I went to Awesome nails today. I used to enjoy the service and quality of care and time they took. Again today for the second time they say to pick your colour and sit you with your feet to soak for your pedicure. After 45 minutes my feet were still soaking in now cold water. They warmed my water once. They were busy trying to do other services and take in every walk through that came in the door. After and hour and ten minutes when she was again got called away to do brows. I said I had to leave. They charged me $ 25.00 and told me to come back another day and they would finish. I will never recommend Awesome nails again or go back with any of my family. I live to support my neighbourhood businesses but enough is enough!

They do great nails here! So much colors to choose! Excellent sanitization of spa chairs. And they use disposable files and buffers!

This nail salon is dirty. I’ve had three below average experiences(mani, bikini wax, and shellac mani & pedi) here and I will not be going back. This last trip there was bd. I noticed so much sort and grime around the store, and they were not overly friendly. I am not happy with my shellac nails, even after I let her know there were bubbles in the shellac, she told me ‘this was not a problem’. My nails are not smooth on the edges, and the French manicure is sloppy. My toes look fine, but maybe that’s because I can’t get close enough to look at them. My wax job was done in a half done manner. I came home and plucked and shaved after. I’ve been a repeat customer(only three times in 5 years) because of the proximity/connivence factor, but I will not be retuning.

Finally got to come in and use a gift certificate I got a while back. I was living as a Sasquatch for almost 2 weeks.(technically I was waiting for my leg hair to grow long enough to get waxed. It was not easy living in pants in the August heat.) So I made an appointment for late in the day as the kiddies are still out of school and I needed someone to watch them. When I came in everyone was very friendly. It was the standard set up of a wall of pedicure chairs and a few tables for mani’s. I liked that the place had no scent. Other nail salons I have gone to stank of chemicals. I was getting a pedicure and a leg waxing and they decided to do the pedicure first. They upsold me to a Nu-Pedi which was $ 35. It included the standard soaking and buffing but also included using the Nu line of products. First was an herbal soak added to the water. Next was an herbal scrub which they scrubbed my feet and, badly in a need of waxing, lower calves. This was followed by an icing gel to the foot and calf and a heating lotion to the bottom of the foot. Last was some sort of polishing thing for the legs. She then applied my bright orange polish and I was ready for some pain. I went to a little room in the back where they can’t hear you scream as they rip all the hairs form your body. Actually the lady there was quite nice and quick. Before I knew it I was ready to go as she swiftly made my legs look more womanly again. It was one of the better and faster waxing experiences I have had. The half leg was only $ 20. Overall I was quite happy. I would recommend bringing a friend if you’re getting a pedi as the ladies talk to each other in some other language. I do like to try to guess what they are saying but other than English I don’t speak any other languages. I also want to say I was very happy with their hygiene. Disposable items were used, garbage was emptied often and all other items were properly cleaned. I will def be back and will be bringing a friend or two.
