Good food but agonizingly slow. They give you 50 percent off a wok box(any size) Sunday-Wednesday with a Unilocal check in. However, be prepared to give your first born. Staff are frequently confused with this offer, and ask for an obtuse amount of information. Most of their food comes from shrink wrapped plastic, so I am unsure if this is how it is portioned, or delivered from a distribution center. I asked for additional Kim Chi and it was $ 1 extra for a tablespoon. I like how they clean and separate the dishes for you when you are done. A busy spot which is usually full, grab a Tiger Beer with your box. Very clean, parking can be a chore, park in ToysRUs.

I really like their food. When I can get it. It should not say they offer delivery as it is never available and when it is it takes upwards of 1.5 hrs to receive. It’s really too bad because they make a good butter chicken and a good butter chicken naan sandwich. Went to thai express for my fix today.

Worst thai food I have ever had! Don’t be fooled by the inviting layer of fresh bean sprouts and green onions the chicken is the cardboard processed kind and the sauce doesn’t taste like anything. I’m pretty sure that it was dumped out of a package and reheated in the microwave there clearly is no wok at the wok box.

I first saw this restaurant in a flyer delivered to my house. My experience started off smoothly with an online order through«just eat». The staff called me to confirm the order and everything seemed good. My estimated delivery time was 2:05. It did not arrive until 2:55, fifty minutes late. Delivery driver was polite. The food was mildly warm. For $ 38 not inlcluding tip(with tip it was $ 45), I ordered: 1 Cheesy Kimchi Fire Balls(4.99) 1 Green Onion Cakes(3.99) 1 Potstickers(4.99) 1 Wor Wonton Soup(8.49) 1 Diet Pepsi(2.29) 1 Indian Butter Chicken with Naan and Rice, lunch sized(6.99) 1 Breaded Crispy Chicken with Orange Sauce and Rice(9.99) — The Kimchi fire balls I didn’t like, but I didn’t like kimchi to begin with(what was I thinking?), so they get a free pass. My partner didn’t like them either. — The green onion cakes were okay. Just tasted like deep fried bread. Edible, but nothing special. — Potstickers were edible, but tasted a bit stale. — Wor Wonton soup was gross. It tasted like it was 90% oil. — Indian butter chicken was about the same grade of chicken as a subway sandwich, the really processed type of strips. Out of the two main plates I ordered, I preferred this even though it was a bit bland, but I had to make my own rice. The rice had a plastic flavor to it and wasn’t edible at all for me. The naan was normal, but I only got two tiny slices, about half a mini naan. — Orange chicken was average, pretty normal for fast-food breaded chicken. It was edible, but not great. The rice, once again, I had to chuck due to the plastic taste. Overall, I was pretty turned off and I probably wouldn’t eat here again. There are better options for the price, though it is hard to find good Asian food delivery in Dartmouth without paying a fortune. Final Stats Quality: 2/5, poor, fast-food quality, had to throw rice out. Delivery Speed: 2/5, 50 minutes late, no longer piping hot, some items seemed unfresh. Price: 3/5, a bit pricey for fast-food quality cuisine. I gave them an extra star because I wasn’t charged for delivery and given 20% off for spending over $ 40(eight dollars and thirty-five cents in savings).

Honestly this was the most disappointing meals I’ve had in a long time. I tried the new pork buns — AVOID they were so sour from the vinegar they used it hurt the mouth. Everything was sloppy and lackluster. My vegetables were burned and the noodles just barely warm. It was an expensive meal — the pork buns and regular noodle dish were $ 20(no drink). I can’t help but feel overwhelmed with regret.

I had some kind of curry noodle and my husband had a dish that was suppose to be extremely hot. Both we’re lack luster. Boring and bland. Would not suggest again.

The McDonalds of asian cuisine. Lacks flavour, they are scant with vegetables/meat in your meal. Avoid at all costs, go to Baan Thai or 9+Nine or somewhere with actual food worth money.

I can’t remember the last time I had a meal this bad. Not only was the food horrible, but the restaurant was in disgusting shape with dirty plates on every table as well as scattered all around the overfilled garbage.

