Updating the hours. Now open until 6 pm. This place is fantastic. Super fresh, great portion and super friendly owner. Battista walked over to the counter welcomed me and introduced himself right away. I told him it was my first time here and he very generously told me the dessert calzone was on him as I was ordering 2 regular ones. Not only that but they sell frozen dough here as well in bags of 4 balls. The best pizza/calzone dough you can get. And it’s cheap! Forget making the dough yourself and getting all the equipment out. Just buy it here. And once again, my first time here, here you go Chris, the dough is on me as well. Let me know how you like it. Talk about friendly and fantastic customer service. He’s really personable and wants to get to know each of his customers. He welcomes me by name every time after this first visit. The calzones are pretty amazing I must say. The Nutella and strawberry dessert calzone was actually pretty awesome and I’m not one for desserts. Not too sweet and the fresh strawberry balances out the Nutella. Highly recommended. I bought the meatball and the deluxe version of the calzones. Beautiful. Hot saucy cheesy little pockets of heaven. This place is in my top 5 for a quick bite in a hurry. Try this place out of you’re looking for a great fast meal.

Battista’s Calzones are one of the few food items I miss from Canada. Battista’s personality, attention to detail and ingredient selection is what makes this place. This will be one of my first stops when I return this summer.

I’ve never had a calzone before, but I certainly will again, and at this restaurant. The dough or «bread» part of the dish was fresh and soft. I had the pesto chicken calzone and it was yummy; my brother had the Classico and he also declared it was very good. It seemed like a good value for $ 9.50 each(and there’s an SUTP coupon if you have a book and a friend to share the 2 for 1 deal). We tried the nutella/strawberry dessert as they were giving samples and it was also tasty, but I would have been too full to eat a full order. I can’t say this was a fast food place as it takes about 20 minutes to get your calzone(they told me that up front when I ordered), but a nice lunch spot.

The best Calzona I’ve had in many years. We had to wait quite a while at lunch today but I think it’s because this place is really catching on, he even had to turn people away because he was running out of ingredients. I’m sure in the future that will be straightened out. great service. We will definitely be back. I wish he was open for late night delivery!

We came in on a whim yesterday for lunch and we couldn’t be happier. We had the pesto chicken and it was to die for. Tasty fillings in a fresh, crisp shell. One was perfect for my husband and half was great for me(and the second half tasted great for lunch today). Battista’s has a welcoming casual atmosphere where you get to see your calzone being made fresh! We got to try the strawberry and nutella dessert calzone and it was deliciously light and sweet. A perfect ending. We don’t live in this side of town but we would definitely make the trip again!

Great food, friendly environment. Batista makes delicious calzones. My favourite is a wiseguy with peppers added. The Nutella desert calzone is amazing, strawberries and Nutella. Love putting the spicy oil on my calzone for an extra zing. They really know how to treat customers like family and everything is made fresh for your order. Great for takeout or even try their take home options.

The filling is more than adequate and the dough is great. Not over cooked and very flavorful. The owners make you feel like valued customers. If you want calzones, this is the place to go!

It doesn’t get much better than this! Friendly, local and absolutely delicious. The couple who own/run the establishment are incredible and welcomed my daughter and I in despite the fact that they were closed. We chatted about supporting local businesses and the ‘weather’ To top the meeting off, they sent us out with thwor own made Calzones. We were delighted. Taste was incredible. We will be lifetime customers!

I love Calzones, man, they know how to make calzones. I have never had one that good before. Homemade dough, fresh ingredients, friendly atmosphere! Great price for the food. Pair it with an authentic Italian soda and you’re set! Takes about 15 minutes to cook once ordered.

Battista’s Calzone is a place I try to take all of my friends for a quick bite when I happen to be in the area. I love places that only do one thing, and do it right. The owner is always here and always smiling when he greets you. He’s often trying out new recipes and is happy to share samples with his customers. There are only a few different calzone choices on the menu here and they are all pretty great. The meatball and pesto are my favorites. These calzones are very light, so don’t expect your typical cheese packed greasy calzone like you’d get from other pizza places. There’s nothing wrong with those calzones, but sometimes you just prefer something lighter. And Battista nailed it.

I had heard from a couple people about this place and how I should try it out. I have to say I have had better. I was really disappointed and we had two different calzone to ensure we got to sample a couple styles. Wasn’t impressed and no desire to go back.

Best calzones period. Dont know another place that beats it. I enjoy the chicken pesto but its always sold out. So buying them frozen makes for a quick lunch option. Come early for best selection.

