Discovered a nice old school Italian place for lunch: Al Pizza Forno, located on 5555 Eglinton Ave. W, in Etobicoke(east of Dixie, West of Centennial Park Blvd.) besides Fiamma(same plaza where the Timmies is). Had a simple Spaghetti & meatballs. The pasta was done perfect(not mushy), the meatballs were moist and tender and the sauce was nice and tangy. I’ve been there a few more times and so far it’s been very consistent.

I work nearby and I come here often for lunch. Their food is really good and fresh. They have a few pasta items for sale each day, and a few types of meat(Example: meat balls, chicken, veal). You can then choose from a large selection of cooked vegetables to add to your dish. This part I love because all the vegetables are so tasty! The pricing is usually over $ 10 for lunch(Usually around $ 13 – 14 depending on what you order). They have a small number of tables to sit, and the place usually isn’t too busy. I like that the service is very fast, because everything is already pre-made and scooped onto your plate(cafeteria style). This is great when you are on a limited lunch break.

I wish I knew about this sooner! Homemade pasta and pizza, everything seems really fresh. We came here for a work thing. They aren’t usually open after 3, but for this private party, we had the whole place. It’s a really nice place for 20 person dinner that would like that kind of private space. We had a set menu that probably could have cost around $ 30 each, but I think cost less than that at cost. They were able to accommodate me and funny diet. The salad was a huge portion, and the pasta very yummy. The veal marsala was very good too. The servers were really friendly and very helpful. i can’t wait to come back for lunch one day.
