Good food at reasonable prices, my wife called the Cesar salad the beat she had ever had.

I was shopping at the City Centre Mall and decided to have lunch at Lazia. The staff weren’t really friendly… A bit rude at times. I’m not sure if that’s because I’m a lady of colour or the server is just normally rude with everyone… Anyway… I ordered the sea food plater. The food was not bad but not great either. My fries were so oily and there was barely 3 shripms in my plate. I didn’t try the rice because it had a funny color. Mussels were delicious but the sauce was really salty. It ended costing me $ 40 for a not so great 2 course dinner. Ask me if I’ll eat there again… The answer is no and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Was there and asked to sit in the little room up front the waiter asked the manager that was sitting at the bar and between 2 bites he said no that’s it went back to eat. I was right beside him he didn’t even look at me when he answered. The bartender was embarrassed. Anyway we all left and they never tried to accommodate us.

We loved our time spent at Lazia last week. The environment was nice and romantic with a great use of low lights throughout. The backlight from the bar made it feel like a classy night club. This is the perfect spot to stop in at either after a long day of power shopping at city centre mall or before a late night movie at city Centres landmark theatres. They will also provide you with a parking pass for the parkade on your next visit, however there is a bit of street parking that is free just outside there after 6 pm. The food is always well prepared and presented. One of my favorites is the butter chicken. It is full of flavor and spices without lighting my sensitive mouth on fire. They also have great curry, and many other Asian fusion dishes. They have something to make everyone happy. It’s a solid choice for a birthday or an anniversary. For a big group or romantic dinner for 2.

It is a beautiful bar and restaurant, I think I was there several years ago but don’t remember it looking this good. I unfortunately missed the apps but others said the food was good. I am not often downtown but I would eat here if I was downtown. Great before a movie.

I came here last night for a Unilocal Elite James Bond themed party… To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much as it’s been many years since I’ve dined here and all because on two separate occasions, I found hair in my food — so I stayed far far away. But I’m happy to report that my opinion has shifted into a much higher regard for this underrated restaurant! I was able to try a sampling of some of their new menu items, including salmon lollypops, lobster bisque, mini chicken drumsticks, breadsticks with dip, mixed salad and lamb meatballs. Everything was impressive and tasty! The lounge-side of the restaurant is classy and cool and perfect for post work-day drinks in my opinion. I think I’ll come back another time soon to try out other items from their menu!

Great restaurant. I came here before an event and it was a real pleasure. Fusion food, and daily drink specials paired with perfect service. As reviewers of mine might know, I always take a star off if their isn’t parking available. You can park for free in the heated underground Bay Parkade if you go to Lazia and get a redemption voucher. Craft beer Tuesdays and free parking? 5 stars.

I’m impressed! Came here last night for a Unilocal Event and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of variety of nibbles on offer, some tasty stuff that will make me return to check out the full menu. The staff were truly excellent. Friendly and Über efficient. Drinks and snacks aside. …this place is gorgeous. It’s plush and hip and I’d return again as an after work crowd type or on a weekend. The music was REALLYREALLY good which was a pleasant surprise. BONUS — FREEPARKING. The staff will give you a coupon which gets you out of the Bay Parkade lot. The parking is SUCH a big draw of Lazia for me. It’s a great underground lot that’s within steps up to Lazia. I’ll be back!

A friend and I would come to this place to have lunch every once in awhile. We lived for those parmesan fries! And the beet salad was fantastic. Fast forward a few years and I’m getting reacquainted with Lazia. The deadly parmesan fries are gone, but I soon got over it when I began drooling over the updated menus. My boyfriend and I each got our own plate of hot box wings… Certainly the fanciest and best tasting wings I’ve ever had(for 9 $, which is the approximate cost of regular wings anyway.) I love the candied beets beneath each wing. I decided to order the beet salad(i heart beets) because it looked changed… Boy, was I right. That thing was so sweet that I’m not even convinced it could be healthy. Alas, is must be because there was green on it! As well as purple sponge looking garnish with strange dots on it — it also tasted delicious but I wish I could remember what it was. Either way, Lazia continues to hold it‘s title for supreme beet salad. The man got himself the seafood hotpot and loved it, as well. All in all, it was a lovely romantic dinner out, topped with $ 5 glasses of house wine. Would easily recommend.

