I always leave La Station content with my meal, value for money spent and the general atmosphere. The service is good, the food is good, and you really do get what you pay for — there menu accommodates all tastes, though vegetarian options are a bit hard to find. Portion sizes are excellent. The atmosphere is vibrant, especially on the weekends, and the restaurant itself is lovely. The only reason they get a 4 star instead of a 5 would be the service. Because the restaurant is so large and busy, it sometimes takes a bit too long to get your order taken. The last time I was there, we were seated without having our drink order taken — by the time our server came around(a little over 5 minutes later), we had all decided what we wanted to order. Other than that, our waitress was great, and perfectly accommodating to the bilingual ordering preferences at the table.

I really enjoy la station and friends/family have joined me there for dinners every no and again. The food is good for what you get– although I find the options as far as vegetarians go, are limiting. Pizzas are great– so are the pastas… But a dish not necessarily reliant on bread? Perhaps? It might be a good option other than a Greek salad that is good– but only mediocre I find… Either there’s not enough cheese/vinaigrette and the olives are sparse. It’s good in general– their plates are yummy and service is good as well. Last time I went and was served very well by a waiter with glasses(sorry I don’t recall your name) — who was very helpful(and deserves a 5 for attentiveness) All in all– not too shabby, or pricey– good. APPLE pie though was really yummy though… Mmm pie.

I agree with other reviews that it is not as good since it burned and reopened. The atmosphere and food has become a little more generic. It remains a good spot to go for a family meal as there are lots of options ranging from pizzas, sandwiches, burgers, brochettes to steak and the portions are good. The restaurant is huge so rarely have we waited for a table. I was here for breakfast recently and there are good combinations available for all tastes. I was very satisfied with my choice of 2eggs, choice of meat with waffles covered in fruit and served with crème anglaise. Definitely a good place to bring the family.

Good pleasant evening. Staff was attentive and courteous. Food was alright, you get what you pay for. Started with the nachos, they were a little over cooked but the secret hidden layer of cheese made up for it. My main was the 10 Oz sirloin. Blah… Should’ve paid 4.99 for the peppercorn sauce to give it some flavor. The vegetables on the side reminded me of steamed frozen veggies.

I go there every time I stay at the Hilton by the casino and the food is amazing, the service is great but they are always so busy that it does take some time for the waiter to come around and to also get your food. If you don’t want to wait you absolutely have to make a reservation because on the weekend at dinner tome you can for sure have an hr wait. Best choice is the pizza Calabrese this is the best pizza I had EVER. Breakfast is good also, great portion and the price is pretty decent

This place has great food, great service, and the best desserts, just make sure you make a reservation if you want to go on the weekend. The lines are long.

The service is awesome. The food is really good. If you want to eat a good pizza on wood oven, it’s the place to go. The steak is delicious. Every time I’m going there, I’m always pleased. Will definitely go back again

Sad that it burned down a few years ago… I feel the fire took something away from it. Sometimes I feel the ambiance is cafeteria-like because of the high ceilings and low booths, but I still keep going back. Nevertheless, food is good and decently priced. Good breakfast choices also!

Smoked meat sandwich is OK, not excellent as some suggested.

Surprisingly the portions seem to be back to normal, except for the omelettes in the morning, definitly smaller than a few years ago. I now go there every now and then, nothing spectacular but nothing bad either.

La Station — hmmmmm… I have mixed emotions about this place. We saw fairly good reviews from another review site and decided to try it out. It’s in Quebec so we decided French food would be good. Someone said that the original place had burned down and they traded in their old look for a more«contemporary» style but my friend who was with me described this new style as… ahem…“The new Red Robin” — which isn’t saying much. It had kind of a food chain feel. We had a decent meal and the staff was very nice but they were drilling holes in the wall while we were having our lunch which was very disturbing and everything looked kind of plasticky(I know that’s not a word but it’s what I felt was appropriate in this situation) and cheap. Not a very interesting place. The poutine was good though — very greasy — but I guess that’s the point of the dish!

On Labour Day, everything in town was closed for the holiday — even many restaurants. But, we noticed our neighbour coming in with a take-away bag from somewhere. We asked him where he got the food and he told us he had simply crossed over into Quebec, where no one there recognizes the holiday. Everything was open. We balked at first because we thought Quebec was so far away(hey, we were only new in town) and our neighbour assured us that good food was only a few minutes away. Turns out you just cross the Ottawa River and there you are. Our neighbour recommended La Station — mostly for its deli sandwiches. Apparently it is one of the best places around for Montréal smoked meat sandwiches(kosher too!). But, when my wife and I arrived at La Station, we opted for pasta. I had a TERRIFIC spaghetti bolognaise and my wife had a pasta with cream sauce that had huge chunks of bacon. Both meals were delish, but supposedly you have to order the sandwiches when you eat at La Station. The atmosphere was very hip, the staff was very helpful and bilingual and the prices were moderate. The portions were huge and, like I said, they were very tasty. Please — do try La Station if you are in Ottawa. It may be in Hull, but it is literally only minutes away.
