Go there if you want to be verbally abused by the waitresses. It was a miserable evening. Otherwise, food is good, prices are good, atmosphere aka customers are nice. The story: ordered $ 40 worth of drinks, $ 37 worth of regular priced food and 40 of wings for 4 of us. She yelled at us because the designated driver only wants water and that the restaurant needs to make money. No only did she yell at us, but it was throughout the evening and was not friendly until it was time to pay. Hmmmm, the other table ordered 4 bottles of beer and 160 wings at 30 cents, In terms of profit margins, there’s profit to be made with our bill but minimal, if any, with the table that ordered 160 wings. My friend is a regular there and sometime spend upwards of $ 200+ I would prefer to give it one star because the attitude is so BAD!!! However, I would give credit to the 3 other regular waitresses who are gems. They are super nice, friendly and even when they have to ID you, or tell you the rules, they are still super friendly about it. I just hope they don’t pool their tips with the cranky ones because that would be so unfair. The really nice ones at this pub, we always tip 20% plus. My group of friends are not yahoos but are quiet, maintenance free & on the older side.

Great affordable menu. Delicious wings. A nice assortment of beer on tap. Staff were friendly and attentive. I’d come here way more often if I lived closer. It would even be worth renting for fundraisers or private parties as there is a side area large enough for a decent turn out. When I pulled up to the lot it seemed PACKED. But the place is big enough to fit three times as many people, easily

We came here last Saturday for the UFC fight, and it was busy, even though things were just getting going. We wandered around, looking desperately for a table that didn’t exist. Suddenly, our hero arrived, grabbing a spare table from outside and seating us in the corner with an excellent view of one of the main screens. Think we got the last table in the place! Thanks, Richard, you made our night! And the won ton soup? Awesome!

I have called twice to try and get information on the football pool here and I got the same awful girl both times.(Today’s call was 2:00pm Monday August 31st, 2015) Not only was this woman incredibly rude, but she could care less about being so. She told me that it is «to bad that I am not able to get down to the pub to read the table cards with the pool information and there was nothing she could do about it» She informed me that she«isn’t allowed to tell me anything over the phone because of gaming laws» I find this a bit strange as every other establishment in the area had absolutely no issue with this and was very friendly and helpful. We have eaten here a few times and haven’t had the best service. If this is the type of people they have I can see why now. We will definitely NOT be heading here anytime in the near future. Good Luck to those who do.

The food here is always good and the service is usually great as well. On our most recent visit, we entered and sat where we liked. Within minutes a server came to bring us a menu and take our drink orders. The food was really good and very reasonably priced. We left very satisfied and full. The service was exceptional. Our server was attentive, checked up on us, and made sure we had everything we needed. She was friendly, polite and very efficient. It’s nice to get such reasonably priced great food and exceptional service at the same establishment. We will definitely be coming here more often. Hopefully we’ll get the same great server we had on this visit since she really knows how to look after the customers.

Been a few times now. Food is good and the prices are great. Brittany has been our waitress and she is fabulous.

This place is not bad for pub food. Considering the prices are very reasonable you’re not going to be getting the highest quality foods. To be honest I was impressed with the food there. For the price I find it pretty darn flavorful. The drinks are cheap too. ½ L of wine for 13 $ which is unheard of in Vancouver. Overall I was impressed with their prices for the food and drinks. For that I’m giving it 2 stars. The reason I am giving 2⁄5 is the service was HORRIBLE. It took our waitress nearly 10 mins to provide us with menus. She proceeded to take another 15 to take our orders. She took nearly 15 minutes to pour a few beers and wine for us. When she came with our drink orders she forgot a few of our orders and had to go back and get them. Then she spent most of her time socializing with her friends who were eating there. Honestly the service was horrible. I was so unimpressed. If they hire some better waitresses or at least train them properly maybe I’ll consider going back!

