I’ve been frequenting this Winners since I moved out here about eight years ago and, for what it’s worth, it can be hit and miss for long periods of time. Recently though, it has been more«hit» for sure with new clothing items. The clearance section doesn’t have many items so I’ve never found any real steals like I do at Marshalls. If you go often, you can pick up some good finds in the home and pet section — my dogs LOVE their Toronto Maple Leafs collar and leash sets! In my opinion, the real star of the show is the cosmetics’ section — lots of nice OPI nailpolish sets that I haven’t even seen at Marshalls. In addition, I don’t know if this is inexpensive or not but I’ve seen StriVectin anti-aging products for under $ 50. Also, being able to go for dinner at Spoon & Fork(a few steps away) after shopping is a huge, huge plus!

Compared to the downtown(Yonge/Carlton) WINNERS, this is night and day, bit of space, cleaner, etc. I know downtown is busier but this location works so much better. One of the better WINNERS in the toronto/gta area.

This Winners is on the smallish side and was quite messy. It was a warm evening when I visited and either the air conditioning wasn’t working or someone had goofed and turned the heat on instead. I didn’t find a thing(still looking for the perfect pair of sandals) but as is always the case with Winners, you never know what you will find… An awkward parking lot without a light makes turning onto the Queensway a chore. Shares the space with a sad on the way out looking mall.

Like any Winners out there if you look long enough you are bound to find a treasure. The problem with this Winners is the SIZE, its a very small store. Great buys $ 265 Ray Ban sunglasses — $ 50 $ 120 Bench Sweaters — $ 50 $ 80 Guess jeans —$ 25

It saddens me that I don’t have a better winners close by, this store is mostly a mess and I don’t enjoy my experience here. Plus I’d have to make the trip just to go here, the mall that’s close by is just sad and therefore I don’t visit. Their home section has the only good selection here.

For my American compatriots, this is the Canadian version of stores like T.J. Max, Ross, Marshall’s, etc. The same products, the same setup, the same company actually, only the prices are higher in Canada of course. However, it’s still getting the same thing in dept stores etc for much less. 4 stylish and high-quality drink glasses for $ 7 instead of $ 20 at the mall, yes please. An exercise ball with foot pump and yoga mat and other related stuff for $ 16 instead of $ 50 at Sears, thank you. The only problem with the store is not knowing what you’ll find and possibly not finding what you need. For example, I need a shower mat and they had some shower mats, but they didn’t have the kind I want… this week. The Winners on Bloor had the freestanding TP holder I need but I was on my bike then and this Winners didn’t have one at all. That’s how it goes. This type of store is always a gamble and occasionally you’ll be a winner.

My supposedly in & out shop stop for a winners gift card was stretched to a ten minute mini fiasco. Some words of advice to this Winners store: 1) Make sure your gift card display is stocked with Winners cards not only Home Sense. That’s great the Home Sense card is accepted at Winners too, but I stepped into a Winners store to get a Winners gift card not another store’s card. 2) Make sure there are Winners gift cards close by each of your registers not just the one by the end. Look at all the time you could save if each cashier had gift cards by their side. 3) It’s probably best for you to ring up your customers first before you ring up a staff member’s purchase. Now you caused a line up when it could have been avoided. 4) When there’s a line up building, at least one of the other cashiers cleaning behind the counter should open up their till too. Reading the above… it’s all pretty much common sense, huh?

To liberally paraphrase Rain Man, I buy my Joe Boxers at Winners. They’re half the price here as they are at regular department stores, and with so many different, cheeky designs, who cares if it’s last season’s styles? And unlike other clothes you might find here – pants, shirts – underwear sizing is really simple, so I can grab ‘em and run. That aside, Winners has all the department store stuff: clothes, shoes, a few electronics, even random exercise products like yoga mats. But size and style vary, so you may spend a while searching rather fruitlessly here; on the other hand, since they restock regularly, you could come back a week later and really clean up.
