Joined a group of friends who were already there and waiting. They had ordered drinks and food over 45 minutes ago. Some had their drinks and some did not. It wasn’t busy, pretty sure we were the second or third table there. I opted to order nothing and the others cancelled their orders. They paid their bills and we went to BP’s and had a gay old time.

What can you say about a restaurant that calls a local ice company when their ice machine goes on vacation? Job creation, manufacturing sector. Not only does moxies feed you but they support local. People are nice and helpful, holding doors open. Even gave me a pen. Woot, woot.

Two years ago I would have given Moxies a great review! However 2 of the last 3 trips to Bourbon Street Moxies have not been good. While the food was decent and the drinks were good. The bang for your buck isn’t all that good. And the service has been poor. This has just been in the lounge but all in all I have not been impressed

Moxie’s is one of my standbys. I even have a «ussual» the beef vindaloo. It is nice and spicy and a good mix of beef peppers onions and rice. My nephew had the beef dip. It was petty good. A bit short on flavour, but on a nice pretzel bun. Service was super speedy and very friendly.

Due to a lack of options, ended up here again. Sad to say I can’t give a better rating. Service wasn’t great. She was friendly but our drinks sat empty 99% of the time, even though she came over to do quality checks. We both ordered the veggie burger and there was only a dime size portion of cheese on the burger, it was also missing the chimcihurri sauce. My fiancé was chewing his food with a weird look on his face and pulled something out of his mouth: something plastic like and long, most likely a portion of the wrapper that the burger patty was wrapped in OR part of a plastic glove that the cook was wearing was in his food. Tried to flag her down or a manager but even that was impossible. Restaurant was less than half full around 7:30pm on a Sunday night. I don’t know why we even came back here! Due to us both working in the industry, I always feel obligated to tip, knowing that she will have to tip out the kitchen, hostess and bussers. However as someone who used to work at Moxies, I am really disappointed in the service. P/S Appetizer(med bread) and dessert(white cholocate brownie) were still delicious and remain my favorites.

Came in for lunch and we were seated right away. $ 5 Bellinis are addicting. Food service was kind of slow but I loved the Dry Ribs and Calamari appetizers! Servings are big so def share.

Bad service. Food took forever. After ordering the girl came back 20 minutes later and told me they ran out of what I had ordered. Changed it to a burger when it finally came it was burnt black and the tomato on it looked a week old. Bad bad bad all around. Never again

What a disaster of a restaurant. There is so much wrong and so, so little right. I ordered an Old Fashioned off their cocktail menu —(I had a really impressive Old Fashioned the day before at Earls that was soooo good, and so I was still totally feeling in an «Old Fashioned Mood»). Well, this was not an old fashioned, it is a cup of bourbon and some sugar on the rocks… Terrible! I then found a decent white wine. I then ordered the med bread trio and a «healthy» chili chicken(aka don’t deep fry the chicken breast). The med bread trio was ok; 3 un-inspiring dips with thin, dried out bread. I’ve had this menu item before at the North Common location and it was much better. Then there was the chili chicken, the what *to me, seemed like soy infused, artificially plumped up chicken breasts, yuck — then the dish(which usually comes with cucumber, had next to no cucumbers,(seriously, 3 thin, tiny slices) and the whole things was drowning in sauce. Wow. Horrible. Then to top off the evening, the floor by the washrooms was covered in grease, and I almost bit it. What was good you ask? My server. She was upbeat, on the ball and should really look into applying elsewhere. She could be working at a much better place!

