Lemon Grass Restaurant

Had the pad thai, a bowl of Phở steak brisket and the House rice. I enjoyed the house rice the most… I think that should speak volumes. The Phở bowl comes in only one size and the pad thai didn’t even have peanuts. This place is very clean and has plenty of seating however I have seen the place full on many occasions.

The food here is really great, super tasty and large portions. I always leave satisfied!

The Green curry was good, not excellent but still good taste and big portion.
Cashew Chicken was really tasty and came to the table with great presentation, a little stand with a tea light to keep it warm!

Although we don’t live in Hamilton, we’ve driven by this place several times while visiting friends, and we finally had the opportunity to stop in for dinner. It was just okay. For my meal, I ordered the crispy chicken and it was not at all what I was expecting. The batter was similar to what you’d find in a fish and chip shop, and it made the chicken quite dry. Also, the ‘vegetable’ part of my dish was mostly just large chunks of onion. It was waaaay too much onion, and I say that as someone who usually LOVES onion. The ‘homemade’ sauce was also kind of gross — it was sort of beige and was partly gloppy, partly congealed. The taste was nice, but the consistency was unappetizing.
When we left I looked at the dishes on some of the other tables and they looked delicious, so maybe we just picked the wrong thing? Based on what I saw on the other tables I’d be willing to go back and try something different, but I was mostly unimpressed with the dishes we ordered.

Fast and delicious food w/​lots of gluten free options. I stopped in for lunch and found lemongrass to be a nice surprise. I had the curry crispy duck w/​coconut milk. It was amazing! The duck was cooked perfectly and the curry had a nice balance of sweet and heat. Next time I’m in town I’ll definitely be back!

Food was good but service was real bad, no one ever came to the table after dropping off the food not even to give me a glass of water. They where to busy chatting with each other and only 3 tables seated while we where there. The people next to us also left no tip as we did not either. I will go back because service in the past has been good, just not tonight.
