Spageddy Eddy’s is by far, awful. I will admit I did not eat inside the restaurant, as it is on parallel with a piss-smelling alley with a walk-through of people that I normally do not associate with. — Food — The food is average. Just kidding. It’s probably worse. It’s cheap pasta, watery sauce that tastes like Hunt’s out of a can. The garlic bread is cheap bread with pre-made seasonings. The chicken is brought in frozen, as confirmed by the staff, nothing is made fresh in house anymore. I think I will pass on micro-waved food. I’ll leave this place to people that have a palate so mute that they cannot tell what is frozen and what is fresh. — Service — Well. I did order it to go, so I am unsure of the service. On the plus side, I got a piece of Bubble Gum. — Overall — Save your time and money. Do not waste your time going here. I went on a recommendation of a friend and it turned out to be a mistake. He is no longer my friend. We are simply co-workers now. Don’t lose your friendships like I did.

One of my favourite local restaurants. Not in the best location but worth it. Great old style antique atmosphere and great serving staff. The menus are even old record covers! how cool is that? Food is very reasonably priced with large servings. Try the spaghetti and meatballs. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

When I was in London last november, I was craving for some pasta. I asked few people about where I can enjoy a good Italian meal and most of them told me «You gotta go to Eddy’s». Let me tell you that this restaurant was worth it! The food was delicious but the only critical point that I would have is related to the lack space

I always leave full, but never truly satisfied. The portions are huge! The pasta sauce is mediocre. The décor is very odd… but in a good way. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a resturant that thinks outside the box. They serve your drinks in humongous mason jars. They drop buns from the ceiling to your table. It sort of feels like down inside of a pirate ship. The food is just bland and flavorless. If you like Ragu pasta sauce then you will probably like this place. Just don’t go in expecting your tastebuds to get a workout.

Great pasta options! Forget about the chains! You get a lot of pasta that tastes better for less. Plus where else is your food kept on pulley system?

Ever since starting university and exploring downtown more often, I frequently come here for lunch/dinner dates because it’s so conveniently in front of one of the biggest busing areas(Richmond and Dundas). It does seem a little sketchy first going down the alley way, but the inside of the small restaurant is very homey and comforting. The lighting is pretty dim but it’s still pretty cool to look at the old fashioned pictures on the wall. The service has always been great — friendly waitress and food comes within 5 – 10 minutes of ordering. They don’t let you share a bowl of pasta since the prices are already very cheap(~$ 5 – 8 for a huge bowl of pasta). The quality of the pasta itself is exactly like a homecooked dish but that in itself is what makes the customers feel at home/comfortable. I love ordering the saganaki because of its presentation. Its pretty much a rectangular piece of white cheese(not sure what kind) on a heated clay dish so that when it is served, it is sizzling. Squeeze the lemon given to you and you get more sizzling goodness. Take pieces of the gooey cheese and eat with the bread! Tl;dr nice, comfortable environment with homey(easily can be made at home) food; good for casual dates and hangouts

Been a while since I was here but I used to go here a lot. Great place for pasta. They will give you more than you can handle, pretty much a guarantee.

Unfortunately we left the restaurant after waiting 10 minutes. We did not get greeted, even when we gave the waitress eye contact. The restaurant had at least 3 open tabled, so I finally asked if we could sit at a table. The waitress replied«No, you’re going to have to wait until we serve you». So we just left. There was also two girls in front of us waiting and other groups of people behind us.

Great place to take kids because the portions are huge and the big bowls are fun! Spaghetti with meatballs, Caesar salad, and cheesy garlic bread were all super yummy!

This must be one of Londons best kept secrets! The décor is like no other restaurant and has its own charm. While waiting for the food you won’t get bored as there is so much to look at. They don’t skimp on the amount of food they give you, most people leave with a doggy bag. They give you so much food in fact that they ask you not to share a plate, which is totally understandable. They give you a lot for your money. I always love going there. The place has so much charm, and has great food, if you’ve never been, you truly are missing out on great food and a great experience. I’d say the only drawback is the parking because it’s downtown. But they cant do much about that other then changing their location which would be a bad idea. Location is perfect for them.

Just order the spaghetti and meatballs. Seriously. You’ll love it. Ceasar salad is fantastic. Bread basket is fun and fresh. Reasonable price. Huge portions.

I spoke to some local friends about this place and I was universally warned that this place is nothing special and that the quality of food is simply bad. I read the reviews; I saw the pictures; I heard some bad stories, and I still went. And let me tell you, what you’ve heard/read is probably true. However, I wouldn’t skip this place and I’d probably return. What’s awesome about this place? Portions are horrifying Wine and beer is cheap(a glass of wine is like a water bottle portion) Décor is awesome Personality everywhere Good meatballs Not pricey at all Seafood fettucini blush sauce was tasty Service was great What’s not so awesome? Portions are horrifying Wine is questionable Décor items are covered in films of dust(gross, because the items are really close to the tables) Bathrooms — that was an experience on its own; talk about a dungeon. The shrimps in my seafood pasta were like little plastic nuggets The meat ravioli tasted like the canned stuff(my gf really liked it though) So, I mean, it’s a quantity over quality sorta place. That’s not a bad thing — this place knows what it is and it does it pretty well. There’s gonna be a day when I just don’t wanna cook and just wanna fill up on a bucket of carbs — and when that day comes, I’ll be back, Spageddy Eddy’s.

