Very disappointing experience during our recent visit to this establishment. Their Web Page displayed European bicycles available for sale, but upon our arrival, there was a single Belgium bike being cleared out. I approached the only person in the store, who remained within the maintenance area. He said the owner has been told about the out dated Web Page. The employee said he did not know what the plans were for the future for these bikes, as this was not communicated to him. He said it was the end of summer, and did not know if we could order a new bike, or where to get one. I was looking to spend $ 3k on two bikes, but I can only assume this company did not need any sales. The shop was in complete disarray and not inviting at all. Customer service did not exist.

You know when you were young, and you had no idea what to do to your bike to make it work, to make it better? And you brought it to a family member or family friend because you had unwavering and unshakable trust that they’d fix it, they’d make it better? It has been years since I’ve been on a bike, and I am terrible on a bike. I know nothing, except try to avoid poles when you are flying down a hill. Anyways, I walked into the Fort Langley Cyclery, exchanged a few words with the technician, John, and relived the childhood feeling that I was entrusting my bike to someone who legitimately and genuinely cared both for the bicycle, and me as the rider. He let me ask really ignorant bike questions(like what levers do what on downtube shifter) and explained them to be with patience and clarity. He got me a really good price on tires, and fixed my mangled job of installing fenders. If you are new to cycling, find it intimidating or overwhelming, come here. Make the trip out to Fort Langley. These guys know their stuff, take pride in what they do, and treat you like a family business is supposed to treat their customers, like family.

Will never return here. Completely ignored the first time we entered the shop. We left and decided to walk around Fort Langley. Upon my friend’s insistence we returned to give it another go just before 1pm and were told they were closing 4 hours early and couldn’t rent to us — but we could rent for the whole weekend if we wanted. What a joke. Terribly uninviting customer service. Would not recommend this place to anyone, I can only assume that they’re still in business because unfortunately they’re the only bike shop in that area. A good business is run on consistency, closing half way through the day is unacceptable. Thank you for ruining my Saturday afternoon adventure that I’d been looking forward to for a week. Word of mouth is a beautiful thing, though it won’t be for this ‘business’.

As most of you know, if you have read my reviews, that I have a couple of dogs. One of which is terrified of bikes and I have two :)! I really wanted to be able to take my dog Puck out on bike rides so I was on a mission to find a basket that I could hook up on my bike and in that search I stopped into the Fort Langley Cyclery. Wouldn’t you know they had EXACTLY what I was looking for. They carry some very unique items and bikes. If you are looking for the unique in accessories and some stylish and great bikes this is the place to go. What is the icing on the my bike cake was that when Puck was having nothing of the bike basket I was able to bring it back, even though I didn’t have the receipt. Since i didn’t have the receipt I wasn’t able to get the cash back but I was able to get store credit. So I exchanged the basket for a bike rack and another very cool grocery basket for the back. I am VERY happy. I will be back to get the helmet that I also want and only they have had. The owners have always been helpful, knowledgeable and great to deal with. They were able to recommend someone for me to go see about getting my cruiser painted in a colour I want. Really, what more can you ask for in a bike shop???
