I am a long time Walmart customer. Unfortunately, this particular Warlmart does not make the cut. The bathrooms are a horror show, the layout dirty and cramped, and the staff unfriendly. The Walmart sign donning the store is chipping from the cheapness that is Fairway Walmart. Even McDonald’s cut and split about a year and a half ago.

Not a fan of this store at all. I was looking at scrapbook stickers and trying to count to see how much I was spending. Within 3 minutes 2 people can up to me and asked me if I was finding everything okay… I’m not stupid. I used to work retail and know that the only way someone comes up to you in a department store is because they think you’re stealing. They need to redo the whole store and get some less nosy people working there. It’s very annoying.

I know it’s cool to bash Walmart, but I am a fan of this chain of discount department store. There was a time where I would not shop at this chain. However, in these uncertain economic times, I think Walmart is a good place to shop. The selection isn’t always perfect(for example, I can’t always buy the specific peanut butter my wife likes), but the prices are fantastic(in fact they guarantee the lowest price and have a price match policy). The in-store McDonald’s restaurant gives a nice place to stop and have a break. This smaller store isn’t a Supercentre, but is connected directly to the rest of Fairview Park Mall, and that’s great for one-stop shopping. The quality of the items are not always the best, but when a pair of jeans are priced at only $ 10, I can’t really complain, especially when you take into account their fairly liberal return and exchange policies. If you are looking to stretch your budget, and you are willing to make some compromises to get more savings, Walmart may just be the place you’re looking for.