I had the pleasure of doing a menu sampling with Richard, the owner of Lazia. I haven’t been to the restaurant in a few years and figured it would be a great way to reacquaint myself. I recalled the cocktail selection to be unique and extensive– it certainly did not disappoint! The lychee martini was my drink of choice. It was crisp and flavorful without being too sweet. Our waiter poured it at the table as it has special ‘fog’ presentation(that was really the selling point for me). We started with the Peas on Earth salad which was topped with roasted kale chips. Delicious! From there, we moved on to small plates– the newest menu edition. These plates are designed as sharables and range from Asian fusion to gourmet chicken wings to savory donuts. Lastly, we enjoyed a range of entrees including salmon, steak and hot pot. I was stuffed! The location, atmosphere and menu make Lazia a great place to start or end your evening. I will definitely be coming back for a girls night out! Tips: Lazia is open for lunch and also has a takeout menu. There are $ 4 drink specials on ladies night and most importantly– there is free customer parking! Access to customer parking: Enter the Edmonton City Center parkade from 103 Street which is across from the Grand Hotel. Pull a ticket and you will need to turn right and go down to the lower levels. Look for the Bay Parkade which is two levels in the basement below. There are blue Bay Parkade signs on the ceiling to direct you towards a triple garage door on your left side. Drive close to it and it will open up for you to enter. Proceed to the ticket station and insert the ticket you have into the slot to raise the bar and proceed to the lower parkade. Work your way towards the left where the sliding glass doors are and park in a public spot and leave the ticket on the dash board of your car. Use the elevator to go up to the main floor where we are across the Bay. Upon exiting pay with a voucher that you will be at the restaurant.

This place is inconsistent, I cannot recommend this restaurant for now. Had Wagyu Beef Cheeks. Potatoes and peas are good, moist and full of flavour. The tomatoes and beef on the other hand are over cooked which is disappointing. I wanted to like this place as I like Wildflower but for now, they have some issues they need to work on.

Just had lunch there– hadn’t been for a while and they have changed up their menu a bit. I tried the flatbread. It was really bad, it reminded me of a michelenas frozen pizza. I’m not a picky eater generally, but this was pretty sub-par food. Also, not at all filling. Additionally, they brought out the rest of my group’s food and forgot about me for a fair bit of time. A different server(manager?) eventually quality checked and he was able to bring it out. They also forgot the shrimp on one of my group’s salads. So, clearly they are having a bad day.

In city centre? Be sure to stop for a refresher at Lazia. I enjoyed starting with the Rosemary Fizz(gin, fresh lemon, rosemary, and soda) to clean my palette then ordered my late lunch of scallops and shrimp. I always feel so fancy smancy when the food comes out looking like a piece of abstract artwork. I loved every thing about this dish. My only criticism is make sure bacon goes potatoes. The delicious saucy scallops sat on curried polenta while the shrimp sat on bland potatoes, nothing much more to say about that except the scallop sauce saved it from making boring eating faces. Great service with excellent drink specials each day of the week!

Great little restaurant in the mall. The fusion food is very interesting and tasty. It was my 2nd time there(once for lunch and once for dinner), and both times I left very content and satisfied. Their dishes are not too expensive, and there is quite a bit of selection. The best dish I had there was the salad(with kale, snow peas, seeds, etc.). I’m a big«Meatetarian», so to say the salad was excellent means… it was EXCELLENT! I also had the risotto. Great comfort food. At lunch I had some sort of triple meat skewer dish. I can’t recall exactly what they were, but I just remember being very happy. And isn’t that what a good meal issupposed to do… Not just leave you full, but to leave you with a mental state/emotion/feeling of satisfaction and contentment. That’s what Lazia did… good job!

the braised beef cheeks were amazing, so tender, that I could barely feel my fork enter the meat. It was a great dinner entrée, although I went for the Burratta and was greatly disappointed(sorry) the freshness just wasn’t there for that dish

Because it is close to our office, we often head over to Lazia for group lunches. I used to find The service at Lazia to be a bit slow but it has improved greatly as I observed during my last two visits. Lazia is a great choice for groups because there are a variety of choices on the menu, like an Earls or Cactus Club. From sandwiches to pasta to stir frys and salad, there is something for everyone. My favourites include the Parmesan fries, the Mac and cheese and the spicy chicken sandwich. There are also often great specials which are of good value. If you’re looking for a nice sit down lunch that is in the medium price range, Lazia is a good option in Edmonton’s city centre! It is quite busy, so it’s a good idea to make a reservation if you know ahead that you’ll be going for lunch!

Came for lunch with friends and glad we could make a reservation and when I arrived, I informed them we needed to add one more person. It took a few minutes but they seated us in a half booth, half chairs by the bar. I looked at the menu and it seemed like they are suffering from an identity crisis. There are the Asian entrées and appies but most of them were labelled spicy. Along with these dishes there are steaks, salads, and sandwiches so a mish mash of different foods. I was disappointed there wasn’t a rice bowl I could order that wasn’t spicy. The prices are a bit on the high end for lunch but not expected for the restaurant with the décor and atmosphere. There was a specials page included with the regular menu and most of my friends decided on the lobster and steak with rice for $ 18. They all enjoy it as it came with a large amount of fried rice with sauce on top, a small lobster tail, and steak stir fry. Large portion for lunch though. I decided on a light lunch of $ 6.95 for 2 soft corn tortillas and your choice of filling. I picked the breaded mahi mahi and slaw. This is an appetizer so they were pretty small. I wasn’t a fan of them as the cornmeal breading was thicker than the fish and too dry and crunchy. I don’t even know if I ate any fish! Would have been better to have unbreaded fish tacos. Service was decent. If I ordered the steak and lobster, I might have enjoyed the experience more. The company of friends was definitely better than the food here.
