Kinda Lovely little place. Baked goods and tea… Strange little in house law’s… No cell phones? Keep your children under control? And I loved the different price for a scone if your going to eat it at one of their tables… I’d pass on this place… There’s a bunch of other great places around…

Great spot to enjoy some tea and scones true British style! A cute and quaint spot in Surrey. I had a delicious bowl of pea soup and a friend loved the blueberry scone.

Great little gem in Delta. Quaint teahouse witha good selection of teas and treats. I had plain scones with homemade raspberry jam and cream. It was delicious. I recommend a visit with a group of friends for a fun visit.

My parents came to Canada from England. I’ve been trying to find a place to take my mom for high tea, but the quest was unsuccessful– even the Empress Hotel didn’t meet the expectations– until now. This restaurant is like walking out of a Canadian parking lot and entering a small British café hidden away in some small town in England. I’m disappointed that, when looking out the window, I still see the Canadian parking lot. We started with tea. My wife and I are partial to Earl Grey, but we had a cream earl grey instead. It was excellent. The lunch that I had was a mushroom and chicken crêpe, with a salad. My wife tried the mini-afternoon tea. Stunning is the word. Wow. If you want the afternoon tea experience with the waiter in tuxedos and porting white gloves, then you aren’t going to be happy here. However, and this is an important however, get over it. The food is stunning. The bites from the afternoon tea made my wife remember her trip to England with the glazed eyes and whist-full and distant look. The food is amazing. I’ve said it already but it needs to be repeated. The tea is amazing. Food good. Server was delightful and friendly. Easy to talk to and happy to help. Wow. Why are you still reading this? Get out of the chair and into a car. Get over here. You won’t be sorry.

Great place for a cuppa tea and scone with devonshire cream and homemade jam. A touch expensive though… One thing I’m a little disappointed with… I bought a frozen pie and it cost me $ 12 but if I bought a freshly baked pie that was in the display, it also cost $ 12. It used to be cheaper to buy a frozen pie since the purchaser/customer has to bake it themselves. Not sure why this was changed! It doesn’t make sense!

This is a cute little tea room that looks like a grandma’s kitchen. Kitchy wallpaper and mismatched chairs, even a table made from a sewing machine cabinet! Love the décor and the wide selection of teas. The scones and the desserts are delicious, but what’s odd is that they serve whipped cream with the scones(nothing like clotted cream at all) Am I the only one that noticed this? I don’t think I’ve ever had the high tea, but we’ve been quite a few times with my sisters, mom and friends for lunch. If you’re watching what you eat, you’ll appreciate the very small portions– overpriced for what you get though! It’s perfect for taking my elderly mom because she eats like a bird, but I think the prices should reflect the small portion sizes. It’s a nice change from the chain restaurants in the area. Perfect for an afternoon pick me up. I recommend tea and dessert rather than going for a meal.

I love this place. Tea shop, café, bakery and fudge shop all in one. The café is a great place for lunch and has an amazing variety of(mostly black) tea(try the queen mary!) Everything on the menu is made in the store and is therefore a little pricey but I have had a few savory items and a lot of the sweet items and enjoyed every single thing. Tea is served in miss-matched china and the sugar is coloured(heart!) The store is packed full of treasures and yet doesnt seem crowded.

I went here every Monday with my mother for years. I never had the high tea, but I never felt the need to. Though it is available, I just got tea and a desert. Their tea selection is huge, but it is mostly black teas. Green and rooibos are few and far between. More British than Asian in that regards. That being said, the black teas are astounding. From Pear plum, to Earl Grey cream. You can even buy some tea to bring home if you like it. Sugar is available(as well as honey, if requested.) They also offer milk, but I don’t think they offer any alternative. Their food is basically all made right there, from deserts to soups, to take home fudge. It all tastes superb, but being made right there has made the main entries a little pricey. Make sure to try the grilled cheese focaccia, and the super light scones with the works. The devonshire cream is addictive. The tea room gift shop takes after Applewood’s slogan«just like grandma’s.» The items are very 50’s inspired, with a few things from different eras. Mostly kitchen, some children, all very unique but a tad pricey. If you want to take your kids along, there are drinks and food that the little ones would like — even a dress dress up section with gloves and hats.

Applewood Country Gifts and Tea House is a small establishment with big heart! The gift shop area is lovely… how do they fit so much merchandise in there? But it’s not chaotic, overflowing or hard to sift through. The items are sweet, of good quality and range from baby things to handmade jewelry to cotton lace nighties(and, of course, tea-related things galore). The real fun is the tea house, though. I had high tea with my sister, mom and niece. We were each served our choice of tea(there were so many I wanted to try… I went with the Earl Grey Cream. Delish!), and had 3 courses of food: savories, scones, and dainties. Tiny egg sandwiches, mushroom rolls, salmon puffs and cucumber croissants started us off. Then, onto the scones, which came with devonshire cream, raspberry jam and lemon curd on the side. Then the sweets to finish off. There’s a bakery section so you can take home your favourite treats. They also have a kid’s menu for high tea. High tea isn’t the only option. You can also drop in for tea and sweets, but if high tea is your goal, you must make reservations! We had a great time and left full(we actually had to have some of the sweets packed to go, because we just couldn’t finish them all). The staff were friendly and the environment is casual. There are even hats and gloves for little girls to wear during tea, if they so wish.
