Came here for the fights last night with my girl friend. First time and definitely not last. Service was great. And the food was actually delicious. Great north side spot to catch the games.

This place needs to be shut down. After a waitress was rude about not getting the tip she wanted, she threatened that her brother owned the place. We left and shortly after, this resulted in us getting attacked in the parking lot at midnight. 5 of their staff swarmed us and threw one of our guys to the ground kicking and punching him while one other punched me(a girl) in the face to stop me from helping him.

We went late Saturday for a beer and something to eat. We had to interrupt the bartender to order, she was texting. After a lengthy wait, she brought us our food, both buns were burnt on the top because the food had sat under the heat lamps while she was texting. When I mentioned the food was burnt, she said«I didn’t cook it» and walked away. Unbelievable.

We ordered 4 apps. For three of us. Dry Garlic Ribs, Onion rings, Spinich Dip and quesadilla. First bite into the garlic ribs was a chunk of fat and over seasoned fries with it. Onion rings were actually pretty good but I would hope so for $ 10.95. Quesadilla’s with chicken were also good but they charged us $ 1.50 each for salsa and sour cream to go with it. Good way to nickle and dime you. The guy at the table next to us had a pizza that was half pineapple and ham and the other half was pepperoni and mushroom and was charged for 4 topping pizza. Found our waitress pretty Good but the other wItress serving his table was pretty rude. Will never go back there again.

I had just moved to edmonton from Ontario when I started working at jox. Terrible choice. Poor management and rude wait staff. I was being trained by one girl who was covering the entire floor while training me. including the bar and back patio. Every customer that came in was complaining about the heat(it was the middle of summer) the«boss» didn’t realize the ac was broken and blasting out hot air. To top it off I was never given a proper schedule. Just being told when to show up the next day. After the 4th day of 9 hour shifts in the heat of this restaurant. I told my «boss» that I wasn’t able to come in the next day. i received a rude TEXT from the so called boss/owner who goes by the name range that he wanted his jox uniform shirt back and he wished me the best of luck finding another job. I was not paid for any of my hours worked. And he took a cut from the tips that a did make. This place is extremely unprofessional. Not only will I never eat there or step foot in that place, I make sure I tell everyone I know to steer clear!

This page had really good service and even better food, best pizza I’ve had in Edmonton and deep fried pickles! Food is made fresh! All their dips are home made too! You want really good food? Go to Jox!

WORSTBAREVER! I would give NOSTARS if it was possible! Every Monday my boyfriend and I go for a bike ride, with ending the ride with a beer and some wings. Last Monday we went to Jox. This was our second time including Jox into our Monday adventure. The first time we went, everything went well. Ok beer ok wings. Not great, but ok. THISTIME, the service was absolutely awful. My boyfriend and I were emerged in a conversation to which as we were laughing, one of the staff walked by us and assumed we were laughing at him. He then came over to our table and confronted us on why we’re laughing. We explained it was a private conversation and had nothing to do with him. He then made it as though he was looking for a fight with us. The situation got so bad that this guy who worked there proceeded to make it known to everyone else there that we were being a problem. This was absolutely so offensive, scary and insulting. I would never in my life recommend this place to anyone. It’s a scary place with less then qualified people running it. To top it all off the food was just ok not even good. The only reason we went back was for the cheapER beer. This place is gangster filled and the worst bar to exist. If you decide to go there … Make sure you keep your laughing down otherwise you might be in a brawl with the bartender. Good luck !

First time a couple weeks ago, didn’t mind the place. Loved the sports bar vibe. Great wings. Me and the boys are sure to be back… Waitresses were not too shabby to look at haha

I have never heard, nay, never even knew Jox existed until last night when I went with my squash team for a few post game beers and wings. The place is a typical sports bar but I would say a tad darker and slightly more«upscale»(that is a generous use of the term but you know what I am trying to get at…). The place itself was pretty busy for a Wednesday night but I’m assuming a lot of people were there for the Oilers game. We ordered from their specials/deals for the night: — Pints of Kokanee($ 5) — not a fan of kokanee but the price is right. — 4 baskets of wings($ 0.35/wing) — we tried four flavours(spicy thai, salt and pepper, honey garlic and tex mex). The best one was tex mex which you should definitely try. — Medium pizza(free) — pepperoni mushroom pizza. Not very big but enough for each of us to have a small slice. Free because it’s part of the squash league deal. Overall, it was better than I expected. Guess it’s always good to have low/no expectations. I’d give it a 3.5 stars. Service was a bit spotty though — think they were understaffed for the amount of people they had last night. But food came out quick and it was pretty good for bar food. On par with Hudson and those other bar food chain places that dominate the Edmonton landscape.

On a quest to find places we like on the north end. From the outside this place is rather unassuming. I was surprised when I first went in as the place has a great layout, its more of an upscale sports bar. It was busy for a weeknight and the service was great. They have a good selection of beers on tap and a full menu with a few unique items as well as all the types of foods you expect to see in a sports bar. We sat at the bar and were impressed with the service and enjoyed the atmosphere. Lots of large screen TVs all over the place for the sports fans and some big oversized booths. I would recommend this sports bar, its a good find for the north end.

