What a great little spot! My expectations are never high for a mall food court, so let’s just be clear that this is not being held to the same standard as a privately owned Greek restaurant. I got lamb on a pita and it was tasty. It wasn’t too greasy, it was made fresh, it was quick service and it was cheap. And when you’re in a mall what more can you want? This isn’t a fine dining experience, but it’s tasty and cheap.

I’ve had the calamari at other Opas and usually enjoy it as a treat. This was not enjoyable. While they made it fresh, it was the most rubbery calamari I’ve ever had. The salad and sauce were of course tasty, but when you’re indulging on calamari, you want that to be the center of attention. Not Opa at its finest, since it was nowhere close to busy, I was the only person they were serving at the time, and there were three people working. I definitely prefer the one in Southgate Centre a lot more!

Fast Food Greek Food? I’m really loving Edmonton. After a long exhausting day at the mall we stopped by the food court, and after a few laps around I decided to try Opa! even though I was a little sceptical on how«fast food Greek» would taste. I’ve never heard of the place or anything about it, so I got the combo platter which included fresh greek salad, chicken, pita bread, rice and a potato all for 10 dollars. The salad took up half the plate, then spoonfuls of rice packed down on the other half, a huge delicious warm pita placed on top, and a small potato on the side. I couldn’t finish it all, and afterwards I felt fresh and not sluggish like the majority of it’s neighbouring fast food restaurants would make you feel. Fresh, Delicious, and satisfying, what more can you ask for? If you’re thinking about trying this place out, you wont regret it!

Alright, so I have been wanting to try this place for a while, because I was eating the same thing for a bit, And i was very surprised at this one, wonderful people and the food was excellent, This place needs more credit, this should not be called a fast food restaurant. One of the top healthy food places in west Edmonton mall, I recommend this to anybody who wants to go for a flavor rush. They have a wonderful selection of food so if you are not a fan of chicken try the gyros dinner. Have Nice Day.

Opa! What a great place to grab lunch or dinner if your stuck I’m the mall! They have very fresh and tasty food. You have you choice of meat(beef, chicken, lamb or vegetarian) and then your choice of salad(Greek or caesar). You can rather a combo place with meat, rice, potato, bread and salad or you can get a wrap. Personally I’m a huge fan of the chicken skewer plater. The portions are excellent. Unlike some other places you may go to that when you have completed your meal you’re still full, opa! has you begging for mercy. Always full and always satisfied! I love only having to spend $ 10 on it also! Perfect for a mall employee looking for a healthy meal!

I have to agree with the previous review. This Opa is one of the best in town. It’s really strange how a franchise can differ depending on what spot you go to. Personally I enjoy them all but this one is the best I think. The food tastes the best and seems like it’s prepared the best as well. I always get the #1 with chicken and they load everything on. The plate is usually overflowing with potatoes, chicken, pita, vegetables and rice. It’s almost too much food. I have trouble avoiding it whenever I go to West Ed.

The Opa! at WEM is worlds apart from the others; definitely the best Greek fast food spot in town. I get the #5 with the pita wrap and French Fries — yes, French fries. Not very Greek, I know. But seriously, these are no McCain potato sticks. They’re close to the best I’ve ever had. You can also get a mean fried calamari plate here. Who knew?! I don’t think the one on Whyte even serves appies like that. This franchise is run by Francis, a super sweet lady who takes pride in keeping a very clean restaurant. It has more the feel of an intimate little restaurant than a fast food chain. When I feel like Opa! I head to WEM. Their pita bread is so yummy and fresh and their tzatziki is to die for.

Yet again(I really feel like I’m repeating myself), ethinic cuisine has made it’s way into fast food, and this time it’s Greek. I was feeling adventurous, when I was in the smaller food court at West Edmonton Mall this past weekend, and I decided to try Opa! The people that worked here were super nice. They asked me and my friend if it was the first time we had eaten there. Since we hadn’t, she explained the menu to us, which was actually pretty helpful. I got the Souvlaki Pita with fava. This was topped with tzatziki, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. I could have added feta for 50 cents, but I passed. My pita came with a choice of either Greek or caesar salad; I chose the latter, but I kind of regret it. The Greek salad looked so delicious, but the caesar was very mediore. The pita was yummy. The bread was soft and the toppings were very fresh, but I wasn’t crazy about the fava. It was actually a falafel – it was very strong and not the best I’ve tried. I tried a bit of my friend’s food too. He had the Spanakopita, which is a pasty filled with spinach and feta. The taste was rather disappointing – I would not recommend ordering this. This platter also came with rice and potatoes, and these were very tasty. Opa! isn’t bad. I know what to avoid now and what is good, so I’ll probably get it again one day, when I am in the mood for something different.
