Absolutely delicious. Pretty functional comfy décor. Nice drinks. Good service and pacing. Great use of local fare. Nice family run business. Can’t see how it’s less that 5 stars for anyone. Been 3x can’t wait to go back!

Myself and a couple girls from work came here on a Friday right when they opened at 5pm. We did not have reservations. We all found the restaurant to be well decorated, cozy and had a classy rustic feel. We were told that our order would not be able to be made until the chef got there at around 515 – 530 or so. Strange the chef was not in house upon opening a restaurant. Anyway we were not in a rush so two of us ordered a tasting of 3 wines. We ordered herb biscuits cooked in duck fat for an appy. Two of us ordered the same meal of flank steak, beef short ribs and seasonal vegetables the other had pork loin and seasonal vegetables. The chef has arrived in the kitchen we know this because the wall between our table and the kitchen was very thin, we could hear a lot of stuff going on in there. There was a vibrating through the wall that was a little distracting as well. We probably wouldn’t have noticed if the restaurant was full but there was only one table other than ours and ambient music playing. I found the flavour of the biscuits to be good but the texture to be very crumbly, had to be eaten with a fork. The flank steak and beef short ribs were very good, I wished there was more of the short ribs it was only a small piece. The pork loin had great flavour but a lot of un-rendered fat that had to be cut off. We left feeling satisfied but probably could have eaten more. I thought the prices were a little high but not unreasonable. The service was great she explained the menu when needed and was friendly and prompt. It’s a great idea having all the food locally sourced. They change their menu daily so falling in love with a dish and being able to get it again on another visit might be out of the question.

I ordered the duck confit and it was very tender and flavourful. Our server was great! The inside of the restaurant is adorable and I like how they have the tables screened for privacy while still maintaining an open feel. The outside being in an industrial complex surprised me, but don’t let that put you off going out here to try it.

We had a lovely dinner last night. The waitress was very friendly and had an excellent knowledge of the menu. We will definitely be back and look forward to trying the chef’s tasting menu.

We weren’t sure what to expect — a local farm-focused higher-end establishment in a light industrial park? I think we were on the mark with some of our expectations. They did surprisingly well with the décor. Rustic modern partitions suspended by chains from the ceiling break up the area into comfortable spaces. Drapes and a fireplace warm things up even more. You hardly even notice the T-bar ceiling and strip fluorescent lights(turned off). The cuisine is really only mediocre, especially given the high price. Our group of 8 sampled quite a range of the menu items. Unfortunately there was only one dish that truly rocked my world. That was a nice appetizer of herbed chevre on spinach with some picked carrots and beets. Quite nice. We also started off with a charcuterie plate. It was interesting but not something I’d want to put together as an assortment. Liver pâté, rabbit rillette(confit in duck fat), smoked salami, a strong nutty crumbly bleu cheese, and a couple other items. Most of them quite bold anf/or fatty. And they only served it with 7 croustinis? Very strange. For my main I had a ling cod, with a fried risotto cake and braised vegetables. It really did not have enough flavour throughout. There was a drizzle of tangy sauce, and a few capers, but really the salt and acid from those two prieces were not enough to make the dish multidimensional. The risotto cake was fried really hard, so that it was on the verge of being burnt, and was too chewy. To make the meal flavourful I had to add a fair amount of salt, which I rarely do. The chef definitely has a passion for what he does. The effort and creativity are there. But I think he needs to brush up a bit on seasoning. The region is blessed with some great herbs and seasonings that would add some WOW to the meals. I feel the chef relies a little too much on fat and oil. Reading other views, we were expecting very pretentious and stuffy service. But this was really not the case. Our server was very friendly, and took time to help us out with the menu, suggest things, and just casually chat with us about the restaurant’s philosophy. The one thing I should say though is that she said«Chef says» this or «Chef prefers to» that a couple too many times. All in all, a pleasant evening, but not a high dining experience. Too expensive as it stands. A little adjustment to the food would truly elevate Seasonal 56 to where they feel they are.

This is a very nice restaurant with a menu of locally grown food. I have been at this restaurant a few times and it had always been very good.

