Very disappointed with my haircut. Came here because I had received a bad haircut at Gloss hair salon and was looking for a fix here. Elaine was great at making remarks about how my previous hair stylist messed up and must have just finished hair school. She talked a lot about how great and experienced she was and more focused on asking me personal questions than my cut. She took the shears and cut it randomly in 3 parts of my hair. I almost screamed and asked will that mean I have three inch length hair by my scalp. She said no, I’m just thinning out your hair. She was wrong! I have short pieces all over. It was the most unprofessional thing I’ve ever experienced. I also asked her to NOT thin out my hair. And she did. Now it has no volume or shape. I was very specific with my asks bc I already had a poor experience with my previous hair stylist. I’m so disappointed with this cut and would never go back. Not only did I have a bad cut, the place was dingy and not sanitary. Also, since they only have 1 stylist the wait is forever. I waited an hour after my hair wash before she touched my hair. They make you sit on this alleged UV hair dryer… Tactic to make you wait. HORRIBLE!

This is my go to place for a mens haircut. She makes me look great, and the styling she does afterwards I can’t re-​produce. I’ve tried the $ 60 chain stylists and have had bad results, she only charges $ 20+. Been going to her for the last six years. Great location too, right in Kensignton.

Possibly the best haircut I’ve ever got in Calgary at a relatively inexpensive price point. I am glad I tried out this salon and had Yi Ling herself cut my long Asian hair. I feel like she knew exactly what style I wanted without having to point out every single technique. I will be back again!