What is it with waitresses wearing kilts now? There’s even certain establishments out there now that have ‘kilt’ in their business name. Who finds this hot? We all know the joke about Scotsman and kilts so this kinds of puts a damper on the sexiness of it. I’m sure the sheep agree with me. Anyway, me and my peeps(first time I’ve used that word, BTW) went to Jox for lunch last Friday afternoon. It was pretty quiet in there so there were a lot of tables to choose from. Our kilted waitress approached us right away with menus and took our drink orders. My posse(another first time word usage) all ordered beers but I said that I was fine for now. When she brought their drinks over she brought a glass of water for me which I thought was a cool gesture since I hadn’t asked for anything. I ordered the chicken tenders with fries which were served in a timely manner. Everyone at our table received their food at the same time and our waitress was attentive throughout. The choice of food is exactly what you would expect from a sports bar/pub. Most of the prices are in the $ 10 – 15 range. Jox is a friendly, harmless, and spacious place to go for lunch. There are a couple of other reviews here that unfairly call the place a dive. It’s not the One Hundred Bar Kitchen but it’s not a scummy, skid row joint either. I’ve never been to Jox at night during peak hours. I’m not into sports bars. Being surrounded by a bunch of drunk armchair athletes and their bulging guts as they yell at TV screens really isn’t my thing.(Maybe they should wear the kilts.) So needless to say, I can’t comment on nightlife at Jox.

OK Lets get one thing straight I’m not a sports fan at all. I came in with hubbs to make him happy, and to watch the UFC fight last night. The bar is very much sports oriented with lots of screens around with different sports on each screen. They have some nice booths, a pool and dart area, and of course the slots. And there’s a restaurant section, just off the bar area. Its a fairly big place, definitely not a small place. I was more interested in food since I never ate and I was starving… We ordered the Tuscan pizza and some salad with Tomatoes, Cucumber and Boccacini, WOW. I’ve been to other Italian restaurants and this food we had last night was Fantastic. The pizza was a thin crust loaded in Prosciutto and Boccacini, just what I like. The salad, was loaded with Tomatoes, and Boccacini, they were not cheap in ingredients. Who would have thought a sports bar would have such good Italian Food. My mouth is watering just writing about it. :b…

Jox Sports Bar & Grill is one of the«sponsor bars» associated with the Edmonton Sport & Social Club, which is why I have come to experience it a few times now. It is a little dive bar located in a strip mall on the north end of Edmonton. The inside of the bar is pretty nice as far as pubs go — I’d say it’s on par with Brewhouse or Hudsons, but cleaner, larger, less busy and catering to an older crowd. There is a karaōke stage at the front of the restaurant and I believe they often have theme nights revolving around that. The food is all right — I don’t mind the menu, they offer regular bar food like nachos and burgers and wings, and then have things like thin crust pizzas, a variety of salads, and lasagna. I have been here on Thursday nights and that’s .50 cent prawn night. Surprisingly, the prawns are pretty good(and pretty big) — I recommend the Lemon Pepper kind. The service here is where they are really failing. I have been to Jox at least three or four times now, and the waitresses never seem to be around, despite the fact the pub never really seems very busy. Food comes to different individuals at different times and sometimes several people will be done eating their meals, and others won’t have even gotten theirs yet. On a walk to the bathroom I noted that the kitchen window was PILED with food waiting to be picked up by the servers for drop-off at the tables… it was pretty bad. Prices are pretty decent and every night they have a different promotion going on. If you want a pub atmosphere, decent food, a place on the North end and don’t mind slow service, then Jox may be your place.

Went to UFC there. Paid $ 10to sit in a corner. Waited forever for a beer and the waitress was too busy flirting with customers to take our food order. I’m sure management means well by hiring all the hussies, it’s great to look at, but the service and overall experience sucks.

The service is friendly and they are actually really nice people but the food was not so good. The only good thing about this place were the wings. The place is fairly large and very spacious. They have seating that can hold a group of people. The entire place has a dark vibe to it and as soon as you walk in you don’t feel very comfortable here. The only thing I liked was the servers.

I don’t really go to too many sports bars considering I’m not a sports watching kind of girl, but my friend loves the wings night they have going at Jox Sports Bar and Grill so he’s asked me a couple of times to join in on the fun. The place is really big, so there’s lots of seating if you have a big group of people. I’ve only ordered the wings and they are really good. I don’t think you can go too wrong with the wings anywhere; anyways, they are good. They guys that I go with love the other appetizers on the menu(I think they’ve tried all of them). As for the«real food» I can’t really tell you what is good and what is not. What I can tell you is that the servers are nice, but watch out for your bill. Sometimes there can be a little bit of a mix up. Once you point it out they are really nice about fixing it.

I went to Jox for lunch one day when I was on the north end of the city and will never go back. While the service was fairly friendly, the food was terrible. Maybe it’s just what I ordered — a turkey brie sandwich with cranberry sauce on it — but it was disgusting. It was also pretty dark and dingy in there, despite it being spacious with lounge décor. This place is owned by Sorrentino’s Group, and I’m not sure why they’d want to have such a dive bar in their portfolio. They call it the north end’s «premier lounge» but to me it looks like it used to be something nice, but the new bar took it down a notch from what it could be.
