The only trophy I can think of giving this lounge is one for being open on the first hot day of the year and having cold, relatively cheap beer ($ 3.50 for a domestic bottle). Come to think of it, that doesn’t even merit a trophy — more like a participation ribbon, but Van’s Participation Ribbon Lounge sounds odd.
Regardless, Van’s Trophy Lounge on 17th Ave SW is your standard, slightly blue-​collared neighbourhood lounge. It’s kind of run down on the inside, has about a half dozen VLTs, and about a half dozen regulars shooting the breeze. But, it’s nice and dark, and the service is fast and friendly, so if you’re in the area and you’re thirsty, you could do worse than to drop into Van’s.
