These pop up shops are a little hidden gem in Edmonton. It’s the perfect thing to do on a Saturday with a friend or alone if you need to destress and refocus your brain and get off the couch. There is always someone new and something new to look at. It’s really great to see small time crafters rent a table and bravely show off their work. Paintings, felting, soap, jewelry… and who knows what else?

What can I say, I do really love the On the Spot Pop Up Craft Sales! I’ve been to the last three that were held at Latitude 53 in Edmonton and have really enjoyed the treat bags that the first 50 attendees get when they walk in the door! I like supporting the local craft sale community and each time I’ve visited I’ve found at least one thing that I absolutely needed to have — each time from a different designer. Today I bought a dress for example, but in the past I’ve purchased scarves and pouches and have really enjoyed jewelry, cards, and edible treats here! The community is really friendly and there tends to be a good number of families who shop here in addition to individual adults. It’s great to see the babies and young children and their enthusiasm for art! I’m happy to talk with and interact with all the creators and hope to continue to do so in the future as well.

As a vendor at this event, I have to say it was professional run and great chance to get your products seen. The organizer and other vendors are fantastic and cheerful and willing to help. I would definitely suggest checking out these sales and supporting local artisans by shopping local. Also, I went to sell, but also bought — so many great pieces available!

I like that it’s small and intimate, although I’m sure it won’t stay that way. Also, I really enjoyed talking to the vendors about their art/craft/product/passion.
