I usually stay here when in Kamloops for overnight. The place was originally called the Dome I the late 60’s and was the place to be seen in Kamloops. Many changes over the years and now a ramada. The hotel provides good basic accommodation for a reasonable price compared to other pretentious hotels in the area. The restaurant, now called the ‘burning barrel’ has alwAys provided a good sound breakfast. Dinners have varied in quality but tonight my rib eye steak was just fine. Experienced staff appear to be a problem but at least they are pleasant and realize that there is a lot to learn. The rooms are adequate but I feel a deep cleaning is needed. All in al I recommend this hotel.

I returned after two years. A solid four stars given the price. It seems like the rooms have been renovated in the past two years. Staff are friendly, the rooms are quiet, and parking is easy.

Don’t let the outside fool you, it’s not as bad as it looks! First of all, they are pet friendly. Huge plus for us although they are still kind of unprepared compared to other hotels we’ve stayed in. They didn’t have a water or food bowl for the girls so we borrowed one from the lounge. Otherwise, the staff was very patient and loved the dogs. They were very forgiving when they barked and ran around like mad too. The room we stayed in was very mediocre but they seem to be redecorating in places. My man has stayed in other rooms(non-pet friendly rooms, I assume) and said they’re much nicer. I loved the cute fountain in the courtyard and the accents throughout the hotel. They are giving this hotel a nice modern twist but they seriously need to paint the outside. The baby blue has got to go! We would absolutely stay here again. The breakfast is included and is pretty yummy. The restaurant and pub upstairs have great food.

Wow… I wish we had found this hotel during our first visit to Kamloops! There are several cheaper hotel options to choose from but the hotel we chose on our way through didn’t close to the Ramada. For the price this hotel is as good as it gets! I particularly enjoyed the nice rooms, the fitness center and the awesome hot tub!

Booked a room only because it had good reviews on Unilocal! So far so good. Pleasant clerk at front desk, fast check-in and the room is nice. When I called to book the clerk was considerate and accommodating as well. Great rate and location.

We were on our way through Kamloops to Vancouver, and arrived at 3 am. We needed to leave the next morning by 8, so all we wanted was a bed to crash on. Our first stop was at Best Western, where we were«generously» offered the room for $ 109(a $ 15 savings — wow, thanks!). I pleaded that we would only need the room for 5 hours, but that’s the«best he could do.» I wasn’t about to pay $ 20/hour for a room I was only going to sleep in, so we left. After a few«open» hotels turned out not to be, we came upon the Ramada. The guy immediately empathized with our situation and gave us a huge discount. We happily stayed there, where the room was clean, quiet, and we got a beautiful view of the sunrise in the morning. This guy recognized that some business is better than no business, and next time we’re in Kamloops we will be going back to the Ramada.