Despite living about five minutes away by bicycle, I went to Battista’s for the first time(outside of a Unilocal event about a year ago). I work on the other side of town and I’m usually very busy on Saturday mornings and afternoons. But as my office is closed for renovations and I’m working from home, I decided to give it a try for lunch. Battista’s is only open from 11 – 3 from Tuesday to Saturday And I was impressed — my calzone was perfectly constructed — the dough was light, and slightly underdone(this is actually a good thing in my eyes). The sausage had just the right amount of heat, and the cheese was a high quality pizza mozzarella. And while there is a suggested menu, all calzones are made to order and toppings may be substituted. For instance, if you insist on having pineapple in your calzone, but you don’t want the«hawaiian,» you may do so. And the service is friendly — if Battista or his staff are not making calzones, he’s likely chatting with his patrons. Battista’s is worth going out of your way for if you like Calzones. I cannot vouch for their food truck — just the storefront.

What a great little shop for a great meal! Just stopped in here the ither day with a co-worker and was very impressed. The guy working there made sure you felt welcomed right as you walked through the door. It is nice to see great customer service. I had a hawaiian calzone and it was like a tropical vacation in my mouth. Plus we got to try the nutella and strawberries which was amazing. I want to go back and eat more now!

After hearing so much about Battista’s I decided to try it one afternoon and was pleasantly surprised. I got there at 3:30 but they were still open even though their hours said they close at 3pm. I ordered the Spicy Italian and an imported pop and my total came to around $ 11. The calzone itself was quite flavorful and gooey with cheese but it definitely was not spicy at all. I would like to try the meatball calzone next time.

Popped into Battista’s for the first time the other day and was totally blown away! First of all, I phoned to check if they were still open and they were just about to close but said we were more than welcome to stop by as they hadn’t shut everything down yet. Upon arriving, we were pleasantly surprised to find such a welcome and open atmosphere! The shop was converted from a garage and has huge glass windows and a side door that can roll up! Brightly coloured picnic tables are out front and there is even a parking lot attached to the building(which I do appreciate when coming with my children). Battista was super friendly and Liv was quick to suggest we try the Spicy Italian and the Momma Mia(Meatball) calzones. Boy oh boy — they were delish! The best calzones I have ever had and I quite liked the side of marinara to dip in! Battista also served up a sample of his nutella & strawberry calzone — Yummy! The patrons that kept sneaking in after us were regulars who Battista knew by name. The restaurant was clean(bathrooms, too!) and he didn’t even blink an eye when my baby puked on his floor! Yep, that’s right — I said it :-(My little guy puked on his floor and we weren’t made to feel uncomfortable in the slightest! I can’t wait to return to Battista’s for my next diet cheat day! If you haven’t been — go check them out! They are closed Sundays and Monday and are open for Lunch Tues — Saturday from approximately 11−3pm. All calzones were under $ 10 and beverages were $ 1 for a standard can of pop or $ 2 for a fancy can of pop — we had orange pellegrino I think :-) Gotta love a place that knows exactly what to do — make only a few items but make them the best! And make everything from scratch daily — Battista has a winning combination! Check out my pics!

So i saw this place on top of the Unilocal list, and i love Italian food, so i had to try this place out. The location of this place is fairly far from my house, but the building is very unique. There is not much parking to be found at this restaurant, maybe like 4 cars can fit in their little driveway, otherwise you would have to park in the streets behind it and walk. The inside of the restaurant is of an old fashion with actually nice wooden tables and stool. And i absolutely love the giant open kitchen that they have there. You can watch them make you food, and the best part, is watching your order come straight out of the oven to your table!!! So on my visit there, i ordered the spicy italian sausage. The lady told me it was perfect timing because they just put a batch into the oven. That just got me all excited cause i was going to get my food super fresh and hot. I waited about 5 – 6 minutes playing game on my phone, and i have to say, sitting there, especially when they have an open kitchen makes you super hungry because you can smell the food and it makes your mouth water and tummy growl, but in the end the wait was worth it. The lady was kind enough to bring my food the the table. It smelled so fresh, and it was packed with a lot of ingredients. Each bite you take is a mouthful of flavour and my favourite part, is the stringy long cheese that stretches as long as you can pull it. 5STARS ***** Surely coming back here, and telling everyone i know who eats pizza pops and pizza pockets to stop and get their butts here and get something 10 x better!!!

They specialize in one thing, calzones, because focusing on one thing allows them to excel at that one thing. And excel they do. The calzones are fabulous. Our delightful server, when learning we were vegetarian, suggested we get the Vegetariano calzone with pesto, just a little extra something to give it that special zip. And it was superb, that will be my order every time I return. The calzones were served piping hot with veggies bursting out and ooey-gooey melted cheese bubbling forth. So delicious. The meal was topped off by a Italian sodas. Yum! We will be back. Oh, and did you know that they sell frozen calzones for you to pop in your oven at home? Well, now you do. I will certainly be stocking up.