I’ve been to Moxie’s on bourbon street in west Edmonton mall on numerous occasions. The service is always fast, and the servers are always friendly. In my most recent visit I had the 3 dip med bread and the parmesan chicken sandwich with red pepper sauce, crispy prosciutto, and arugula. The med bread is always delicious. It comes with a house made fresh salsa with cilantro which has just the right amount of heat. The garlic dip is a cream cheese base and is to die for. It also comes with a delicious basil mayo. The only less than satisfactory comment I have regarding the med bread is the change in portion size. During my last two visits I noticed the portion size of the actual bread was significantly smaller that it used to be. The Parmesan chicken sandwich is also delicious. The sandwich comes with salad, soup, or fries. If you’re ordering the fries or soup you’ll likely have to take half the sandwich home, which isn’t a problem because this sandwich is even better left over and reheated in the oven. I also often go for drinks as their G. T drink is phenomenal.(Moxie’s version of a gin and tonic) Gin muddled with lime leaves, topped with tonic and lime slush. It’s refreshing and ridiculously delicious! It’s also the drink on special of Friday’s. Equally good is Moxie’s frozen vodka soda, this drink is similar to the G. T only replace the tonic and gin with vodka and soda water. Both drinks are definitely worth making a special trip for. :)

Great service, delicious belinis. I had the Parmesan chicken sandwich, which was very good. The server was friendly and excellent at her job. We also tried the drink special– the white peach belini– and I haven’t found one so delicious since OPM was still in business. There was some issue with the debit machine when it came time to pay, but our server had it resolved quickly. My only criticism is the lighting– it was so dim that it was difficult to see my food or my company! Overall though, we had a good time and I would probably come back.

Went to the Bourbon Street location today with my family for lunch and had the worst service experience in my life, and that’s not an exaggeration. The server took a while to greet us, and once we ordered our drinks she took another good while to bring those, even though we could see that her section was not too busy. My husband and I have worked in the service industry for years, and are very understanding when the situation calls for it, as we have both been there, done that. I know when servers are swamped and when they are just plain, bad servers. Anyway, I decided to order brunch and asked her about the pancetta and what other meat I could add to the eggs Benedict, and she said the pancetta was the bread… WTF?! but okay… So I asked her to please make sure before I ordered. She comes back and, as it turns out, «pancetta is bacon» so I decide not to ask any more questions about the food because I wasn’t going to get any right answers anyway. After everyone ordered, the food took about 20 – 25 minutes to arrive. My husband ordered the fettuccine, my brother-in-law ordered a burger, his mom and my sis-in-law got breakfast too, and my nephew got popcorn chicken. Everyone’s food came out, but not mine. 10 minutes go by and we still don’t see our server – she doesn’t check how everyone else’s food came out, and no one comes by to give me any idea what is going on with my food. After another 5 minutes I finally get pissed off enough to get up and try to find a manager, and had a hostess tell me she would send someone over right away. A few minutes later a manager comes over with my food in hand, swearing up and down that the server rang it in and the kitchen sent one out, but who knows where that particular dish went cause it definitely didn’t come to me. By now my whole family has finished eating and I tell him that my brother-in-law’s mother’s food came out cold as well, but with no server in sight for a good while she couldn’t even ask for that to get warmed up so she just ate it. He then says, «oh, your potatoes were cold… Would you like some more?» Well no, cause she already ate her cold potatoes as she was hungry and didn’t want to wait around. So I ate my pretty horrible Eggs Benedict, still fuming. It didn’t help that the food wasn’t any better than the service, but at this point I couldn’t expect much anyway. The baguettes my eggs were on were rock hard that I had a hard time even cutting them into bite-sized pieces. Needless to say, I’d lost my appetite at this point and didn’t finish the food. My husband ate some of my food after I’d put it off to the side and wasn’t impressed at all either. No one at our table got refills on their drinks while this was all going on, and by now we are all pretty pissed off and can’t wait to leave. My brother-in-law came back from the bathroom saying it was a mess in there as well… It seemed like there was nothing this place could do right. We finally asked for the bill, and the manager returned saying he took care of the entire thing and gave us vouchers to come back so they could«try to make things right.» In the end, the effort was appreciated, but I wish it didn’t get that far. We could understand if it were a minor mistake, but it seems the whole situation was just a mess from beginning to end. I hate being«that customer» at restaurants because I’ve served my fair share of those, but I’ve never experienced anything like that before and I’ve certainly never given service that badly before in my time as a server! It’s a shame that an establishment like that would leave such a bad impression, whether it was the server’s fault or the management’s for not training their staff correctly. Either way, we will be using the vouchers at another location, simply because we have them, but we will definitely not be returning to the Bourbon Street location ever again.

