Elite Event: Fall Footie Fun with FC Edmonton!

I love that the Sawmill catered this event and that there were new Molson products to enjoy.
It was a real treat getting to meet the management and coaching staff of FC Edmonton and hearing them talk shop before the game.
Jennie had us treated like royalty in our own VIP tent section on the field.
The only criticism I had was the temperature of the day because it melted the delicious Nanaimo bars :-)
I hope Jennie can do more with local sports teams in the future. This was one fantastic day for the books!

Amazing event. Food and company top-​notch. Loved the candy table, all the FC black and blue. Haven’t had a Fanta since I was a kid. Super selection of Unilocal swag too.
And the Molson Girls we’re great. Coors Banquet Beer. Mmmmm.

This event was awesome. It was well co-​ordinated (only criticism, please include more info in email about parking!), and a really cool experience. As elegantly stated by other reviewers, Sawmill catered, and they spoiled us — from salmon to meatballs to fried chicken and mash, it was a fantastic spread. I say was because we ate all of it and it was glorious.
The match and weather, to my knowledge completely outside Unilocal control, were enviable. Having a private catered tent with enviable view of the match was something I’ve never experienced before, and in all likelihood am unlikely to experience again. It was, in short, a microcosm of the Unilocal experience itself — a challenge to the adventurer in us all to take on the opportunities in our city and experience something truly unique. And then to share that experience for the enlightenment of others.

Wow this is an amazing time! A perfect balance of the FC Match and the Unilocal Event, both perfectly complimenting each other.

Good food. Good game. Good friends. Good weather. And a GREAT EVENT! We really appreciated the fun atmosphere with the ability to eat and mingle while still watching the game. It was a nice change of pace and being outside on such a gorgeous day couldn’t have been any better!

I was so excited to get to attend this event as my husband is Scottish and has turned me into a «footie fan» over the years! I hadn’t been to Clarke Stadium before, but was pleasantly surprised that it was free parking, not sure if it always is for the matches or just for today, but it was awesome regardless!
As per usual Jennie had our tent all decked out in a theme that matched not only the event, but the colours (blue and black) of Edmonton FC, as well as her usual assortment of Unilocal swag. The food provided by Sawmill Restaurant was great, I had the pasta salad, potatoes, meatballs in gravy, fried chicken and the salmon, small bits of each of course! haha There was also fresh and cooked veggies and rolls, I just didn’t have room for them. The meatballs and salmon were my fav, and the potatoes helped soak up the mushroom gravy left from my meatballs!
The girls from Molson were there and had Coors original, Molson Sublime and Strongbow Cider to choose from. I had the Coors to start as I used to drink it back in the day so I knew I liked it. Then Jennie and the girls talked to me about the new low calorie Sublime beer, it has real lime and lemon juice in it and I believe only 67 calories. it was a pleasant surprise for a light beer as I don’t normally like them.
I checked in on Unilocal when I arrived and there were mini Edmonton FC soccer balls for us, but i set it down and someone else grabbed mine :(haha I did however get a team scarf, which I wore when I road my scooter home to keep the rocks from hitting my neck! All in all Jennie SCORED a big win with this event, although Edmonton FC only tied!

I’ve been to a healthy number of Unilocal elite events over the years. This one was the most interesting. For a long time I’ve wanted to attend an Edmonton FC game. There couldn’t of been a better introduction to our club. We got to hear the coach speak and talk about the strategy for the game, got introduced to the owner, had catering graciously provided by the sawmill and were treated to a wonderfully entertaining game. Edmonton FC hospitality was off the charts and because of this they have a new fan!
I don’t know how Jennie pulls it off, but time and time again she pulls off some innovative elite events. This one really impressed me. The weather was perfect and I couldn’t of thought a better way to spend a sunny Edmonton September afternoon.

A fantastic event out on by Unilocal!As a long time sports fan I must admit I never had come to an FC game.
Great turnout and atmosphere! It was a nice and sunny day, although there was a bit of wind. The tent almost blew away a couple times!
We had great sideline seats to view the game. Awesome perspective from the side. You get to see the players up front and personal.
The food by sawmill was delectable. The smoked candied salmon and fried chicken amongst the best.
As well we had some awesome drinks from Molson, great beers and awesome people.
The best part of elite events is meeting other Unilocalers who enjoy the same stuff that I do. We got to meet some great people and Jennie and Kate did such a great job at making everyone feel at home and introducing people to each other.
Can’t wait until the next event!

Whoot Whoot! Another 5 star Elite Event!
This truly was the cat’s meow today! VIP field tents to watch the game from the sidelines while we were absolutely spoiled by fantastic catering from the Sawmill! Loved the maple salmon, steamed veggies (squash is always a nice touch), and the mushroom gravy for the meatballs was divine! Hubby thoroughly enjoyed sampling the Molson/​Coors beers :-) And thanks Jen K. for the tip to put the sesame sauce on the salmon — divine! I now have a new sauce challenge to master ;-)
