When we arrived the host greeted us then said«one min» and walked away, after 10mins we were then seated. When we were seated, it took another 15−20mins for the server to greet us. He was in a very rushy attitude, there were only 4 – 5 tables when we arrived. He kept on excusing himself when we were ordering over $ 150 worth of food. Very poor attitude. Table next to us had their lobster bib put on for them, as for us, it was just thrown on the table along with utensils and the tin garbage bucket. Food took very long to come. I am Chinese, visiting PEI with some friends here to have a good meal but I guess the server’s not so friendly to outsiders or Asians. Place looks good though. Prices are kind of UNFAIR.($ 10.89/Lb live, $ 32.99/lb for cooked.) Food review: Lobster Bisque — not as creamy as I expected comparing to other places. Seafood chowder — pretty good. Soup of the day(Pulled pork soup) — cold got reheated, tasted watered down but extra salty. Malpeaque — oysters ½ dozen small $ 16.99. Small and not fresh. 1lb lobster — it was MUCH smaller comparing to 1lb lobsters from other restaurants. Crab cakes — those were pretty good. Muscles — small. Shrimps — they were ok.

Fresh lobster on the wharf! We 7 had Lobster dinner combo, which came with 8 lobsters/w sides and 4 appetizers. Décor was cute

This was a disappointment. Our server was polite/well mannered and is in no way responsible for the food — unless he is doubling as the cook! We had two orders of steamers(can’t mess that up), one lobster bisque(fair), one burger(crumbly bun, untasty patty), one lobster roll(minuscule portion of lobster/majuscule portion of lettuce), and one order of panko’ed whole clams. The bisque was fair — good presentation with claw meat on top, although the bisque itself was sparse on flavor. The whole clams, regrettably, tasted of spent fryer oil. Not one single bite did I notice any clam flavor. Uncle & father-in-law had subpar dishes. Dad stuck with the steamers and was satisfied. Outrageously, the meal exceeded the cost of ours the previous night at the substantially superior Brickhouse restaurant. I’ll bet this place can do better.

We sat outside which is nice but honestly the view is pretty crummy so we might have been better off taking the first table indoors. Our waitress was great and helpful. Food came quickly and was warm. Got chowder and the Greek salad and scallops. The chowder was outstanding and the scallops were tender and flavorful.

Not good last night. Overpriced for the food quality. We sat for 50 minutes with no apology. Fork and spoon wrapped in a paper napkin? Then no more napkins offered. No bones plate. Bun at start was poor tasting, likely store boughten. Poor rib quality, dinky lobster tail. Potato was sent back then ok. String beans were great. Halibut was a disaster. Small and boney. Coleslaw was great, fries average. Mushroom caps for starter…$ 12 don’t do it.

Awful service. Waited 75 minutes and got no food and no indication of when it might be coming. Walked out.

If only the food matched the scenery. Slow service, marginal food that is over priced.

The service was good for everyone except on our table. We waited for our food for an hour, and it feels like it took them forever to cook my 1.5 lb and 41 lb lobster.

Great food, great service and everything came out in a timely manor. Also I have to say the prices were very reasonable for fresh Lobster! Ask for a patio seat– it’s a must in PEI!

Food was decent. Over priced for what you get. The highlight of the buffet would be the muscle not the lobster. Service was terrible. Our waitress served the table around us but ignored my table of 4. Our plates were piled up and had no space left to eat. She walked by 3 times and ignored us when we asked her to clean our table. After we made a commotion for her to come clean our table we asked why she ignored our table. She replied I was at another table… This is an unacceptable answer because 1) she ignored us when we kept on calling for her 2) her tray was always empty walking back to the kitchen or walking past us to serve another table and 3) the restaurant at the time was not busy at all. I had a talk with the manager and he said to me business today is slow. If business is slow why can’t she clean 1 table after the customer asked her 3 times that our table is full. I am very displeased with this place.

Overpriced lobster($ 49.99 for 2lb) which my BF ordered. He enjoyed it but don’t think it was with worth 50 bucks! I ordered speciality coffee which was tasted like watered down sugar with a hint of Bailey. For main I ordered chicken dish(only one on the menu, except children’s menu) it was bland, dry and hard to get it down my throat. This place is pricey because of the view and not worth for the taste buds. Bottom line: AVOID.

was here twice, both for lunch. Great Location, one of the best on the harbor. Great food, fries are to die for. On our 2nd day, had to get a table in a hurry. Called in our lunch order with wine. When we arrived, the food was already being prepared and the wine was chilled waiting for us. Super super friednly staff and the server(damn, forgot his name, stephen?) was very helpful in getting us in and out in 35 minutes which is all the time we had but the wife had to eat here once more before we went back to USA. Recommend!

We came here craving lobster and left disappointed. I ordered the fall flavours festival special entrée which was«Spanish lobster». It was a marinara style dish with fennel stalks on a bed of basmati rice. The flavour was very flat and lacked life. The lobster must have been sitting in the sauce for a very long time because it tasted like chewy tomatoes. My wife ordered the lazy mans lobster which arrived cold(rice lobster and veggies — all cold). We sent that back and she ordered the lobster bisque, that too was very flat. Tasted like it was the water used to boil a lobster thickened with a lot of flour and not much else. Over all a bad experience, and pretty expensive too. We won’t be back.

I would not eat here again, I found it way over priced for the portion of food that you get on the plate. I had the lobster roll which was delicious, the view is very beautiful but that’s pretty much all going for this place. A friend got a one pound lobster, side of coleslaw and baked potatoe and it cost 50 bucks, the plate looked sad. Especially paying 50 bucks!

