If you’re looking for a one stop shop for all of your gardening needs, Apache is the place for you. Last year, we had a plot in our community garden and started so late that we had to buy our veggie plants from Walmart *gasp*. This year, I decided we would start from the ground up and start our plants indoors ahead of time. Armed with a few ideas from Pinterest, I went over to Apache to get the supplies I needed. Thank goodness their employees are knowledgeable and forthcoming with advice on what will and won’t work. After about an hour of my own hemming and hawing over what bounties our garden should produce this year, I left with all I needed to get my little seedlings started. I probably spent the same amount as I did last year when I bought plants that were already started, but I think I will have more variety, and seeds for next year as well. Note to self though… If you want to start your own seeds, don’t wait until April! Go in February! I missed the boat in some plants this year due to my tardiness and inexperience.

Behind a tired and tiny sign with their name on it sits a gem of a gardening store. I don’t know how long they’ve been there, it seems like forever, but it’s full of lush, healthy and some one-of-a-kind plants. I went there for tomatos, and came home with ten of them, plus black edamame seedlings, black Hollyhocks, and white cucumbers. I can’t BELIEVE the selection of tomatos! I might have to dig up more garden space. Staff is friendly and helpful too.

I discovered this store by chance, and already I am recommending it to all my green-thumb friends. Apache Seeds is filled with amazing things for the garden. On sale there are live plants and beautiful pots, bird feeders and garden ornaments, seeds and gardening supplies and tools. The store is easy to browse as everything is neatly organized on the shelves. The store is divided into two sections: the one closest to the entry is reserved for flowers, plants and seeds, while the section closer to the back of the store is for gardening supplies. The selection of pruners, rakes, gardening gloves, shears and many other products that are sure to make gardening experience pleasant is great. One of the shelves is reserved for bird and squirrel food. I didn’t find customer service representatives particularly friendly. Two ladies at the counter ignored my «hello», and continued doing whatever it is they were doing.

Apache Seeds is a must-visit for anyone into gardening or enjoying the natural wildlife that exists in their own backyards. Apache sells all kinds of seeds for flowers and vegetables. It also sells nuts and other kinds of feeds for birds and squirrels. You can also pick up some gardening supplies, and there are even a few gift items such as jewelry at the front desk. The people who work here are very knowledgeable and friends, and have been here for years in most cases. The layout is very bare bones and items are easy to find. I have bought seeds here many times over the years, and have found all kinds of unique gardening ideas.
