I quite like Cantine Daniel. This is an establishment where you eat at a picnic table outside(all have covered rooftops in case of inclement weather) and you order from a small take-out window. The gardens around the picnic tables are really beautiful — Daniel clearly has a way with plants. The food is a combination of traditional cantine(fries, poutine, hot dog, burgers) and chinese-canadian. I haven’t had the chinese — I stick to the burgers and poutine, which are divine. If you are depending on it being open I would call ahead, especially in the off-season. I think the owner/operator lives in the trailer behind and the cantine is only open for some of the year, or else has very limited hours, so you might want to check ahead. This is just a brief two minutes off exit 106 from highway 10 by the way, on the outskirts of Eastman, worth stopping off the highway. And bring your cash — no interac or visa here, just«comptant seulement».
