Great selection and high quality. The price point is higher, but you have depth and breadth of product here that makes it well worth it.

I’m saying 4 stars for meat quality! Wdnt go anywhere else for my Sunday roast. I agree with the other reviews that it is too costly to grocery shop there whilst buying the roast! But for the odd specialty item it’s a nice shop! I doubt anyone could say anything bad about the meat! It’s great!

So overpriced it actually makes me a bit sick that the wealthy people in the area would rather pay 2−3x the price rather than travel a few extra minutes…

The name«Bruno’s» and its appearance made me think this place was a large Italian deli, the kind with a friendly counter people who greet regulars enthusiastically in Italian and that has good specials. Actually, it is just a sort of low key Whole Foods establishment. Fancy stuff, really high prices for ordinary stuff, and not much that you wouldn’t find somewhere else(not far away either) for a lot cheaper. Seemed to be full of Kingsway housewives who didn’t care how much things cost because they don’t need to care.

Expensive! For what you get at least. That’s why this place usually isn’t busy I assume even though it’s in one of Canada’s most upscale neighborhoods** It’s a full sized grocery store with all your basics and a good selection but why would I pay more for something when there is a Sobeys with better prices a 5 minute walk away? The only reason I go here is for their deli counter which has a nicer selection of cheeses and fresh meats. But I’m not much of a meat-eater so I don’t end up patronizing them that often. ** Just realized this is for the one on Dundas which I’ve never been to. I’m actually reviewing the one on Yonge street but can’t find it on this site.

Bruno’s is essentially a high-priced grocery store, which carries staples as well as a fair selection of fancy specialty food products(it’s where I first learned that Newman’s Own had expanded into organic, fair trade coffee, too). They also have a big deli and butcher counter, though they look like they could use a bit of a reno. Much of their business comes from pre-cooked and pre-prepared foodstuffs, at a considerable mark-up. Hey, I’d rather avoid making my own meals just like the next guy, but anyone who’d pay $ 12 for a container of bean salad is either irretrievably lazy, or doesn’t know the value of a dollar(or, to be more precise, of canned kidney beans). I hear that they’ll go the extra mile and cater too – they’ll even cook a turkey with all the fixin’s on Christmas day, though that really seems like decadence… and I don’t even want to know how much that would cost.
