Unreal pad tai. Bro. You can get it for takeout mad swiftly. The chicas working in the establishment are 8⁄10 in the looks too.

SAIGON. Seriously, you can’t be a McMaster student and NOT know about eating phở at Saigon. Located in its own«building» in Main Street Wesdale, Saigon. They have a wide selection of phở in soup bases with different sizes for you to choose from. The phở is delicious, they also have Hoisin sauce and siracha on the side for you to eat your meal with. I enjoy getting the phở with beef ball, tripe and beef slices. However, I would like it a bit more if the soup bases heat lasted longer. That’s usually how I determine how good the phở is, the freshness of the noodles and how long the soup base stays hot. Heard their pad thai and side dishes here are great as well! Something quite unique, I assume it adheres to the Western culture, but they give out fortune cookies at the desk where you pay. Haha, I find it interesting how they say Fortune Cookies are a Chinese thing when reality, none of the Chinese places give out Fortune Cookies anymore.

I find this place quite clean compared to other phở restaurants in Hamilton, so I’m a fan. I noticed that when you come on the weekends or off-hours, the portions decrease significantly and the ingredients aren’t as fresh.

came here for a quick bite, i order two appetizers, a fish ball soup($ 3) and minced pork spring roll(~$ 3.50). Honestly the dishes did not come out as expected: The soup was just 3 tiny commercial fish balls you can find at the grocery store, cut in half and put in some clear soup… quite disappointed, I know it was for $ 3, but this is just miserable. The minced pork spring rolls tasted great! the only thing was, the pork wasn’t minced… at all. It was a sausage cut in half and when i bit into it, the meat was all one piece. When I asked the waitress if this is the minced pork version, she showed me the menu and said yes. I noticed at the bottom of their order sheet it says that they are not responsible for miswritten orders, but i wrote the correct number, they just didn’t deliver what is written on their menu. Look at the attached picture, is that meat in any way minced?

Ordered chicken mushroom noodle takeout soup the chicken was extremely dry very little. noodles were all stuck together almost as if they have been sitting in the container for hours. The little bit of green onion was dried out . Mushrooms were big sliced sloppy and not fresh. Was not busy did not have to wait long. The broth did not taste good at all. Would not return;(

As I work in the area I always found this an easy place to grab a bite where the menu isn’t all sandwich based. The food is great for what you’re paying. Nice hot Phở. Pad Thai has a unique taste and texture. Portion sizes are great. The staff is friendly, but not very accommodating. Several times I had issues and I was basically met with«oh well, deal with it». I’ve also noticed some hygiene issues which are a little off-putting. If you order several items they tend to be served to you in whatever order they are ready, regardless if they are an appetizer or main. I ordered some dumplings which arrived 10 minutes after my rice dish, 25 minutes after my initial order, and more than half of them were not filled with shrimp as ordered, but pork. When I informed the server she said«That happens sometimes, the pork is good. You eat it.» I said it’s not what I ordered and I would just like the bill. She took it away and said she’d make me another order. I said I didn’t have time because I had to return to work, and they took so long the first time so I didn’t want to chance it. I again requested the bill. I was ignored and told that the new order would be out soon. I said no, I didn’t want it, just the bill. I watched her go to the window of the kitchen and put in the order again. I put some cash on the table and walked out. I didn’t go back for a while but when I returned I noticed that they had updated their menu. When I received the bill it was higher than expected. I compared it to the prices listed and noticed I was charged more for an item. I brought this to the server’s attention and she told me that they printed the menu price incorrectly and I have to pay the higher price. I told her I didn’t think that was right and she just shrugged. I asked to see the manager who, after me pressing the issue, reluctantly agreed to charge me the listed price. I went back one more time and the menu still hadn’t been corrected. If you can put up with inconsistent and unaccommodating service, and just don’t care of you’re ignored, this place has pretty good grub.

I came here to meet my friends, who had just finished their dinner. Since it’s almost closing and the neighboring restaurants seems closing as well. We end up dining here. We tried the Phở, pad Thai and 2 kinds of rolls. It was just ok. Not a fan tho. Well there was one young person running the restaurant alone. She was friendly and really nice. That’s why I’m bumping this to 3 stars. The price is pretty reasonable.

Honestly, thought the place was cute enough and the staff were nice enough, until I realized the food I ordered was never going to come. I waited an hour for a bowl of phở that I’m pretty sure they forgot about, and on top of that they tried to charge me for it. Seriously disappointed with the food too. When food did come out for my friends(which by the way each dish came out one by one), we discovered that the ratio of cabbage to a chicken dish overwhelming. Overall disappointing experience and food for a place that is «authentic».

My favorite restaurant to grab a chicken pad thai. I believe they make the perfect pad Thai with the flavors and spices. I have ordered this dish here over 10 times and have been happy everytime. I have also tried other things on the menu like phở, spring roles and BBQ pork fried rice, and have been satisfied every time. My friends and I love coming here for an afternoon lunch as it is close to McMaster. The lack of the 5th star is because I wouldn’t exactly call the location clean. I have gotten a glass of water here that had pieces of dirt in it a couple times so I always double check that when I dine in. Typically I tend to get take out so that doesn’t apply always. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant to a friend as I enjoy their food!

Near mcmaster univ. Good place for a quick lunch or dinner. Phở with beef, triple and ball is always my best choice here. The steak here is also a good choice. Value for money

Very friendly service, although the phở was slightly subpar. Close to McMaster, good for students. Overall good experience!

Saigon is a good restaurant if you are looking for a quick eat. The prices are affordable(between $ 7-$ 10), and you get A LOT for what you order. The menu consists of a wide variety of different Vietnamese dishes, so you will definitely have a lot of selection to choose from. It’s one of my favourite restaurants to go to when I’m in Westdale and I’m looking for something that’s cheap but not fast-food.
