Great place to play pool or ping pong. Suggestion: invest in jitz/foosball tables please!

Nice atmosphere but only one star because the food and tables are terrible. Ordered 2 items from the menu. One is obviously microwaved. The other was greasy and overcooked. The pockets on the table we played on(number 23 I think) kept falling out and we kept stepping on junk being stored underneath the table.

I finally decided to give crooked cue another chance. It failed to impress. We got seated and it took about half an hour for somebody to come to our table. When we finally ordered our food, they didn’t take the menus away for the entire meal. I ordered the Jd smokehouse burger. It was very mediocre. If I’m going to pay 18 dollars for a burger I expect it to be good. They ask you what side you want but don’t tell you each side is extra(I assume it would be but they should still tell you) It was just a frozen patty and a piece of lettuce. The cook was also carrying plates out because the 6 servers standing behind the bar weren’t doing anything. When we were all done, nobody came back so I had to go over to the bar to get my bill. The tables are so packed in they can hardly move between them. The new renovation is nice but it’s all hard surfaces so it’s so loud you can’t hear the person next to you. Overall, I would not return.

Apparently this place was more akin to a dive bar meets pool hall, but then this year invested some proper money into renovating the place and while I don’t have to experience to compare the results, I have to say they’ve done well with it. The place has a lovely glass ceiling, and an interior of mostly brick and beam with classy wood tables. We brought a group here and everyone was impressed by it. Food wise, nothing was mind blowing but nothing disappointed either. It was a pretty broad menu with reasonable prices and something for everyone whether meat lover or vegetarian. Beer menu on their website was better than in person, as their taps were more focused on European brands or brands like Mill Street and Granville Island Brewing which give the illusion of craft beer despite actually being owned by major labels, with the exception of Great Lakes Brewing — but that was a pumpkin spice beer. Some proper craft focus would have really impressed me but thats the beer snob in me talking and I don’t think anyone else complained or noticed this. Aside from the food and drinks, the main reason most probably come here is for the billiards and ping pong. $ 20 an hour for pool, $ 25 an hour for ping pong. The tables are all well maintained and top quality. While I don’t think the Royal York neighbourhood is an actual destination location, I will say that if you’re local, this place is a pretty good place. Be it for a group outing, a potential date spot, or a casual meal with drinks, I think this place offers a little bit of something for everyone.

Don’t you love when something that was always good just got better. I wasn’t partaking in the food this time but Friday night the kitchen was hopping and families were enjoying themselves the sunroof is a super addition. For an old smoking venue these guys turned it around and you have to climb to get in the joint. Although I think the descent is sometimes the more difficult venture. Cheers it’s a great bar too!

Very pleased with the renovations I moved into the area with my boyfriend who is an Etobicoke native, where as I am a Downtown/Liberty Village girl. He had been going to Crooked Cue since he was young to play pool with his Dad. When we first moved into the area it seemed like the only option if we wanted to stay close and play pool. It certainly seemed dated, but no complaints otherwise. We went last week to play pool and hadn’t even realized they finished their renos. We were really taken by the transformation. The retracting roof is awesome, the bar is beautiful and the drink specials are well thought out. I am so happy to have a place to bring family and friends when they visit me, as opposed to making excuses to meet them downtown. My only qualm is the price. Before, and now after renos it is still painful to look at your bill at the end of the night. There should be more nights, or even afternoons with specials either for pool and food, or food and beer. I don’t think I’ve ever managed to walk out paying less than 100 $. Also to no fault of theirs I’m sure. Real problem with fruit flies. My boyfriend went to the washroom and came back to 3 flies swimming in his beer. Not sure that’s something they can combat, but worth noting

3.5* The Crooked Cue is a beautiful bar! On the second floor on Bloor St W, this newly renovated spot has a retractable roof making it a hot spot for the summer. I went on a Sunday afternoon for lunch, and they had live music which was lovely and the roof open. It was a great atmosphere, and I don’t know how but the roof opening/closing is completely SILENT. I had the Souvlaki dinner, and sadly I was less than impressed. The souvlaki was terribly dry and no amount of tzatziki sauce could salvage them. The rice and Greek salad that came with it were fine, but I was disappointed. I can’t say the same for the others in my party though — the salad with shrimp and avocado looked incredible and they even remove the shrimp tails! The ribs appetizer was enough for a meal. The spinach salad with salmon was massive and I was jealous of everyone else’s meals… haha. Pool was $ 20/hr and ping pong was $ 25/hr…no idea why ping pong would be more but I wouldn’t play it anyway. To sum up: great atmosphere and ambiance… just don’t order the souvlaki :)