Conveinent location in wem bourbon street. Hip trendy lounge or nice leather booth seating in restaurant. $ 8 kid menus. Classics that great after a long day at the mall. Moxies…oh moxies. It is classic. Its been here for a few years and whenever I come to bourbon street its normally where I eat. Mostly bc its kid friendly but feels more like a hip bar. After putting up with the mobs in the mall or just a day at waterpark or galaxyland. This is my personal choice on bourbon street. Its a chain, so prices are not much steeper than their other locales. The classic reds and leather… dark lighting makes u feel like you are eating in a lounge. I like the style in this moxies over all the locations ive been to in edmonton. For starters the calamari was good. It came with a chipolte mayo and a sweet salsa. They were crisp and came with deep fried ginger and jalapenos too. A decent dish. I had the chicken mushroom pizza. It was on a fluffy pita like bread and came with nice slivers of parmesan, sauteed mushrooms and plenty of chicken. It was great finger food and was surprisingly filling. Its different than what im accustomed too. But it was still good. My friend had the fish tacos. He said they were crispy and fresh. With three large tacos it was super filling. Overall the food is perfect to satisfy your hunger pans if you dont like food courts(ewwww). But these classics are always good and I can come for a quick bite and have good service in about one hour. When you are shopping or tired of the mall this is welcoming. And once inside it doesnt feel at all crowded. You can talk loud and bother noone. Overall I keep coming back bc its decent and probably the best the mall has to offer(other than the red piano). I only minused a star bc food is good but not outstanding. I come back time and time again bc I do in fact love their spinach salad. N most of the sandwiches are pretty good too. For the mall its pretty good.

Their Kale and quinoa salad with roasted chicken breasts strips was a true delicious and healthy choice. Every mouthful was full of freshness from the veggies and seeds. The fruity slushy Margarita was refreshing and thirst quenching. The menu was a bit predictable though. When it comes to dessert, it’s nice to have a mini size on certain items to choose from. My original server brought me the bill when I was having dessert and told me there was absolutely no rush. A few minutes later another server came over and asked in a pleasant tone as how I would pay. I was still working on my dessert. It was a bit odd. They were far from closing. What was the rush? It would’ve been a 4-star experience otherwise.

A million bars in Edmonton, and I ended up in the Moxie’s lounge on Bourbon St. I was in the area because a friend from out of town was staying in a hotel around the mall. When we wanted to hang out and grab some drinks(and dessert) before calling it a night, we decided to stop off at Bourbon Street just because it was close and simple. We had originally intended to go to Sherlock Holmes’, but who’da thunk it’d be COMPLETELY packed at 11 pm on a Saturday(that was sarcasm). We took a short stroll down the Street before deciding on Moxie’s, simply because we’d get a table and still be able to hear each other over the ambiance. I had a mojito, Moxie-sized, and the salted caramel cheesecake. The drink was pretty standard. The cheesecake was described as «scented» with salted caramel… which is what intrigued me most. Upon it’s arrival, the cheesecake did not smell like salted caramel, but it did taste like salted caramel. I was in a caramel kinda mood, and this cheesecake comes covered with berries and a sweet berry-flavoured sauce, making it more fruity than caramel-y. It was good – but not really what I was expecting. The server was nice and friendly, everything came promptly, and they only messed up on one person’s drink(she had ordered regular sized, but they brought her Moxie sized… and then they gave her the dessert for free for making the mistake). Not the hottest joint in Edmonton on a Saturday night, but it served its purpose!

Moxie’s feels somewhat like a Boston Pizza with an Asian fusion restaurant décor. There is a predictable line up of popular appetizers and main dishes to appeal to a wide variety of preferences. Whether it’s salmon, chicken, or beef I always find their meats to be flavorful and well cooked. I would recommend fries before salad as your side dish as I find their side salads to be the smallest I have ever received at any restaurant and im not a fan of some of the ingredients they put in them. I also suggest against sitting in the lounge unless your expecting a long wait to be seated in the restaurant area. My dining companion and I were stuck in there the last time we were at West Ed and found the lighting to be dim and the area to be very loud. If you can get past the shouting and squinting as well as the slightly predictable menu this is a fine place to sit down and have a meal. If your looking for something more exotic or for an experience unique to bourbon street however keep on walking and check out somewhere like the Red Piano instead.