Would not recommend — dined here tonight for a night out. The evening started with a quick question about the tasting menu… Big mistake! The owner came over and began to tell me her life story about why they do not accommodate restrictions. A simple«no» would have sufficed. I had ordered the flight of wines to find out they didn’t have one available… Big disappointment, We moved to the apps, the bread was good but oddly paired and not worth an additional 3 dollars. The salad was poorly executed, the flavours were not balanced at all. Now on to the mains, we ordered the duck and beef tenderloin. I had ordered my tenderloin medium and was suprised to have it arriving to my table over cooked. It was inconsistent throughout with parts well done and the center medium well. The vegetables on the plate were over seasoned and inedible. Overall the experience was subpar and something I would never expect with a «decent» dining establishment. Please do not take the ingredients that a lot of the local farmers grow and raise to have it wasted. I purchase the same products from various suppliers of theirs and I know it’s not the products… I’m not a chef and my food at home is better. I am not saying«do not visit» but to each is own… And it’s not for this foodie!

When we first pulled up the address I was a bit skeptical… industrial area and fine dining? Hmm… But was pleasantly surprised. Great staff, excellent service. We had a «problem table» that would not stay stable and the staff did everything to try and fix it lol we never found a solution and it wasn’t a big deal anyways. Drinks were great, I highly recommend the blueberry tea martinis, made with a local’s fresh blue berries with vanilla vodka… SO good. I ordered the charcuterie board to start and it was delicious, LOVE the mustard fruit. Entrée was the Salmon and found it to be seasoned and cooked perfectly. The gnocchi were barely undercooked but still delicious. My husband got the pork tenderloin and it was also cooked perfectly and seasoned well. I found everyone very friendly and knowledgeable, the owner was serving and she mentioned the reason for the strange location of the restaurant was to keep overhead low as they only want to serve local in season food and are also closer to the farmers. Makes sense! would definitely go back. Interesting to read some of the negative reviews, we had a groupon and encountered no issues at all.

Horrible service! Sub-par food! Rude owner and clueless waitresses. We Ordered 3 «Nibbles» which took 30 minutes to get to the table. The waitress didn’t know what was included in the charcuterie board? When I asked her to tell me she pointed at the menu and rudely said«it says on the menu». Actually no it didn’t! It stated cheese and meat, what kind? She had no clue! It took her another 15 minutes to figure it out and get back to me! Ordered our mains and it was severely disappointing! Huge lumps of raw potato in my mashed potatoes, inedible greens that were way too overcooked and everything was lacking seasoning. My mother in laws pork belly was 90% fat and over cooked. My husbands rabbit was super overcooked and the lamb dish was the smallest piece of lamb and really not worth $ 17! Then we come to the bread. The waitress only brought us 4 pieces of bread even though there were 5 of us and when I asked for one more she said«sorry one of your guests is having a sandwich so he doesn’t need anymore bread«wtf? Who says that??? I have never experienced such rude incompetent service! It was my husbands b day and we came all the way from Vancouver to dine here. I asked them to put a candle on his b day cake, nope they forgot! They didn’t bring spoons or cutlery for coffee and dessert so again we sat around looking at each other and I had to ask again. We were hoping that the desserts would make up for everything but NO, not very good at all then the icing on the cake was when I gave them the expired groupon for lunch(promotional value never expires) and they wouldn’t accept it! So for a $ 200 lunch we got terrible service, sub par food and flat out insulted. Needless to say we will never waste our money, time or gas going out to this embarrassing place!

Being a local, I was extremely excited to find out about this place. I went here about 8:15pm with my sister-in-law and it looked like they were unloading catering supplies, we asked if they were open and both looked at each other and said they didn’t know but they would check. They came back out and said yes, we are open, come in! We were delighted! We came in and the hostess asked us for how many and we said two and she looked at the restaurant(which had one other party) and said she would have to check with the kitchen. She came back some time later and said the kitchen closes at 8:30. My sister-in-law and I looked at each other confused, looked at our watches and it was 8:35! They had wasted 20 minutes checking and re-checking! Extremely unprofessional. My husband ran a restaurant for 5+years and rule #1 is you do not turn away paying customers(especially if you are new trying to establish yourself). I made certain to tell all my neighbors and family of our experience and needless to say this place has lost a lot of business.

Service, food, wine all incredible… Donna was our server, she was a delight… We ordered the duck, paired perfectly with an organic okanagan wine. Marsha and Shannon made us feel like we were guests at their table… Reason number 56 I refuse to eat at chain restaurants when I have a chance to dine.
