Wasn’t thrilled with our sump pump installation — just didn’t feel like a lot of care/​thought was put into its location and the overall appearance inside. They did a fine job and it works fine. But the other issue was that they had the outtake pipe dropping the water just inches away from our exterior wall, and at first, it was constantly circulating the water back into the house. We had to come up with our own contraption to take the water away from the house, which has worked just fine.
When they later came back to service the pump, they cut apart our contraption outside, citing that as the reason that we needed service. But we’re fairly certain that is not the case, and so we reinstalled our system for taking the water away from the house. It appalled me a bit, that a company comes to install a sump pump to take water *away* from the house, but they weren’t really taking it anywhere per se. We were the ones who ultimately directed it away…