My girlfriend and I went to Wok Box for a meal last week, on Tuesday November 4, 2014. I ordered the Indian Curry Dish with Nann bread and I ordered Sweet and Sour Chicken for my girlfriend and the total amount came to $ 27.78. When I asked for the Indian Curry with Nann bread the cashier said something about Nann bread which was something a little different than what I had ordered. Because I had not been to WokBox very much in the past I said, «Yes». When I finished paying for the evening meal I confirmed that I wanted the Indian Curry for 10.99. I was told that I should have asked for the Indian Curry and not said, «With Nann» What happened was they charged me for a meal that was half the price of the meal I wanted. After I realized a mistake was made, I offered to pay for the difference and have the 10.99 Indian Curry Dinner. They said, «No, that’s alright.» When the meals were given to us, I noticed that my girlfriend had a large bowl with her meal, while my meal was in a very small bowl. I presume it was a lunch serving portion, but it was after lunch and because they said it was ‘alright’ AFTER I said I would pay the difference, I thought they were going to give me the dinner meal. After I had eaten the meal, I asked the cashier if the bowl I showed him was the dinner size, and he told me, «no». I don’t know why the staff did this with me. All I asked for was the dinner size for 10.99 and was willing to pay the difference. I thought it was kind of sneaky to give me the smaller bowl and say nothing to me. I didn’t like that they did this to me and I don’t recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially if you ask for the correct meal«Indian Curry with Nann bread» and the cashier makes a mistake which I am willing to correct and told, «If you order the meal again, don’t say with ‘Nann Bread’ and then give you a smaller serving. ??? I don’t get it.

I’ve given Wok Box a few honest chances to impress me. Every time a failure. Overcooked mushy noodles. Salty Salty Salty but in a preservativey kind of way. Not to my liking. The staff don’t seem too knowledgeable anytime I’ve asked them about the products, which I completely blame on the company, not on them. It makes me wonder if maybe the franchise owner is lazy or uninvolved, if the manager isn’t doing their job properly to train staff or if the company training documents are just crap. In any case. I’m never going again. If I want food of this quality, I’ll go by the dollar store’s frozen meal section and try to find an expired tv dinner. I understand that its a relatively successful chain, so maybe I would give it a shot in a different city as I suspect staff training in might be an issue affecting the food and service quality.

It was a classic situation for me and Don — a Groupon for a place we’d never tried. We were quite pleased with our adventure. Pros: — Attractive décor. — Friendly employees. — Quick dine-in service — no more than 5 – 6 minutes until our orders were ready. — Healthy portions in big bowls, with a variety of utensils and sauces to accompany our meals. — I had the Hong Kong Spice noodle box and Don had the Canto-Buda; both were hot, fresh, and just a tad spicy. Keep in mind that I’m rather immune to spice. — They offer a Dinner and a Movie combo that we just might take advantage of in the future. Cons: — I can see how eating here can become costly — drinks and sides in particular are not cheap. I’ve now acquired another Groupon for Wok Box, and I have no doubt that our next experience will be just as delicious.

Visited for the first time today on my lunch break from work. I am very impressed at the amount of vegan options available and most are listed on the companies website. They even have a vegan statement right by the cash register. I tried tofu teriyaki and it was extremely delicious. Very flavorful and filling.

I never thought I would go back here after the last time I went and their wonton soup tasted like dish soap but my faith is renewed with their butter chicken as it leaves me wanting more.

Having a small window of time in which to grab dinner before heading to an appointment we chose Wok Box as it was the fast and closest to our destination. I had been a couple times at lunch when it first opened. Parking nearby isn’t always available when you come during the day but this evening it was plentiful. The gal at the cash was friendly and helpful with suggestions. I ordered Kung Pao Shrimp my dinner companion had the Kung Pao Chicken, we both upsized to a combo that included a drink and 2 small spring rolls. That came to $ 15.99 each. A little on the pricey side for fast food but I did have enough for lunch the next day so there was plenty. Was it authentic? Don’t know, but it was hot, fresh and tasty, though not near as tasty as ChaBaa Thai, could have been a little bit spicier. Maybe next time we’ll see if we can get in and out of ChaBaa Thai in enough time.

