Best Caribbean resultant outside of Jamaica. Staff are great, food is amazing and made on site! Prices are unbeatable. One of my favourite places in KW to eat at. In the many times I’ve eaten here I have never been disappointed! This little hole in the wall is a genuine gem.

Better than many Caribbean restaurants I’ve been to in Toronto. Delicious and flavorful goat curry — I will be back to try more. And it comes with a side salad and plantain.

Food is always fantastic. Staff is friendly. The biggest problem with this place is they use a delivery service that often backs out of delivering. so it’s not their fault but it really sucks. If they got their own delivery of probably never cook dinner again lol

My new favorite restaurant(with delivery) in KW. The chicken curry is fantastic, as is the chick pea roti. Both are wonderfully flavored and easily compete with the likes of the Real Jerk in Toronto, so much so that I’m not sure which I prefer more. And both come with a delicious side of plantain. A few notes to help others out: — The options for sides included with dinner are: macaroni salad, cole slaw(quite good) or soup. — Rice and peas really means rice and kidney beans. — Delivery is available but pricey. We paid $ 10. I think this option was made available through a 3rd party service. — They only take cash or debit.

I love this place. Although it’s not a place to sit and dine, more like a cafeteria. The important thing is that the Caribbean food is great. Roti is my favourite. We ordered doubles last time we were in and my only complaint was the microwaved them and over did it.

Was coming up to Kitchener from Toronto and was craving Jerk Chicken, decided to go Unilocal for some recommendation as I’m not too familiar with this area, I saw several good reviews on Unilocal and one bad review on a random but recent blogsite. Comin from Toronto and up from the west end I am somewhat familiar of what Caribbean food should taste like, especially since my guardian is also from the island so she taught me a few things. So here’s the run down of what I ordered. Jerk Chicken Lunch Special with Rice n Peas, Plantain n a Soup for 11.95(a bit expensive IMO for what you get) –chicken soup with dumpling was good and heartwarming –jerk chicken was EXTREMELYDRY(I had to order an additional drink for it to go down) and it was extremely bland, in which their own hot sauce is what sorta gave it flavor –I usually like to have my meal served with oxtail gravy but the lady drowned it into my rice n peas(which was decent) which I wouldn’t mind except… it tasted like nothing at all… –the plantain that came with it was quite tasty and probably the best part of the entire meal –Again…can’t stressed this enough the chicken was like sawdust pasted with water and Tabasco sauce –The young lady over the counter was quite impatient and rude with us probably because we aren’t of the western look. I noticed this because she was rude to us but all smiles to the other folks that walked in. The older lady though was a bit more nicer and welcoming though –Value wise this feels like a complete rip-off $ 10 usually gets me 2 thighs, n 2 breast where as this got me only a VERYDRY thigh and breast which usually downtown Toronto serves as a lunch special for $ 5 including rice n coleslaw(tasting miles much better) –beef patty was decent though ***I understand this is my first review but I just wanted to warn ppl NOT to have the chicken like I did and be completely ripped off. Especially for those who are new to the area and might possibly have the same craving as me. Maybe jerk chicken isn’t their thing… it’s like one of those situations where the food taste so bad you need to go to another joint to remedy the crap you just are… so Ritz by Eatons or Willy’s Jerk you’ll probably see me tomorrow, with my ½ jerk chicken on rice n peas, with the oxtail gravy, coleslaw and nutrament. ****will I ever return? Nah I’ll just bring tabasco to home depot and serve it on the leftover sawdust they have there, at least I won’t get attitude there

Really good chicken curry. They also sell delicious flakey Jamaican patties and a variety of ethnic drinks– I recommend the pink Ting, which tastes like Fresca but obviously better.

I’ve only tried a couple Caribbean places so I was anxious to try this one. The fact that its 30 seconds from my hotel was a real bonus. Cafeteria style service but the lady behind the counter was super friendly offering suggestions and offering to mix the mold and hot jerk sauce to give me medium. I had the small jerk chicken dinner with the soup. The server said try the soup its good and boy was it. A few tender peices of beef and just the right spice. The portion of rice with beans was very generous and the jerk chicken was perfect. Cooked just right and nice mix of spice with a bit of a hot burn at the end. I was definitely full but not overstuffed. They have a larg selection of drinks especially Caribbean ones and juices. I’d like to try the mango or other juice next time as its a good match with the spice. I went with a Ting grapefruit soda a favorite from my visit to Jamaica and it suited the meal well. Too bad I did not have room for a Jamaican patty or a desert both looked good.. All total $ 14 for a great meal and a drink is very good value. The atmosphere is clean but not really much. It would have been nice to have at least some Caribbean music in the background. I will go back again.

I’m a big fan of Jamaican food, so when I moved to Kitchener I saw this place and was dying to try it. I’ve had it a couple of times now, and it’s one of my favourite places to pick up a quick dinner on my way home. I got the«small» curried chicken dinner both times, which comes with a large portion of rice and peas with the curried chicken poured over the whole thing. With that you also get a fried plantain(YUM) and a side salad. It’s a lot of food, and that’s just the small. The flavour is good, but I like to put extra hot sauce on it to kick it up a bit more. I’m gonna have to try the other dishes soon! The service is quick and efficient and the place looks clean inside. If you’ve never had Jamaican food before and are curious about it, this is a good place to go.

Wanted to try a new place in KW and decided on this one. 5 of us total, and we each ordered a different main. I had the curried beef and tried the oxtail, jerk chicken, and curried chicken. All of these items are delicious, but I can’t say enough about the oxtail. Planning on going back and trying the goat, and hopefully even more dishes. Amazing food :)

My favorite place for jerk chicken and chicken curry, absolutely delicious! Small restaurant with an authentic atmosphere. Oh and they also use Crystal Clear Water, which is the best tasting water ever!
