Wonderful little space, and amazing food! You won’t even notice everything is vegan because you are too busy marvelling at how delicious everything is! Even if you are not into live music(which you should be) come for the culinary expertise!

I’m reviewing their vegan restaurant! This restaurant is great for vegans or meat eaters. We ate with non vegetarians and they loved it! I have been for brunch and dinner and both times were amazing I love how the menu is not all fake meat but whole foods. The service was great Can’t wait to go back.

I came here one evening to watch my brothers band preform. Having only heard of this place, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Nestled in a hidden spot close to down town, the location is perfect for loud music that comes oozing out of the entrance. No noise complaints from residential properties. For a music venue this place has pretty great acoustics! I’ve been to other establishments and Mercury Room really impressed me in that aspect. Although the set-up leaves something to be desired, it’s certainly not the worst. A little cramped and the bar is in the worst possible spot, but seeing as it’s a restaurant during regular business hours I guess it is what it is. What I will applaud them for is their bar/drink system! No waiting at a bar getting to flag down a bartender… Simply… WAITINTHELINEUP! With limited bar space this is genius! While I didn’t notice this concept when I first walked in and walked right up to the bar and ordered, I now know. The bartender didn’t didn’t even scold me. Drinks are priced accordingly and their selection of beers, ciders and spirits are impressive for its size. While I can’t say it’s a place I would frequent, if a show came by that I wanted to see I wouldn’t hesitate to visit again.

There are a few reviews on here for the Mercury Room as a concert venue, but nothing on here for it as a vegan restaurant. So here it is — a five star review for it as a vegan restaurant. Fine, we ate there months ago but highlights were: 1) The coconut cream served with fresh fruit — it tasted just liked whipped cream. 2) The vegetable pie I had — both pretty and tasty And admittedly, I forget what else I had and what made it great. I started this review a few months ago — I just need to go again and post an update. But this is the best vegan food I’ve hd in Edmonton.

I’ve never been here for show, so I can’t comment on the location as a venue. But they have awesome vegan brunch and dinner! So tasty!

Definitely an up-and-coming venue on Edmonton’s music scene. There is a very hip vibe and some tasty vegan food and bottles of craft beer to be found here. The acoustics are pretty good and it’s quite an intimate venue, albeit a bit small. More washroom facilities would be a good idea, but otherwise a great place to enjoy some music and brews.

We went here for a night of stories where different people had exactly 5 minutes to entertain you and certain audience members voted for the best ones. It was super fun. But the venue itself was really cool too. It had a underground, New York, grungy kind of feel to it. There was lots of seating at small tables, a great different kind of date night. We ordered the fish tacos(as my wife can never resist them if their on the menu). They were great. That also had some cool different snacks on the menu like house made bits and bites I believe. I think this place is only open for events but it would be a fantastic intimate environment so see a band play. I recommend checking it out.

This place has the potential to be a hip place with unique live entertainment. It needs work though. I went to go see the CD release party of the band Reaper In Rouge, a great rockabilly band. The place is stretched out with a low ceiling. Feels like an underground secret you tell your friends about. The big problem I had was the washroom or should I say the single unisex toilet that was hidden away down a long hallway. If that place was any busier or the people were any drunker, you’d never get in there. The sound system wasn’t great and that really is too bad because the live bands deserve better. On the plus side the bartender there was awesome. I was trying to find a good shot for my friend’s birthday and I took my phone with the app Mixology to see if he could make the shots I showed. I decided on a shot called the Bart Simpson and he made it really well. It was a popular shot of the evening. So check them out, give local talent a chance. Room for growth.

We came to this venue for Paint Nite and there was likely about 40 people painting that night. It’s a room with bright lighting and there were table and chairs set up in the middle. Around the outer edge are stools and high chairs for painting. It wasn’t too cramped but with winter coats, we put them on the chairs that were along the side. The atmosphere didn’t feel as great for painting event as other venues. There’s a bar that accepts cash and an ATM. The stage isn’t big but I would say decent for a small music venue. There’s one bathroom in the back and the sink area is separate from the toilet with a closed door. Older but clean. There’s angled parking on 114 Street. It was full by the entrance and we parked almost a block away but it was free parking.

So this place is really like a 3 star, but I love live music and I feel like YEG is severely lacking in venues, so just for being who you are Mercury Room, you get 4. The venue is in the Blue Sky Lofts over by MacEwan. Not the easiest to transit to, however there is lots of parking along the street which is great. My friend and I went to see Matt Barber(insert heart eyes emoji) and he had 2 openers. We got there near the end of the first and all the seats were taken– both at the tables and those set out in rows for everyone. We awkwardly hung out by the bar for a song when a guy(who I assume was the manager?) came over and said«I’ll bring more chairs right out». That was so awesome– I was expecting that since we got there late we were SOL, but they were great about making sure everyone had a place to sit. Great service– though the chairs were horribly uncomfortable, so I guess you can’t win them all, ha. The selection at the bar was really good, though their domestic beers were supposed to be $ 5 and I ordered an AlleyKat(how much more domestic can you get!?) and it was $ 7. That kinda sucked, but I got over it as soon as the sweet, sweet voice of Matt B started. #swoon The show was great, the venue intimate and I will be back for more.

I’ve been there about quite a few times for the DARQ night. Over all a pretty swell night, the D.J.s play what you want to hear and take requests(and actually play them!) The drink specials seem to be on par with what other places charge and the bartenders seem friendly and give you a glass of water for free if you request it. Over all clean and friendly place and they serve food late into the night!!! Definitely a place to visit again and again.

I went here to watch my friend’s show. She dances for Capital City Burlesque and Blue Sky’s Café/Mercury Room is their new regular venue. This was my second time attending a show here, and after being late last time and having to stand, my friends and I decided to go early to secure a good spot. We arrived a full hour before the show only to learn they opened the doors 30mins earlier, and all the seats were already taken. This would be fine if there actually was enough standing room to accommodate the rest of us that wanted to see the show, but the odd low-ceiling layout with unfortunately placed pillars prevented you from finding any spot with a good sight line. As time went by it became clear they grossly oversold the number of tickets for what the venue could actually hold. When I complained, they insisted they sold«to capacity» which is 120 people but not only am I certain there was way, way more than 120 people in that room(try 200, minimum), the odd set up with the chairs in the middle, tables against the walls and poorly marked aisles was undoubtedly breaking fire code. I think it’s great that the interest in CCB is leading to sold out shows but it’s time to graduate to a venue that can actually accommodate your fans. The show started 20 minutes late, but was otherwise good. However, by the second act another patron was insisting she needed to fight me(seriously) because I was blocking her line of vision(not my fault since where else was I going to sit or stand??). I waited for my friend to finish her solo in the show then left, because I generally make a point not to engage in fist-fights. I’m disappointed that CCB attracts such a rough crowd, as there was more than one unsavoury character in the audience. Both the venue manager and the girls of CCB were sympathetic and spoke to the scrappy patron, asking her to leave. We were then offered to be led up front or to various spots in the back to see the rest of the show, but by this time there were only two numbers left and I had little interest in returning to exactly where I started out: standing in an overcrowded room trying to peer over heads and around pillars to see the stage. Thanks but no thanks; we won’t be back.