Been here a few times already, and I greatly enjoyed my experience playing pool. All the female servers are gorgeous and hospitable ;) This pool hall/bar has also just recently renovated with an open sun roof area which gives you a breath of fresh air and a glimpse of the outside world in case you forgot what it looked like after drinking booze and playing billiards for a while. I highly recommend this place if you are up for an evening of playing billiards and stuffing your fat face with nachos and pizza :)

A fun, unpretentious pub in the heart of Port Credit. The space is quite large, with a pretty sweet patio that extends almost out into the street(great for people watching). Being a child of the 90s, I especially enjoyed the big shiny tunes-esque music they were playing, chock full of Blink 182 and Oasis. The bartender was very attentive and it seemed to have a lot of regulars. A good spot to go play pool or have a few drinks, especially on a nice night when you can enjoy the patio.

Came here for a drink with my boyfriend, it was quite nice for a pool hall. The service was good and the food came out fast, our server was a bit awkward but what can ya do? It’s reasonably priced and close to the subway. It’s good for large parties and not over packed.

Pros: — Great draft beers(Mill St Organic, Tankhouse…) — Good atmosphere to relax Been here a hand full of times. Overall a positive experience every time. Great for large groups(20+ ppl.) with reservations. If you go without a reservation it will be hard to find a place to sit everyone(and the tables get booked pretty quickly). Locale: Tables are nicely spaced out, enough not to bump into people most of the time. There are TVs around so you can catch on the results of latest sports… Food and Drinks: They are good, but nothing in mind that would make me go there for food. Most people go there to play pool, have a few drinks and something to eat. Service: Pretty good overall, the servers do visit enough times to get your orders without being annoying. When to visit: When you want to play pool, or watch some sports.

Great atmosphere for pool and food is good while a few rounds of pool is a little bit pricey but there’s always a table so don’t be worried about booking ahead and the service is great

I don’t have a lot to say about this pool hall as I was here for a birthday party and was socializing most of the time and not playing pool. This venue lent itself perfectly for this type of occasion. The food was fantastic and the service was great. I did heard my husband make a comment that he’d played on better tables but all-in-all we had a great time here. The hall is close to the subway which made it easy to get to… probably easier than trying to find parking around there. I would definitely recommend this place for booking a party, you won’t be disappointed. Although I would highly discourage anyone from getting ‘obliterated’ and attempting to walk down the front stairs… I wonder if that guy ever made it. 3.5 stars

I’m a regular here. The food is awesome! I had an entrée salad that came in a tortilla bowl and it was just so delicious. Drinks are yummy and they actually have steins of beer lol. I’m never usually the one paying so I can’t offer a fair review of the cost(since I don’t really know) however everyone else seems to find that going for a few rounds of pool can get pretty expensive. It’s always a biweekly hangout spot for me these days!

The food is great, small burger, chicken wings, meat balls, green salads, cesar salads etc are all wonderful, my favorite are the salads here, the space is huge, they have a lot of regular pool tables and some snooker tables. The decoration is very nice too. They also have some very large TVs on the wall so you can watch games, some window seats with beautiful views and a cute bar. I have no complains.

This place is big and pool is about $ 15 an hour. Pricier than the usual price, I hear. What really makes me give it a 5 star though, is the food. Little did I think a «pool place» would get it right but their food is just amazing. I tried the Portobello Chicken dish and the Caesar Salad. Both amazing. I highly recommend the Portobello Chicken. Additional Note: the food is fairly priced.

Dropped by one night with Matthew S, and based on the name of the place, I thought the Crooked Cue was a gay bar. Turns out it is a pool hall! Huge space, clean bathrooms, equipment in good order, and probably about 20 different tables. They charge by the minute per table and pints are about 6 $. Not crazy. Played for about an hour and a half and the pool cost was ~30 $. So at about 30 cents a minute, you better enjoy it.

Solid destination for large groups or families. Lots of comfortable seating, televisions, tables and bars. Large menu, quick and polite service. I have been going there about once a month. Do not expect a watershed culinary epiphany. This is an excellent alternative to a small pub. Enjoy some cold beers and pub grub.
