I’ve been here twice and had vastly different experiences. The first time was for an eye appointment. I was a new customer so I had to go through the usual processes. Dr. Khan was very chatty and personable, telling stories about his time in school at Berkley, although sometimes too verbose for my liking. But that’s a personal preference. I was in a bit of a rush and you could tell he was not. There were a couple of off-putting moments while I was there. Everything, besides the actual eye exam, felt very rushed and unorganized. Upon leaving the exam room I was promptly given a variety of glasses to try on despite not even asking to try anything. In fact, I noted that I would come back another time to try glasses on. That didn’t stop the persistent sales ladies. They’re just doing their job, but I still felt they were very pushy. Also, when I went to pay for my exam I was charged an additional $ 40 for a contact fitting. At this point I hadn’t tried any contacts on, and it wasn’t clearly explained to me what the fee was for. After questioning the receptionist and receiving lackluster(nearly condescending) replies I eventually concluded that the contact fitting fee was for ordering trial contacts, letting me sample them for days at a time, and ordering more if need, etc. until I found ones right for me. She also seemed to suggest that if I ordered a years supply of contacts then the $ 40 would be credited towards that. If that information would have been presented to me from that start, it would have made a lot more sense. My follow-up appointment, to actually try contact lenses on, went a lot better. All of the staff was very nice and made great conversation. Everything proceeded at a welcomed pace, and I found some contacts that were right for me. Dr. Khan also offered to order extra trial set of my current brand so I have more options for comparison. This time was there no pushy upselling –a much welcomed change.
