The food here was honestly the most disgusting I had ever tasted before. The enchilada sauce was really off putting :-(

Great for lunch and dinner and even better for breakfast. Under the volcano offers delicious option for breakfast. Some are breakfast burritos and skillets and the huevos rancheros. Eggs, potatoes and toast are a staple. The coffee has a little cinnamon which is a nice change from the everyday Timmies. Good for kids, this place should be a go to for all those that want something a bit different than that of eggs and toast.

Ate here for the fifth time and it was great as always! I had never had Paella and it was really good! Shrimp, chorizo and chicken on rice. We keep eating here for a reason! My husband recommends the blackened tilapia and the Baja Bites are always a great choice! I would say the desserts are great but we’ve never had room to try them! The parking lot is small and fills up quick! If you love Mexican food and a quirky atmosphere give them a try!

I love Under the Volcano. I’ve been to the new location as well as the old(usually when I have a groupon) and it’s just so delicious! Last night I was able to try some new things! Our appetizers were the Chorizo and Black Bean Dip and the Baja Bites. The Black Bean dip was AWESOME, the portion was huge(we ran out of chips and tortillas) and super delicious. It was the perfect amount of spicy! I have ordered the baja bites and they are delicious, cheesy goodness. The resemble the taquitos sold at costco, except WAY better. I ordered the flauta, which is basically a Mexican spring roll. It was perfect as usual and the fries here are awesome! My fiancée ordered the shrimp paella, which he devoured and could not stop talking about for the rest of the night. Dessert was awesome. If you’ve never had deep fried ice cream, try it! It’s the perfect size for sharing! The ice cream was a fantastic vanilla bean wrapped in a honey, cinnamon and oatmeal coating. Delicious! Service was phenomenal as usual! Our waitress was attentive and polite! And she knew to bring us take out containers for our leftovers!

Based on a delivery experience, I must say that I was quite pleased and very satisfied with the quality, quantity and value of our order at Under The Volcano. Feeding a group of 6, we were more than happy with the nachos, fajitas and enchiladas — I especially liked the home made nacho chips. A great addition to the order. I will try this place again for their authentic Mexican dishes — next time will be at their location!

My experience here was ok, the service was a little shabby. The starters were great(free freshly made warm tortilla chips with pico and I also got free Baja bites from their website promo). The setting is very warm and inviting, it would be a good location for a group dinner. I would probably give Under the volcano another shot

A little out of the way from the Richmond Row but good Mexican food. Very casual and great take out area.

I wouldn’t say it was authentic Latin food. More like Canadianized Latin food. But it is very good. Lots of upgrade options. You can choose from chicken, beef, pork, fish or steak. And their spicy is very spicy. The prices are expensive. I’ve eaten lots of authentic Latin food, I expect a burrito to cost $ 4 – 10. At this place they are $ 15. The portion is large though, I’ll give them that. And appears to all be home made. Even their coffee is delicious, they use a hint of cinnamon in it. I’d give them five stars if they were cheaper.

Under the Volcano had a very relaxed atmosphere that was perfect for a late lunch. There was no shortage of delicious food with a plethora of options to choose from the regular menu in addition to their lunch menu. I got the Poquita Fajitas with steak off the lunch menu along with a Dos Equis to complement. The homemade salsa and chips before the meal was very tasty and a wonderful way to start the meal. The service was very quick and the food arrived within ten minutes of ordering. The portions were reasonable for the amount you pay for the meal and tasted very appetizing. In addition, if there are any hot sauce enthusiasts, the extra hot habanero sauce will add an extra kick to spice up your meal. Overall, this is a superb place to grab a bite if you are craving mexican food in London.

Great food welcomed by home made salsa and chips to feed on before your meal arrives. Cozy inside and a good fit for their food, they have different table sizes for everyone, but space is a bit limited so get there on time. The food is quite consistent so if you come back you know what to expect. I recently visited back with my girlfriend and the waiter was amazing. Friendly, made you feel welcome, gave you free space yet came by regularly to check on the food, refills and gave us extra salsa for our entrees because the salsa paired so well. He was also excellent with suggesting options with anything we asked, I wish all waiters or waitresses were like this when we go out for dinner, it made everything very enjoyable.

I’ve always wanted to try this place, and finally did in December 2014. The service was great, the food not so much. I got the chicken enchiladas and wasn’t impressed.

I finally bit the bullet and came here for dinner last night. The server was nice, the food was ok but… it just wasn’t REAL Mexican food. It reminded me of like El Torito or those other American chains that say they serve Mexican food. I was a little disappointing when I got the burrito. It tasted good but they don’t mention anywhere that it’s actually a wet burrito, and that the wet burrito doesn’t use the sauce as normal wet burritos. The portion sizes were a nice size, but pretty small for the price, especially since Mexican food in general is pretty cheap. Overall, I’m not sure I would come back for a 15 dollar burrito. This place also gives you a healthier spin on Mexican food, which would work if there wasn’t so much cheese that it will clog up your insides for at least a day. You’re still going to be full in the morning, but not in a good way. The fries are actually the start of the meal so if you do happen to go, make sure you get a side of fries. Overall, probably one of the better Mexican places in London but not worth the money.

Food is decent. I got the fajitas which were not bad, although the shrimp was really tough and overcooked. It’s also overpriced for the quality you get. The staff were friendly once we were seated, although they completely ignored us for the first 5 minutes after we walked in the restaurant. We thought it was odd they didn’t even acknowledge us and give us an estimate for the wait time.

Enjoyed this place. The fajitas were decent. I like the steaming sizzling plates of meat and veg with an abundance of fixins, but I didn’t get that Under the volcano. Nice staff. I’ll go back.

Under the Volcano has moved house several times over the years, but the sangria still tastes great! The service was excellent and everything we ordered was excellent. The location seems a bit strange but I hope they stick around. The menu includes gluten free options and I highly recommend the gluten-free tortilla chips with fresh guacamole. There’s free parking and a patio for warmer weather. Friendly, enthusiastic staff help make this a great go-to.
