Excellent food and service. Much better than the Mandarin in Toronto. Look forward to returning next time I am in Collingwood.

Food is average here. If you’re from the city and expecting a Mandarin quality buffet, I suggest you just wait until you’re back in Toronto for that. There is a decent amount of selection of food here, but there’s honestly nothing special. It’s fairly cheap, which got our group of 4 to come here, and probably the only Chinese buffet within the Collingwood/Blue Mountain area. My boyfriend seemed pretty happy that they served brunch food as well. Other than that, to me, it was(like I said), an average Chinese buffet.

OMG! This is the worst food I ever ate. From uncooked rice to food that tastes like it was reheated. Stay away from this place!!!

Everything was VERY good. From the look of the place outside I wasn’t expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. The saying never judge a book by its cover applies here. The sushi they serve is wonderful. The main dishes are tasty. I wasn’t to fond of the desserts but that’s just my personal taste. There is a large selection of desserts. Everything is fresh.

Was home over the christmas break and this was a newer place, we ordered a delivery. The fried rice was okay but extremely greasy/salty and not much taste otherwise, the same went for a beef dish we got(and the beef was pretty terrible quality). The sweet and sour pork came dry and with the sauce to pour on, which didn’t matter because the meat and dish were so flavourless and fatty that we decided to just throw the whole thing away. The only redeeming dish was a chicken and vegetable(chop suey I think?) dish that was okay, but I would never order delivery again from this place. Maybe the buffet is better though

Was camping for the weekend at Craigleith Provincial Park and was on our way home and decided to find a random new restaurant to try for lunch. Came across Crystal Buffet and we were very surprised and happy with our selection! From the outside, this restaurant looks a little run down, but once you get inside it looks so fancy! Much fancier than mandarin! The lunch buffet is only $ 13.99 which is an awesome price. The selection was pretty decent with a huge salad bar and dessert table. My only complaint about the food is there could have been a bigger selection as all of the main course types were typical buffet style. Overall we had a great visit, great food, great atmosphere, very nice.

Went there for lunch. It was quiet and the food was all freshly prepared. Certainly better than the absurd rip-offs up at Collingwood Village. Nothing spectacular [obviously], but the wings were good as were the ribs and even some of the noodle dishes. The beef in black bean sauce was as good as anything I’ve had outside of Toronto’s Chinatown. The staff was attentive and the overall experience was good [although I didn’t have the treat of finding«a pensioner in the urinal next to me», unlike the other poster here, John N.]

$ 23.99 Adults and half price for kids. Good Chinese buffet with great crab legs. Lobster were definitely overcooked. Other options are standard Chinese buffet food. The high rating is because we did not expect the variety and decent quality in cottage country. A definite good option for those seeking a Chinese buffet style restaurant while they are up enjoying Blue Mountains. But please remember everyone, Chinese buffet is really not Chinese food.

Let me start by saying that if you want mountains of food for not much this is the place for you. However, for the most part the buffet is filled with incredibly greasy, lower than average Chinese food that paying any amount is really not worth it. My kids love it but their ratings lean toward quantity and speed with quality being rated as only whether it makes them sick or not. A pensioner in the washroom in the urinal next to mine pointed out how great the value was, «How do they do it, all this food for $ 12???’ I politely smiled but thought that value is a combination of quality and cost where as I think they focus on the cost but not so much the quality. That being said, it seems clean, the service is brisk and friendly and the room is bright. My kids can’t wait to go again but my wife and I swore that we would rather die young before going back so if they get their wish they could be going as orphans.

Last winter, we drove through Collingwood looking for a late dinner spot after spending the day snowboarding at Blue Mountain. We noticed Crystal Buffet but unfortunately, they were about to close. This winter, we decided to try it one Friday night during our snowboarding trip, and we were thoroughly surprised. We were expecting chicken balls, sweet and sour pork, chow mein and other typical Chinese take-out foods in buffet trays, but instead, Crystal Buffet is a lot more like Mandarin Buffet. Perhaps it was busier before we walked in at 9:00PM, but it was quite empty when we got there, yet the food trays were still being re-filled. The price is pretty much the same as Mandarin, too. I walked into the main dishes first, totally disregarding the salad bar. Prime rib, steamed crab legs, steamed lobster tails, and baked lobster tails with cheese were the first few items I noticed. The lobster tails were slightly overcooked, but otherwise, they were pretty decent.(I noticed someone piling his plate again and again with only steamed crab legs!) It has been a couple weeks and I was really hungry that night, so I can’t remember everything I ate, but I remember their fried chicken wings, chicken skewers and stir-fried vegetables were good. There were many hot dishes to choose from, plus plain white and fried rice, and a few noodle choices. There were even more choices at the salad bar. The fruit and dessert stations were quite extensive, too. They even had green tea ice cream and waffle bowls. There was a variety of pastries and a fridge filled with different cakes and pies. The staff were friendly, and they always came by to re-fill our drinks and to take our finished plates away. The restaurant seemed fairly clean and tidy, and overall, very welcoming. For Collingwood, I think this is a pretty good restaurant if you’re looking for a lunch or dinner spot other than the typical chain restaurants in the area. You’ll definitely enjoy it after a long day on the slopes!