Cool environment, blah food. I had fettuccini Alfredo and it tasted like a jar of Alfredo sauce over noodles with microwaved chicken. The atmosphere in the bar is pretty neat and very different. Price wise, I think it was reasonable, but the food was just not good enough.

Having lived in London for years and always hearing about Spageddy Eddy’s I was excited to have finally visited this establishment. Service was prompt and the food was great. I will be going again.

There’s something just so charming about Spageddy Eddy’s that it makes it difficult to write an unfavourable review. The atmosphere is fantastic, but the food, as other people have said, is just not that great. My best friend and I both came in for lunch about an hour after they opened. Kudos to the waitress who was super patient as my best friend changed her mind about 4 times and made alterations to her meal. I simply ordered the lasagna which says on the menu that it’s made fresh every day. Just so you know, it’s more like the lasagna is made fresh from frozen every day. The sauce was piping hot, sure, but when I took a cautionary cut into the middle, it was cold. When I brought it to the attention of the waitress, she whisked it away quickly saying she’d heat it right up, no mention of any other service to make up for the cold pasta. :P

My best friend and I were in London for the weekend and have heard good things about this place. Since we both love pasta and it wasn’t far from our hotel, we decided to check it out. Pros: –Oh Lordy, the décor in here made my inner child’s imagination go wild! –large iced tea is quite large(like 1L mason jar kinda large) –bread baskets from the sky! –our server was really friendly –the atmosphere in here! Cons –tight walkway inside the restaurant –as a pasta enthusiast, this place had the basic staples, but it really wasn’t anything special. –the sausage was really disappointing. I know this is the stupidest thing to write about in a review, but it looked like a boiled hot dog, sliced, put in the pasta. Just, made me really sad. –menu’s a touch boring –ceasar salad has rubbery chicken. Ew. –food isn’t much good at all. WHYYOUSHOULDGOHERE: just even to look at everything and have a liter worth of iced tea, makes this place worth it. Cheap meal, too. OH! And they have a giant stuffed Zeddy in the basement(remember Zeddy?! From zellers before those evil target folks took over?!) WHYYOUSHOULDN’T GOHERE: food is okaaayyyy, but really nothing special. Menus boring. Quality of the ingredients suck. I wouldn’t go back if i was ever in London.

Once I sat down in this restaurant, I was expecting a tourist trap. The décor was akin to a pirate ship complete with bread baskets on pulleys. Needless to say, my expectations for this place were not too high. My companion and I shared our Spaghetti and Fettucini orders and we were both blown away by both the portion size(I think vat is probably a good description) and the flavour of the sauces. The pasta was perfectly al dente too! Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t pasta you would find in Italy(which I have yet to find anything close to here in Canada). This is the americanized version of spaghetti. But it’s done very well!

Two words can sum up what you would get from Spageddy Eddy’s: Value and Ambiance. The portions are so huge that three meals could come out of one bowl of pasta. However, as a delicious pasta dish. they aren’t anything to write home about.(But i guess enough to write on Unilocal… lol) The tomato sauce is nothing too special. It tastes like something that comes out of a jar, but the alfredo/carbonara sauce is not too bad. I would recommend those dishes. The starter salads are(in keeping with the portion size theme) enough to feed two people. The ambiance is old school quirky… with a touch of antique store thrown in. There’s just a little bit too much dinginess to make me feel a little uncomfortable. It was cool to go there to see the place and see how much stuff one can stick on a wall, however I wouldn’t go there looking for anything beyond mediocre in terms of food.

About a third of the way through our gigantic bowls of pasta, we realized that no appetite(of ours) would have ever been big enough for this job. The bowls at Spageddy Eddy’s are bigger than your head! Don’t let that scare you away though, after having had the leftovers for lunch the next day now, I’ll attest to the fact that it’s just as good when reheated. Our litre of red wine arrived almost immediately in its original bottled glory once the three of us were sat in a cozy little nook. Despite knowing how impossible it was going to be to finish our mains(from having seen our neighbouring table’s mammoth dishes), we still couldn’t resist sharing an order of the delightfully stringy cheesy garlic bread. No regrets there! My «maza maza spageddy», a spaghetti dish topped with a rose sauce made of half alfredo and half chunky veggies in tomato-base is perfect for those of us who have equal love for the creamy and the tangy. My dinner dates’ carbonaras(one with fettucini and the other substituted with spageddy by special request) were both decadently rich and beautifully accented with chunks of bacon and mushrooms. To be completely truthful, the pasta was a little beyond al dente and I could definitely make the same food(or better) at home, but Spageddy Eddy’s is about the fun and boy, do they deliver! Each menu is laminated in a different record cover, the bar is covered in license plates and strings of lights, you’re greeted by a giant Zeddy, the bread baskets dangle from the ceiling — There are enough tchotchkes in the little basement to keep your eyes darting for hours. The kind and attentive service from our British-accented server(the lone server for the entire restaurant for the night, it seemed) let us pretend for the evening that we were actually in the London across the pond. Regardless of where we actually were though, the kitschy décor was well worth the trip down the alley way to experience.

Nestled in an alley in the middle of downtown London is spageddy eddy’s. I first found out about this place in first year university. Little has changed about this place. Still on the walls are their knick-knacky old trinkets and randomness, including their bread basket from the sky. The portion sizes here are BIG. The lasagna is ¼ of a lasagna pan(I actually think the first time I was here it was 1⁄3 of one). The spageddy is the size of your head. All in all I don’t think the quality of the food is amazing or out of this world, but I would come just for the experience and the quantity you get. One of london’s top 10 for sure!