This spot is within walking distance from my office, so I’m usually in once a month or so for some take out. While it’s not the best Asian food ever, you get a good portion for your money and there is lots of variety. It’s also in my opinion one the best tasting spots for fast food in the Crossing. I like that they offer 4 noodle types and rice as options, almost all the dishes can me made with shrimp, chicken, pork, beef or vegetarian. Something to please everyone. The downsides to this place is that the restaurant is often busy during peak times, and because the dishes are wok’ed to order, service can be a bit slow. Also I would never eat in during peak times because the line to order snakes through the place making it feel a bit too busy and claustrophobic for my taste.

One night over Christmas my fiancé and I were out shopping, and needed to eat. We were in a bit of a rush, so went to wok box because we wanted healthy but quick. I had never been here before and I have to say for a fast food place I was impressed. The service was prompt, polite and even though it was busy we did not have to wait long for our meals. The flavours were good, well seasoned. The vegetables in both dishes were not over cooked, so that was a nice surprise. I must say though, the price was a bit much. It was 30 $, and that was only two meals, one drink and crappy spring rolls. I think this restaurants would be much better served as a sit down restaurant, not a fast food joint.

Wok Box… of garbage. A new record. Time in stomach, 23minutes. I was not able to keep this down. On what planet is this pile of garbage considered food? I spent $ 30 on a couple of main dishes and an egg roll, I was hungry and wanted some variety. The woman at the counter had that ‘Maritime Hospitality’ you sometimes get. Standing dead eyed with a hint of inconvenience about her. Buttered chicken? Strips of meat, that looked like pre-chewed beef and tasted anything but chicken. Sauce was cold. Rice was cold. I think they figured as long as the meat was heated everything else would be fine. Pad Tai veggies with shrimp? Well if you call a handful of raw green onions diced to the size of pencil erasers stir fry, then bravo. The noodles were the most disgusting thing about the meal. Grey mass of wet overcooked shit. I did enjoy the four tiny shrimp I could dig out of the limp of brain matter of noodles. Eggroll? Burnt. Overcooked. Tasteless. A cup of sauce was provided. There was barely a coin thinness of sauce in it. No matter, the egg roll was so dry and stiff it couldn’t be dipped as it wouldn’t bend enough to fit into the cup. I had no expectations going in. Good thing. Please for all that is good and fresh and well prepared in this world, DONOT visit this Crap in the Box. I really want to love a restaurant one of these days. Where my Pepto?

Although I never seem to enjoy Wok Box quite as much as I hope I will, somehow I keep going back. As an alternative to the traditional fast food offering of burgers and fries, a stir fry place is ideal: fast, simple and filling, with a tasty mix of meat or tofu, veggies and noodles or rice. In that respect, Wok Box delivers, with a nice cross-section of Asian favourites from Chinese to Indian, and everything in between. While that’s a pretty broad geographic and culinary area to cover, they do a decent job. As far as fast food options go, its one of the better ones around, and probably the best option for a fast meal to go in Dartmouth Crossing. What I don’t like about the Wok Box is that some of the dishes are a bit bland, and the spicy ones aren’t that spicy … don’t be afraid to add some flavour to your food, and if you advertise something as hot, then bring the heat! It is also a bit on the expensive side for what you are getting: you can easily drop $ 30 – 40 on dinner for two, which is starting to get into the realm of what I’d expect to pay for a simple sit-down meal. At the end of the day, the Wok Box is still my destination of choice when I’m at Dartmouth Crossing, or to pick up a quick bite to eat when heading out of town. I just wish it was a slightly more flavorful and less wallet-lightening experience.

My personal Wok Box philosophy is this: it’s a fast food version of Asian cuisine. Don’t come here ordering a red curry for example, and then proceed to compare it against authentic Thai food. Apples and oranges. Wok Box is lower on the scale, smack dab between Manchu Wok and Chabaa Thai. I have a bit of an addiction to the almond chicken and steamed rice combo. Sooo good. So good in fact, I rarely order anything else. It’s spicy and delicious and evil. I usually pass on the egg roll. Their egg rolls remind me of Manchu Wok, and besides… my almond chicken and steamed rice are way more than enough. Service is usually good. I’ve only eaten in once — I almost always get takeout. My combo is supposed to be served in one large container, but I prefer to have a separate container for my rice and the staff have never taken issue with this request. Also, I’m a sucker for the Chinese takeout containers. It has always bugged me that the Chinese restaurants in HRM don’t use them. This place is great — for what it is.
