working.
Response was someone more technical would get back to me.
Didn’t happen.

This use to be my favourite spot. What has happened to it.?over 1.5 hrs for wings and corn bread! No butter oh wait that will be another half hour. OH yes and no sauce for wings. By the time the condiments arrives stuff was stone cold. Seriously and you have to pay for this? are zero stars available…

Love the Billy minor pub it’s an old-​style old-​school pub building that’s probably 100 years old really beautiful old place by the river excellent scenery excellent seating good pizzas really good food and good beer very unique and one-​of-​a-​kind atmosphere you’re not gonna find any Worldstar all the staff are always really happy to serve you always look like you’re having a good time and it’s just a great place to go with some friends and have a beer so if you’re in the area stop in the Billy minor I’m sure you won’t be disappointed

Awesome burgers and awesome pizza. By far the best in Maple Ridge. Prices are reasonable and the place has a great feel.
If you’re in the area, go here, and you won’t be sorry.

This is one of our friends favourite spots and we meet up with them there. They had been there 45 minutes and seen the waitress once and were waiting to order another round of drinks. I had to go to the bar to order and then when she finally came we ordered one more drink and a half hour later after we had been completely ignored and we had to go to the bar again to pay they tried to charge us for the drink that never came. The food and drinks weren’t anything to write home about either. We ended up at another pub.

One of my favorite spots in town! Love the beer selection — ever changing — cheap Growler fills, amazing burgers and pizza. The service is very hit or miss however — I have had absolutely terrible waiters more than once and the lack of uniform or personal cleanliness is slightly concerning, however the food and drink always keeps me coming back.

This is a long standing traditional pub on the river. It is consistent. Food is okay pub fare. Service is fine. They have renovated and opened up outdoor seating which is so wonderful in good weather. Love the views. Great place to be casual and join up with local friends for a brew.

Not as good as before… what happened to the yummy fries? Not really worth it besides the beer selection. Darn.
And waaay over priced. Not satisfied, the sever didn’t seem to care much.

This place has tons of personality. The location is great with a pleasant view. The beers are plentiful and the staff are superb. The food is ok, not bad, but nothing to write about. Otherwise I would have given them the full fiver. Enjoy!

The billy miner pub is a good pub the got hoot food they gots pizza and beer and hamburgers and French fries and dry ribs and turkey sandwiches the staff are all really nice per say and the will give you a nice Smolensk when you walk in and ask to be seated they will also smile when you ask for your food the billy miner pub is good for families and children too sobering everybody because everybody will enjoy the billy miner pub per say…

I so wanted to love this place… loads of character, live music and plenty of craft beers on tap to select but… the food? We even tried this twice before my review.
The menu looks fantastic. Great food ideas and ample selection but tasteless poorly prepared and over priced. I don’t care so much about the «over priced» part and will return for the beer selection but this place would rock if they fired the cook.
Note: I only tried the waffles, pizza and some kind of deep fried peppers. Maybe I’ll give the burgers a shot and update this review. BTW the staff rock… very helpful and friendly :)

Great beer, great food, great bar tenders. Wish they would stay open a bit later … Last time we went, they were supposed to close at midnight as per the Internet. We phoned and heard the bartender arguing with the server who said they were closing at 10 (on a Saturday) whereas the bartender said they were staying open until later. Sounded like the server won that argument because they closed a busy pub at 10:30 on a Saturday. That was a little disappointing but may be some issues with management. Other than that, great place to grab a pint and some grub.

Food was awesome, had the 3:10 to Yuma burger with the house salad. They also have a huge selection of tap beers which is amazing, but found they were a little pricey at 8.75 a pint!
Service was good, savannah was our waitress.

Excellent Sunday brunch! Totally impressed with the food. Officially the best fries in gvr! The burgers too were impressive! Amazing poutine & yam fries !
Cool beer selection, even for me & I’m not a beer drinker.

Great little bar, love the beer selection, although could have more new local flavours. Good food, could use a few more healthy appy options, and a cocktail menu for sure. Good pizza and poutines.

Despite looking like a total hole-​in-​the-​wall, the Billy Miner is a great place to hangout with friends, enjoy great beer and good food. Their pizzas and burgers are both fantastic, as is the house salad (both huge and tasty) and they have tons of options to suit everyone’s tastes, as well as a beer menu of about 30 taps. We like to go when we’ve got lots of time on our hands because you can always knock a few ‘I’d like to try that’ beers off your list and enjoy some delicious nosh all at once.

Needed a real burger … Was off work early on a Thursday called up a friend and off we went. I’ve been several times over the past 2 years even took my parents once. Every time you have been able to count on your burger being truly top notch. Large expertly cooked and assembled and great taste none of this frozen patty dry bun pub shit here .
Went w the bell ringer meat w more meat in the form of pulled pork and jalapeño chips and hot sauce … I’m a larger dude so I also added a extra patty to mine you won’t need to don’t worry but I put food back like its a job there all so good, you can’t compare these to a red robin or white spot this is well beyond there spec and as soon as it hits the table this is very clear .
Got a pitcher of fat tug IPA to wash it down super cold in a frosted glass pitcher so much WIN the pizza is great as well and after the burger I needed one :) chicken bacon in a homemade garlic white sauce w red onion I believe thin crust cooked crispy w tons of toppings I don’t even like pizza from your normal take out sources but these make it hard not to order often. Some how I made all of this disappear as well like I said its a gift.
If the place is busy and any time after 6 it will be you need to help the wait staff by being ready w your order quickly and knowing what your after if your slow and unsure you could be served in the same manner …

I always have the wings pizza and chilli here at the Billy. But today we went outside of the box and tried the The Sweet Battered Bird/​chicken and waffles as well as the Famous Billy burger. The chick and waffs were fantastic. The waffles stuffed with bacon, pecan syrup. The chicken was Crisp and flavourful. Lots of spice. The waffle was extra crispy and not fluffy in the centre as I thought it would be. The burger was really big. Tried to push it down to fit in my mouth but it didn’t compact much. A must eat with two hands. Smothered in BBQ sauce the pulled pork on the burger was delicious! Very messy but a good burger always is. Kronenbourg 1664 blanc beer is back and very tasty.

Called in a pizza for takeout from the Pizza Café for the first time tonight! Been wanting to try it!
Ordered the «Homemade Sausage» (homemade marinara, Italian beer sausage, caramelized onions, oven roasted red peppers topped with whole milk mozzarella — $ 17). Picked it up (got $ 3 off for takeout, which was a nice surprise!) and it was nicely packaged in a plain brown pizza box with the Alehouse/​Café logo stamped on it, tied with twine. So pretty and very much in keeping with the cool, artisanal vibe they’ve got going on.
The café itself is very small, but comfy & clean. Fresh baked goods (muffins, cookies, cakes, scones, etc) were also for sale, and the art on the chalk menu boards was fantastic! A very nice visual package, overall.
Got the pizza home and was eager to try it, since it smelled delicious! The crust was very very thin, with limited sauce (which I love! Too much sauce = bad pizza) and perfect crispy edges. Great combination of tastes, with the savory sausage vs the sweetness of the peppers. I’d definitely order it again (though I’d probably want to try something else, like the pulled pork pizza!).
Definitely worth another visit! Perhaps in the pub to try some fancy dancy beers.

I have to say that I love the beer selection more than anything else here. Does that say something about me? Beeeeeeeeer. Glorious beer!
The food is not bad and I do love their chilli. My only problem is the service. They tend to ignore unless you start waving your arms around. So wave your arms, order a beer, and be prepared to wait for your food.
