Fast quick little place with great prices pasta. Their pasta dinner when I take out lasts me a few meals so it’s worth the price ten folds.

I would have never found this place if not for Unilocal — what a hidden gem tucked away in a random strip mall! It’s cafeteria-style Italian food — you can pick the pasta(plain, whole wheat, pasticcio, cajun linguine, tortellini) and pick the sauce(sundried tomato, spicy italian sausage, meat, alfredo, spicy mushroom). The $ 7.99 lunch special(which you can also have for dinner) is half-salad, half-pasta. The owner gave us an overview of how things worked and even let me half quarter-sized portions of 2 different pastas and 2 different sauces because I was so indecisive. I had the pasticcio with alfredo which was very cheesy and creamy, as well as the cajun linguine with italian sausage which had a bit of a kick but wasn’t too spicy(which is a good thing)… but I think my favourite was the creamy dill cauliflower and broccoli salad — crunchy, creamy and well complemented by the dill. The food is more homestyle than gourmet, and the décor is bare bones, but everything I tried was tasty and great value for the price. I’d definitely come back when I’m in the neighbourhood again.

I love this place. The food is incredible. The salads are fresh and delicious. I recommend taking fresh pasta and sauce home to cook also. You will be a hero.

This has to be one of the very Best little hole in the wall pasta joints in the city! We used to go here all the time when we were playing football in high school to carb up! It’s also a big favorite of the police station across the street. We walking a lot as it’s quite small only about 15 tables so you can eat there if you want but the atmosphere is nothing special. They usually have an awesome daily special and a multitude of different pastors and sauces that they will show you in the buffet line. Dylan cover everything was fresh and good and you can mix-and-match your pasta and sauces. They also have an awesome all you can eat option for when you’re really hungry it’s great because you can have a couple different types of passes and sauces and sample everything. Add a meat ball as well they are to die for. The other really great thing about this place is that you can take it out past it and bring it home. This place is awesome for take out pasta. You can buy many home made sauces and noodles and freeze them for use later or heat up right away. I suggest the spicy mushroom say he and whole wheat bow tie pasta! It’s deathly a staple for me if or when you feel like that fresh bowl of hot pasta and you’re just too hungry and could eat a horse! Also keeping some of these past is the sauce is in your freezer is a must bring it back ups and awesome ingredients.

This little place is right beside my work so I have been here several times over the last year. It is super fast as they have a few pastas and then a few sauces already prepared as well as salads so you just decide what you want and its on your plate or in your togo container. My favourite is the spicy mushroom sauce on anything. but you can even have half and half of the sauces if you’d like, they are quite accommodating, you also get a fresh little italian bun with it! I always get the half pasta and it’s more than enough to fill me up and they have fresh parmesan cheese and chilies at the till you can add if you like. So if you are in a hurry and want REAL food fast as opposed to the standard drive through varieties, try this place.

The food here is always good. It can be a little generic, but it’s tasty. If you’re looking for something fancy, this is not the place for you. If you want something that hits the spot, tastes good and is easy on the wallet, this is the place to go. My husband originally introduced me to the food here, and we get take out about once a month(or stop in if I have an ultrasound appointment in the west end). The staff is friendly and are always willing to accommodate requests. The décor definitely needs to be updated, and with the amount of business they do, I don’t see why a Reno hasn’t been done.

Bucas & Pastas remains a three-star experience. This place is wildly overrated here on Unilocal

FILLING, best food ever. I love the feel of dinning in Nona’s kitchen. Lunch is awesome, big plates and the best tomato sauce ever. I agree with the fact the price could be a BIT lower but seeing how every time I go in there it’ pretty quiet I understand. I had some today and she had pulled the noodles right out of the pot. Delicious. I’ll go back again, and again. I think it makes a great date place! The leftovers I bring home never hurt either. I dare you too eat a full large plate of cheese ravioli and go have a free bun.

I’m a pretty big fan of this place, despite the fact that it’s not very close to where I live. On the odd occasion though, I will venture to the west end for a bite to eat because it really is pretty good. I have one complaint, and that’s with the price. I think it could be a little lower. And a can of pop shouldn’t cost 1.25. I do think it’s worth trying out though, as you can get a pretty good meal for around 10 dollars. I wouldn’t suggest expecting a gourmet meal or anything, but for lunch, it hits the spot. Edit — According to their website, they have all you can eat pasta for 9.95…why is this not offered when you go into the store? Unless I’m blind, I haven’t seen an advertisement for this in the store.

Amazing food with the added bonus of being able to pretend you’re lining up in a prison cafeteria, giving hard stares to other customers. Unlike a prison cafeteria, however, your chances of getting shanked while waiting in line are drastically reduced. I would totally recommend this place to anyone who likes Italian food or eating in general.