The fisherman’s platter isn’t worth 2 bucks, they give you like 3 of each shellfish, so you’re paying purely for variety but not much of it. The lobster dinner was great. Mussels were tender, but like all mussels, you get a lot of empty ones and it’s more work than it’s worth. Solid restaurant, great servers.

Had the lobster dinner here. The price was $ 50 plus tax and tips. What came was a 1lb lobster, a potato and some vegs. The lobster was ok but the rest wasn’t really that good. The price was a bit steep. Not going back. Fisherman’s Wharf is a bit of a drive but way better.

This is the place to dine in Charlottetown if you want a not-too-many-frills seafood dinner right on the water, though you do essentially pay a bit more in total cost for location. It also offers a great opportunity to stroll around the harbor before or after. Just remember the restaurant’s parking lot has a 2 hour limit. Appetizers were a cup of fisherman’s chowder($ 5.99) and a bowl of lobster bisque($ 10.99). The chowder was more like a bowl of clams, mussels and lobster chunks with a small amount of cream poured over it. Yes, it had that much good stuff in it. My bisque was not at all like I expected. It had a much less creamy or tomato-y flavor to it, and the soup was browner and had more pepper than usual. However, it had a lot of chunks of tender lobster meat in it. The seafood platter with a lobster tail + salad substituted($ 40.99) included clams, mussels, shrimp, the lobster tail, and one crab cake which was probably industrial and had quite a lot of filler. I had the Sea Scallops platter, also with a salad substituted($ 25.99). It looks like either their prices have gone up, or they charged an additional $ 2 for a salad substitution, though the salad was quite generous. My scallops were huge, probably the diameter of a $ 2 coin and an inch thick, and seasoned just enough that the flavor of the seasoning blended with the flavor of the scallops instead of overwhelming them. But there were only 5 of them. I recall getting a scallop dinner in St. John last week where I got more than twice as many scallops for only slightly more. I rationalized it was okay since each scallop was about 3 bites when cut into bite-sized portions. Our waiter had a very unique sense of humor, which made things interesting. But it wasn’t quite as enjoyable when we heard the same routine a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th time on newer customers later in the evening. I’ll file that under«entertainment.»

It was windy today, so windy the captain decided to anchor out and tender in the passengers who wanted to go ashore. Windy enough that when we got off the tender we were nearly blown off our feet. We hadn’t had lunch on the ship, intending to have PEI mussels where they’re freshest. After wandering through the shed looking at the sweatshirts and other homemade wares, we went out toward town. Lobster on the Wharf was the first place we saw and we headed for it. This is not a shiny new chain restaurant. It’s got a patina of age, particularly the seating on the long, narrow deck which was currently being blown by the wind. Inside it was cozy w/wooden floors and nautical artifacts. There are windows all around. I looked over the menu and there were my mussels, about a pound of them for $ 10. Alan decided on a lobster roll, which came w/a side Greek salad. I ordered a side salad for myself. The mussels were cooked w/white wine and garlic and they were plump and tasty. Alan said the lobster roll was good, but not as good as Red’s in Wiscassett, our Gold Standard. The Greek salads were OK, w/lots of vegetables, feta cheese, Kalamata olives and a little too much dressing. Alan had a local dark beer and liked it a lot. It was just the lunch we had hoped for. Service was upbeat and friendly.

This restaurant is getting much better. Service for the 2011 year is great, and food is good as always. The view is awesome, make sure you sit outside! I think the prices are a little high for what you receive, I don’t recommend straying too far from the typical Lobster meal, as everything is a tad overpriced. Our waitress was lovely, and well mannered. The place wasn’t very busy that evening, so she wasn’t very distracted. We received utmost in attention, which really made our evening very special! Thanks Lobster on the Wharf. Keep up the good work

This seafood market and restaurant on the wharf offers good waterfront views of Northumberland Strait. There’s table seating in the casual dining room(Hillsboro Room), lounge(Southport Room), and in the Fairview Room upstairs. There’s also outdoor seating out on the wharf and on the decks. We arrived here on a cloudy Thursday evening for dinner. Since it was a bit nippy outside, we were seated in the casual dining room, which has wood floors and high ceilings, sounds of echoing conversations taking place. It took about 10 minutes for our waiter to appear and we were already to order. We ordered two diet pops($ 1.99 each) and the meal is described next. STARTERS: The Mussels On The Wharf($ 8.99), 15 mussels served with butter & lemon were good and fresh. The Ferryman’s Chowder($ 8.99) was served warm with a creamy mixture of scallops, minced clams, salmon, haddock, & potatoes and topped with melted butter and a cheese biscuit, not much chowder for the price. The Garden Salad($ 7.99) was fresh and a pretty good portion. Rolls and butter were given to us ENTREES: The Fish & Chips($ 12.99) was a generous portion of tempura battered haddock, fries, a sweet minced cole slaw, and vegetable garnishes, which was pretty good and not too greasy. The Lobster Roll($ 16.99) was served on a soft foccacia bread with a huge side of fresh Caesar salad(with bacon & croutons). The Caesar salad was pretty good, but there was very little lobster meat on the roll, mostly bread and lettuce on the plate. We decided to forgo dessert and the bill came out to just over $ 80 with GST, PST, and tip. The meal was good and the food was on the pricey side, but it’s about the prime location overlooking the waterfront, eh. The service was decent throughout the meal. An overall 3.5STARS for this review.