I need wings… Like I don’t just love wings, I need them. I was watching a Gordon Ramsay Christmas special where his son said he eats fifty wings a year. Pfft, amateur. I think last Christmas we had wings five weeks in a row. No, it’s not good for you, but live a little. The last time we came here was the best visit by far. Rather than just the sad duo of D and me, there was a better size group of us. We come on Tuesdays. There is no hostess to greet you at the door. You seat yourselves. Normally, there is an abundance of seats to choose from. My husband never partakes in the wings. He always gets his own meal. He chooses a burger or a wrap or a pizza. Once he had the Halibut Bites. Those were good. D and me usually share a poutine and thirty to forty wings depending, and a coke and water. You have to order a drink to get the $.30 wings. Didn’t know that… always just ordered a pop anyhow… and there’s a refill charge. Didn’t know that either until our server told us this time. We had to check our previous bills… oh, there it is. They used to have a bigger selection of poutine… like five or six. Now there are two. I think it’s good… but not really poutine. They use shredded cheese rather than cheese curds, so I would have just called them cheesy gravy fries, but whateves. Uh, to me, it’s also kind of salty. But that could just be me because I don’t really cook with that much salt… no one else seems to complain. I’ll just drink more pop. The potato skins are okay. They seemed a little overdone and too crispy. I stole the roasted garlic off my hubby’s pizza to smear it on them. Okay, so back to our more recent visit. Because there were more of us, we ordered more wings. We don’t toss them, someone on Instagram called us out on it. There is a $.50 extra charge to toss it. My reasoning… I just like to dip. We got Buffalo, Honey Hot, Whisky BBQ, Teriyaki, Hot and Lemon Pepper… I really like Honey Hot and Whisky BBQ. You can’t go wrong with any of their sauces. We don’t ever run out of dip either. To round off our meal, we ordered the artichoke dip. It comes with veggies(boooooo…), pita and tortilla chips. Chips all the way! The dip was really good… really cheesy and I think spinachy… I try to block out veggies. I might even prefer this to the usual poutine. Bar is bar… We’ve come here on a busy football night… I think they have a trivia game on Tuesday(It could be all the nights, I don’t know). We tried to play without the consoles. We did okay when we were paying attention. Best wing place for us… even if we do have to drive a ways to get here.

BTW the DUI charge was tossed out. And their drink menu does not include taxes in the prices… effectively making them more expensive than other pubs in the area with draft served from skanky beer lines. And the last band I saw there was using a DRUMMACHINE purloined from the 80’s.

Short and to the point, worst service I have ever had, the waitress was unfriendly and frankly she was either very stupid or very ignorant not sure which. Food was bland and ambience was for the mouth breathing biker types. Too bad the owners don’t seem to give a damn how their customers get treated as long as they make a buck. So, last night, we got a new waitress. She seemed infinitely better than the last few they’ve had. I happened to be a klutz and dumped my drink all over myself and chicken wings. I went to the washroom to clean myself up and when I got back, she had already gotten me a replacement drink and wings without me even saying anything. These are simple things, as is coming around periodically and asking if everything is ok. When you make the customer feel welcome and not burdensome, that’s how you earn superior tips. Our excellent service helped ease the pain of the Canucks losing 9 – 1 to Anaheim. :)

Came here for some 25c wings goodness. This is available Monday to Thursday all day, and 1400 – 1800 on Friday to Sunday. The catch is that you have to buy a drink, but chances are you would’ve ordered one anyways. Parking is plentiful in the large lot in the back. The seating area is pretty huge, so this place can take pretty large groups. There are plenty of TVs all over the place, though they’re not the largest. Staff were friendly, and the service was decent but average. The margarita I had was actually not bad at all — the tequila wasn’t overwhelming, and it was nice that they used rock salt instead of the table variety some other places use. As for the wings? Blue cheese — pretty good. Nice to have just so you can mix things up with the other flavours. Thai chili — a bit too sweet, but not bad. Honey mustard — I really didn’t like this one for some reason, though my buddy was all over it. It tastes like the McDonald’s honey mustard in my books. Honey garlic — decent, but average. I also took a quick look at the menu — food here is a bit pricier at $ 10 – 13 for many dishes. In other words, it seems like the wings are a good deal here. With that said, I’d definitely be back.

The summary of this review is as follows: Good food, nice décor, terrible service. I frequent this pub more often then I should, as it is also the gathering place for my group during the week. The place looks rather nice. They have taken the time to put in decent furniture and it is fairy clean. Seats are comfortable and plenty. I have never had to wait or search for a place to sit. Their wings are their specialty, and they certainly hit the spot. I have also had their nachos, and they give you a pretty decent helping with salsa and sour cream. I have observed my friends order more from the menu, and I have never heard them complain once. Given how busy this place gets, they are pretty quick with the food. Their drinks are the usual fair. Nothing really special to report there. I occasionally get a long island ice-tea, which went from being a medium sized glass a year ago, to the small glass, as well as the price increased. My issue with the establishment is the waitresses. They have changed over so many times that when I went back there recently after being away because of work, I did not recognize a single person. My recent venture there was a prime example of the typical customer service I experience there. My friends ordered their food and beer, and when the waitress came up to get our order, she acted annoyed because we ordered some wings and two cokes. It was like we were wasting her time because we did not order alcohol. She glared at us, turned in a huff and left. I told my fiancé to never mind, maybe she was just swamped. She brought the drinks over, and left. When the food arrived, she placed it in front of us. My fiancé had finished his drink by then, and asked for a refill. She gave another glare, and left. We waited for close to 20 minutes, and no coke. I took my fiancé’s drink and brought it to the bar, where she was standing, and asked the bar tender to fill it up. I don’t even think she recognized me. He filled up the glass, and charged me a dollar for the refill. Oh well, I paid. Within 5 minutes of me returning, she brought the coke we had originally been waiting for. She gave me a look, and left. When we grabbed the bill later on, she charged us 2 drinks instead of one. By then, we did not have the energy to fight it and just paid anyway. Moral of the story? They charge for everything now(including refills), and if you are not ordering a drink, be aware that the waitresses will be less than friendly.

