As soon as we walked in we were seated quickly, customer service as everyone has mentioned could be better. A little more explenation on what foods they offer and serving amounts and how the side dishes(eg. Rice, Nan Bread, Vegtables, Salad) are not included in your meal as regular restaurants. In regards to the price, as per the restaurants name this was a «fine» dine experience. The food tasted exceptional! We tried the $ 32 three course meal, my partner had Chicken Tikka as an appetizer, Chicken Vindaloo along with small portions of masala, rice and salad. I personally tried the lamb Rogan Josh along with a garlic nan as a seperate order. Overall the food was great and left with a satisfied feeling in the belly. I would definitely come again.

I ordered a butter chicken for takeout and was happy with the time it took and the portion size. It was ready before I arrived and there wasn’t a long wait to make the actual pickup. The portion size is large and they didn’t skimp on the chicken pieces; I counted 8 large chunks and lots of sauce. It tasted good — but I could really make out the tomato base used over the other spices. In fact for the sauce it was predominantly tomato flavoured. It would have been more appealing to me if there was a better blend of spices used. Overall, pretty good.

I’ve traveled to London many times for business. I’ve always eaten at the same place for Indian — but tried Raja on a whim and enjoyed it. The dining room is very pleasant, and the staff was very attentive and courteous. I had the chicken vindaloo which was very good. I would come back. I think I like it more than my regular place.

My wife and I went here on a Friday night, and we were pleasantly greeted and seated with no reservations. The atmosphere is nice and classy, and they have nice little patios for warm nights, albeit with limited seating. Good drinks, and the food is delicious. We ordered several dishes to share — Lamb Vindaloo, Chicken Pasanda, and Panear(I probably spelled at least one wrong). They warned us that the Vindaloo was extremely hot, but neither of us felt it was, as we both love hot food. The flavours were deep and rich. The sauces were expertly prepared and filled the entire room with beautiful Indian aromas. The wait staff were a little timid and seemed serious but did have a sense of humour by the end. All in all a worthwhile trip. My only criticism is the music. I love Indian music, but this stuff sounded odd and didn’t suit the mood. In fact, when we came in, we sat in utter silence for a good portion of the evening before they put on anything at all. Other than that, tasty!

Finally an Indian restaurant in London, which has the most home-like mother’s-food ever! I have been in London for almost 3 years and yet, I couldn’t find a restaurant that properly spiced their food. I ordered simple tarka daal and rice, prawn tikka, and lassi. The food was delivered within an hour, costed pretty reasonable and satisfied my cravings while I prepped for my PhD comps! Excellent food and service! I recommend them anytime you have a hankering for Indian cuisine!

I have eaten here a number of times and consistently been disappointed with the service. Specifically, the time it takes to be served and very little attention during the meal. The food has been good but the long waits for service have clouded the experience. Tonight I decided to give them a try one more time but after waiting 20mins at the table for a server to come by I decided to leave. If you go you can expect a very long wait.

From my visit on September 2013: Even though we had made a reservation, our group was asked to move to a «VIP area» to accommodate for a larger group coming in. The VIP area was a very cold room, and was shared with another group who were very loud. We could hardly hear each other talk. The service was piss poor. It took another 30 minutes for the server to come take our order. He had a bad attitude and was very dismissive when we asked questions about the menu. Among other things, he had a problem with the fact that we were going to pay separately-but he ended up allowing us to do so. The food took another 30 – 40 minutes to arrive. If you like spicy Indian food, this is not the place to go. We tried the butter chicken, korma and tikka and it was all too sweet — like dessert! None of the dishes on the menu came with rice or naan, which had to be ordered separately. This was definitely a first for me at an Indian restaurant(and I’ve been to many). For such a pricey restaurant, I would’ve expected the food to be of better quality. We were very disappointed in our experience at Raja’s and would recommend you go elsewhere if you want some good Indian food.

This restaurant got me hooked onto Indian food. Not only was the menu solid but the atmosphere was very refined and the service was friendly and helpful. The lamb rogan josh was savory, rich in flavor, and had a good amount of spice. I also greatly enjoyed the eggplant bharta. It is a bit more expensive, but I found it is worth the price; I won’t be making it a regular dining experience but instead reserved for a more special occasion.

I tried this place out of curiosity to see how it would stack up against the other Indian restaurants that are fairly close by. I can say that the service was very polite and the place looks nicely furnished and decorated inside. But the most important aspect(the food) was a little lacking. I started with the vegetable pakora as an appetizer and although it was virtually greaseless(something I definitely appreciate), it was very bland. I then had the chicken jhalfrezie with rice and naan. The naan was nice and the rice was fine. But my chicken was hard and dry and the sauce it came in tasted overcooked. A strange addition to the dish was jalapeño peppers rather than the smaller Indian green chili peppers. The jalapenos gave the dish the heat that it needed but it gave the dish a slightly different flavour that I didn’t quite like(to me, it tasted a little strange in an Indian curry). For dessert, I had coconut ice cream/sorbet than came in a coconut shell. It tasted fine but it was forgettable. To be fair though, perhaps I didn’t try one of their ‘better’ dishes as I’ve had not-so-great food at all the Indian places here in London. With the slightly high prices though, I won’t exactly be rushing back to this place.