Looking for a place for lunch or dinner in between your shopping? Moxie’s has a large menu to meet the tastes of guests. We arrived at 5PM on a weekday to find it wasn’t too busy, yet. We were asked if we wanted to sit in the lounge but opted for the restaurant. I can understand why after we were seated in a booth. Across the way was a family with 4 children. I don’t mind there were tables with children but misbehaved children aren’t the most pleasant when you are trying to enjoy your meal. But not the restaurant’s fault and we made the best of our time. The server was efficient and she did keep us waiting a little while to take our order but she refilled our drinks, checked on us to see how we were enjoying our food, and was around when needed. Having been to Moxie’s numerous times over the years, there are a few items I am a fan of including the grilled salmon on naan. I had it with a Caesar salad light on the dressing and good number of croutons. The salmon wasn’t as large a portion as I’ve had in the past but still cooked so it was flaky. I’m glad they didn’t load the sauce on and the sandwich tasted light with the tomato and lettuce. We shared the bite of brownie which was enough dessert with the ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate sauce and brownie. If you are too full from dinner but can’t resist the brownie, order the smaller portion. I think it’s $ 3 and it left me satisfied. Great experience and would be back but not during peak times. When we left a line was starting to form of families. Maybe we’ll try the lounge next time.

Moxie is always a busy place no matter what time you go. My friend and I decided to have lunch here before we hit the stores. I’m not sure if Moxie is trying to save on electricity, because the place was really dim and I had to put the menu up to my eyeballs to see what to order. I’ve pretty much tried most of the food on the menu and there’s nothing that stood out that I wanted to eat again. I usually order from the Sandwich & More section for lunch and was going to settle for something on there until I saw a… new menu. It was the Holiday Feature Menu and chef Alex Chen had comprised a few interesting dishes. My friend just found out that he is allergic to wheat so he can’t eat pasta which is his favorite. I felt so bad for him, but I love pasta and decided to order the Rigatoni. The pasta was drenching in olive oil so much that it was running down my chin and I didn’t realize it until my friend pointed it out after I finished eatting. The pasta was ok. My friend had the Asian Chopped Salad. He said the salad was good. Moxie has really creative food titles and it’s very intriguing to find out how it taste like. The server was attentive and checked up on us regularly. I don’t know, but I just find Moxie to be really normal and the servers are really mechanical. I don’t even bother trying to connect and letting them know how I genuinely feel about my food. There’s no interpersonal interation, the noise level is loud and it’s a fast pace atmosphere. You can’t really relax and enjoy yourself here. Just eat your meal, use the somewhat organized and clean bathroom, pay your bill and get out of there. LOL

Came here to see if the steak is any different from the other location nearby. Parking is available all around the shopping mall. This location is a bit unique for 2 reasons: 1) most of the restaurant is raised for some reason. You have to go up a flight of stairs. They even have a mini-elevator in here for the wheelchairs. 2) compared to other locations, the lighting here was a bit too dim. So dim that my group had trouble reading our menus. I resorted to using the flash on my smartphone. Service was professional, but a bit lacking as the layout probably prevents the staff from having a good view of all the tables. We had to wave down another server to fetch ours. Sweet chili chicken — reminded me of sweet and sour pork in terms of the sauce. Tasty, but the portion was tiny(almost bite-sized). Served with fries. Calamari — again, super tiny portion for $ 11. Top sirloin — surprisingly chewy, borderline rubbery. I’m not sure if this is because I ordered«blue rare» though, so I won’t fault the restaurant on this one. When they said rice, I thought they meant rice pilaf, but nope, it was a pile of plain white rice, just like what you’d find in a Chinese food court. The vegetables were quite tasty. My group had a good time, and the seats were pretty decent. I just wish they’d turn up the lights a bit.
