We went to this restaurant today for lunch in search of some basic westernized Chinese food. We ordered a meal combo for two, and asked our soup(comes with wonton) to be switched to hot and sour. I can say that the soup was the best part of our meal! We are huge hot and sour soup fans, and theirs definitely is fantastic! It’s hearty and has quite a bit of meat in it, which you don’t see usually. The rest of our meal with unremarkable, but that’s sort of what we wanted; basic. Unfortunately, we cut our meal short and asked for our cheque shortly after our food arrived. We were the only customers in the restaurant, so we were looking forward to a quite lunch. This wasn’t what we got. The server, who wasn’t very polite in the first place, was extremely LOUD. It’s as if we weren’t even sitting there. She yelled over us to the kitchen staff almost the whole time! When I say«yell», I mean it. We couldn’t stand it anymore so we just left. The waitress commented on how soon we were leaving, but I don’t think she got the point. We won’t go back, unless maybe for the soup, and only take out.

Love this place. It’s awesome comfort food and the owner is super nice. Her food is always quickly prepared and tastes delicious. Strangely enough it’s delicious for Caucasians and Asians alike. I always get the brisket hot pot and Ying yang fried rice.

Had a big party and ordered the food out and all our guests were impressed. I hope we gained them some customers. The lady was so generous with us. Mmmmm

Really bad service, they couldn’t recommend popular dishes and were rude. We left before ordering and probably won’t be returning here.

It seems for every Chinese restaurant there are people that either love it or hate it. I can see that would be no different for Golden Taste. My family has been going to this place since it opened and even when it was the Boss. Overall we have always been very happy with the food and the friendly family atmosphere we experience there. Being regulars tends to help that out, but again I find many people are loyal to their Chinese restaurants. The Crispy chicken is always good, and the peapod leaf is always fresh. Like most good Chinese restaurants the décor and atmosphere are not a part of the menu so focus on the food, which is genuinely good. My grandfather was a chef from China so we grew up with Chinese food and I give this place a thumbs up for sure.

low end of ordinary food — not even food court… food was bland and oily; won ton soup smelled and tasted like tepid water. Food seemed mostly prepackaged, and poor quality. Seating area was spare, but ok. Kitchen, seen through the swing door, looked kinda iffy. Felt kinda«ick» after — couldn’t finish food.

RUDEST staff at Golden Taste!!! I hope you all don’t ever have to call them and try to make a reservation. They will brush you off, demean you when they find out you’ve called the wrong restaurant and then hang up. I’ve been there once and wasn’t impressed by their dishes but after my experience with them today, I will NEVER go back and will strongly encourage all my friends not to either. No potential customer should ever be yelled at… Shame on you.

Nice and clean restaurant. Food is a little blant but reasonably priced. Service was prompt and friendly. Large and spacious restaurant.

Christmas morning and we were deciding where to go eat for lunch. We remembered that Golden Taste just opened and decided to check it out since it’s not far from where we live. Everything inside is brand new, organized and presentable. Menus are clean and easy to read. It looked like most of the staff were family. We wanted some dim sum items, but it wasn’t available today. Kind of disappointing considering that we always have dim sum on Christmas. We ordered a few dishes to share, Preserved Egg and Pork Congee, Vegetable Chow Mien and Beef Pan Fried Noodles in a Black Bean Sauce. These dishes came out pretty quickly. The vegetable were nice and green, fresh and the chow mein was crunchy. The funny thing is that all dishes were really bland. There was no distinct flavors in the food. My sister wanted to re-do lunch. The tea was steaming hot and the waitress was attentive. We finished our meal in 30 minutes and left. Nothing really spectacular… except I like how they have verbal demands at their family out in the open. Reminds me of how my family«communicates» with one another.