When I lived in the hood I used to come here a lot for their meals. They weren’t gourmet, however, they hit the spot which was important. Service was always hit or miss with me, however, the more I went the friendlier they were ’cause I was a «regular.» Prices were decent for what they were. Their wing night is where it’s at. I had an obsession at the time for their wings.

To be fair, I think I just happened to be here on a bad day. They had two girls running the entire floor, which in turn was terrible service. I have to give props to our waitress though, it was entirely not her fault. The wings were very good, especially at the price they were offering them. Then I got the ribs, which was a bit dry but the portion was huge. The mash potatoes that came with it were cold and rather disgusting. I can’t tell if that’s just how they cook their food(ie poorly) or simply because it sat in the kitchen for 15 min before the waitress even had the time to bring it out. Probably won’t eat here again… With exception to the wings. TIP: there’s also a smoking area inside the pub. So if you’re very sensitive to cigarette smoke, I would not recommend this place.

It’s been over two years since my last(and only) visit to Woody’s… on Brunette(okay — that’s a euphemism for *something*)… but I’m gonna review it anyways — solely for the chuckle I get everytime I drive by Maillardville. It was late 2009. And I had just lost the best job I’ve had(at the time) along with the rest of the office. A few days later, I called up some select former-coworkers and ended up in the area — beer and chicken wings at noon seemed like the best thing to do for three jobless schlubs. So we’re getting drunk and eating some shitty chicken wings — conversations bouncing between hard laughs trading war stories and toasting to ‘Fuck [company name redacted]!’ and heavy sighs as we stood at the edge of eternity: «WHATAREWEGOINGTODOFORJOBSNOW? WE’REFUCKED!» Beer and chicken wings stains mounted up on our tee pajamas-come-street-clothes. There were no more aged-like-fine-wine sexy administrative ladies drapped in power suits and bright eyed interns to seduce — we were no longer the captains of industry, the leader of men or the office mavens we once were. There were no more brunettes to put our ‘woody’s’. The triumvirate were now powerless. Toasting Cristal to ‘making money’ replaced by slapping beer mugs to heartless murmurs of feigned optimism. If I owned velvet sweatpants, I would have worn them. Oh how the mighty have fallen. After a few pitchers and round of wings — the waiter approached us and dropped the bill at our table without being prompted. Waiter: «Here’s your bill — you three gentlemen probably have to be somewhere by now.» [no hint of sarcasm] Us: [blank stares exchanged between the three of us] Us: … Us: [ERUPTIN A CACOPHONYOFRAUCOUSLAUGHTER] We semi-cried into our beer mugs for the next 3 hours — trying to delay the inevitable depression. We stumbled out drunk and went down to a government office to apply for unemployement insurance. If we dropped acid, we would have been a close approximation to the«Make Some Noise» music video. Now that all three of us are gainfully employed now — we can joke about that outing. I’m just not sure if the three of us should return for a legit ‘power lunch’ as we’re returned to form — or wait until the three of us no longer have purpose in life. Thank you Woody’s for kicking us while we were down.

I’ve been twice to Woody’s. Both times for Euchre(a card game) meetup. The food is hit and miss and I’d say the same for the wait staff. This place DEFINITELY is the wrong place to go to try to converse so card playing was interesting to say the least. Music both times I’ve gone a bit too loud even for most PUB conversation(it IS a pub after all). At a designated time a live DJ starts spinning his musical web although both times he started with the same three first songs(canned music for a live DJ?) Is that the Pee-Track?(Gotta go so put something canned on so there’s time to setup?) BACKTOFOOD: The first time I had a ‘sirloin sandwich’ which the best part honestly was the mashed potatoes(doesn’t say much does it?). The second time and most recent to this posting I enjoyed the early lunch special(which ended at 3pm and I was there just before 6:30pm) — Specifically it was the soup and sandwich which I was amazed was still available even after the stated time(they WERE still giving out the specials laminated sheet in the time AFTER they were available!!!) and even more than pleasantly pleased when the soup of the day(evening) was beef barley and that yes they could change the BLT to grilled cheese(my recent molar extraction means softer foods for me sadly). Sigh.
