We had 4 dishes, rice, and Vietnamese coffees. The food was FANTASTIC! Great flavour, good size portions, and excellent service. This is a great treat and we will defiantly be back.

Pretty good. I had the phở, SHOCKING I know. It was tasty, the meat was superb, not fatty or rubbery or spongy. The broth was a little meh. It was watery and not as flavorful as I would expect. But it’s LOADED up with white and green onion and cilantro and I appreciate that very much. Good parking, quick service, easy find and really beautiful inside. No complaints from me!

Working and living close-by, I notice the place quite a few times but just tried yesterday. WOW! Should have tried way earlier! Great food, and the price is more than reasonable for what you get.

Have been going to this little gem regularly for lunch over the last three years. A simple place, with Great Vietnamese cuisine, great on a cold Edmonton winter day(the beef satay phở), the salad rolls a good choice as well, a great lunch place on West end.

Just had lunch here today. We had the spring rolls which were cooked perfectly. Flavourful without being too greasy, and piping hot. I had honey grilled shrimp vermicelli bowl. It came with six large shrimp. Very generous. The noodles were a little sticky but separated nicely when I added my fish sauce. The veggies were fresh and crisp and delicious. My friend had the fried rice and loves it.

It’s a clean, tastefully decorated establishment. The staff are friendly, but a bit pushy with the up selling. I had south Viet. Phở which was delicious. Good for one hungry person. Of course I never order just one item at a restaurant. So I got the Kim chi — because fermentation is good. It was very yum. Coming from Toronto, this is a decent place. Menu is a bit basic. But good enough.

It has been a while since I have had good Phở since moving here from Vancouver. I ordered the salad roll, it came out on a long plate, presentation was nice. Tasted good. Keep in mind I was hungover. Then the phở came out, the broth smelled so good. I instantly knew it was going to be great prior to tasting it. Clean restaurant, good service. I just found my new lunch place. Without having to fly back home to get phở

I’ve come to Rice Paper Fine Vietnamese probably a dozen or so times over the past 4 years. It’s definitely not my go to(Golden Bird in Chinatown, get in your car and go now!) but if I’m in the area for a work lunch, this is definitely my choice over your standard Subways or Taco Del Mars. I like getting the salad wraps(Lemongrass Beef Wraps are my go to) that you roll yourself here because the contraption they give you to dunk your rice paper in makes it easy breezy! In fact, I need to pick one of these dunking vessels up next time I’m at the asian market(I uploaded a picture in case you are curious). It can be quite packed in here at lunch time — so be prepared that you may need to wait 10 – 15 minutes for a table. Service has always been slow here and not as attentive as I would like. I can remember having to wait halfway through my meal several times to get a glass of water and refills on hot water for my tea tend to get forgotten. The Bun here never impresses me, so I usually opt for the wraps or a lemonrass stir fry dish rather than vermicelli. The prices are a $ 2-$ 3 higher here than the average Vietnamese stop but nothing astronomical. I also wish they would have more condiments on the table — hot sauces, hoisan, etc. Overall, it passes and I’m sure I’ll return but it’s not a place where I’d wake up and say, I want to go here today.

I was in Edmonton for business and looking for something different then just a steakhouse. Decided to head here and it was a pleasant surprise. The place was clean with nice décor, service and food was excellent and highly recommended.

I’ve been back and have to update as I’ve tried other dishes and am now satisfied with the dish with which their restaurant name should be judged on. Rice paper… which are the encasement of «salad rolls». You can choose from 4 – 5 different variations of meats for your unassembled rice paper wrap. Usually I’m not a big fan of this, but it’s a common vietnamese meal where a pile of vegetables, herbs, meat and rice noodles are splayed on a table for you to wrap inside of the rice paper which is dipped quickly in the water bath to soften and then consumed in a peanut or fish sauce dip. Really quite delicious and highly recommended if you have the time and don’t mind wrapping it yourself. I’m sure they’ll give you a quick lesson on doing it. Disappointed they don’t have the anchovy pineapple dip that is super delicious but it’s understandable why not as it’s probably an acquired taste. Other than that, service is still excellent, still stay away from the phở and other soups but if I’m craving a rice paper wrap or even their chicken/prawn salad I’ll head here. Also… quick note is that 1 wrap order plus a salad is a solid(relatively healthy) lunch for 3.

Comparable food to Doans restaurant. Prices are average for Vietnamese food in the city. I don’t know why people are complaining that the prices are expensive because again, they are comparable and the portions of the dishes are HUGE. I liked the décor of the place: cozy but modern. TIP: This placed gets super packed during weekday lunch hours. My favorite dish is the beef vermicelli bowl or beef satay phở.

Beef satay phở with peanuts is so good! Perfect amount of spicy! The green onion cakes and Vietnamese coffee are also quite delish!

Upscale phở. What? Hello oxymoron? Parking is available in the lot out front. The interior is, well, upscale. Not the dirty-looking beaten up insides you find inside big chains such as Phở Hoa. I was pleasantly surprised. There is an article from a newspaper hanging on the wall. Apparently others have noticed as well. Interestingly, the typical phở here is split into 3 types: Northern, Central(Hue), and Southern. I had the Northern phở. The food was served in an upscale-looking bowl. The sauces were filled in small dishes, instead of the large squeeze bottles like most other places. At $ 11, it was a bit pricey, but the presentation here is awesome. The noodles were nice and springy, and the meatballs were homemade. They are unusual for sure. Honestly I never thought I would ever find good Asian food in Edmonton, but my impressions have changed for the better now. Recommended.
