I’ve purchased a computer here and it worked just swell for a long time.
I started having some trouble with it (defective hardware) a year later but couldn’t figure out the problem. I then learned that PCCanada has a great diagnostic service at a reasonable price. I was a bit of a computer novice back then so I brought the computer in. For $ 20 they determined that the video card had a broken connection. Since the card was still under warranty I was able to get the card replaced by ASUS.
More recently (4 – 5 years later) I had another problem with my newer computer which I bought at Tigerdirect. I’m more skilled in diagnosing computer hardware problems myself now, but this one stumped me. I took it into PCCanada again for the diagnosis and they found the problem. The computer worked, but sometimes the video card wouldn’t update the display. So the computer looked frozen but it wasn’t. I never would have known that.
Long story short, they found the problem again and it only cost me $ 30. Again I can send the video card in to have it replaced under warranty.
If you have a problem, and don’t have the time or expertise to address it, I recommend bringing it here. Their help is very modestly priced for what you get.
