Okay, so it’s just Pita Pit. What’s the big deal? Well, I can’t eat bread, so pitas and subs have been completely out of the picture for me for years. That is until Pita Pit started offering a gluten-free pita! Yes, it’s true! I have tried it multiple times now, and it is super delicious. It’s pretty hard to tell it’s gluten-free. Apparently, they get these pitas from a bakery in Ontario. I only wish I could buy a stack of them for myself! The staff do seem to struggle with the gluten pita, however. They seem to have a hard time opening them properly, and they almost always tear while rolling the pita up. The paper compensates for this, as it holds the pita tightly together, and all you have to do is tear off the paper as you eat your pita. Some of the staff seem really paranoid about serving a gluten-free pita. They treat the pita like it may explode at any second! I am always warned that they cannot guarantee no cross-contamination will occur. They do not let the pita touch anything and use fresh gloves. These are good practices in my opinion. I am a huge fan of this Jasper Ave location. They just seem to be the most competent(ie. knows how to best deal with the gluten-free pita). Also, the ingredients just seem fresher. And they definitely stuff the pita with more veggies than any other location I have been to. This location is also nice and big, and you can sit at the front window and watch the happenings of Jasper Ave. The place is pretty clean too. Sometimes there are toppings on the floors, but that is just the nature of the pita! In conclusion, super tasty pitas with an excellent gluten-free option!

Opens and closes whenever the hell it feels like it. Was closed at 3pm on a Monday. No explanation on the door.

Normally I wouldn’t get overly excited about a Pita Pit, but this one is above Red Star, where I go often, and I just found out it’s open until 4am!!! I always get hungry late at night and always guiltily end up going to the late night places in Chinatown, but now I don’t have to. This is definitely a healthier option that I don’t feel guilty about the next day. Or immediately. Shared a six inch with a friend and it was about $ 6.50. The weird thing was that we ordered a chicken souvlaki and the person making it put the chicken on, and then asked me which veggies and sauce I wanted on it… Doesn’t that sort of negate the point of having specific types of wraps? I just thought that was sort of funny. Like, I specifically had to ask for tzatziki. Staff were pretty nice and didn’t look like they hated their lives, which is a bonus at a late night fast food joint.

GREAT customer service. All the guys working there seemed so happy and nice. One even broke into song singin Adele which gave me a little chuckle! It’s hard to find happy people in this busy city so I just wanted to write a review about them all! :) This is my new lunch spot for sure!
